“That’s not bad but give people a chance, you might not find anyone if you keep hiding,”
Natalie responded.
“That’s the thing, I don’t like people,”
“Tish, that’s why you are still single, just give people a chance and you will discover it’s not that hard, aside from me, do you even have any friends?”
Natalie asked, shaking her head.
“Yes, one, her name is Grace,”
Nicole revealed. Grace wasn’t really all that her friend but at least they chatted a lot and she sometimes just up and called her even though they mostly talk about art.
“Really? How come I don’t know this person?”
“She works at my favorite art store, the place your fiance bought, she works at Vhrisma, and we talk a lot but she hasn’t been to our house,”
“Oh, and you didn’t invite her to the wedding?”
“Hmm, she is antisocial like me and wouldn’t come even if I tell her to,”
“Oh, I see,”
Natalie responded and they went silent.
They spent the rest of the hours talking about anything and everything.
The next morning Nicole was up way even though the wedding was ten am, she still had to wrap Natalie’s wedding present, she had not been able to last night because Natalie had slept in her room, and they slept very late, the first thing she did when she woke up was run to her studio and started wrapping it, it took about thirty minutes or more to get what she wanted after which she went to the kitchen and told the cook she wanted an extra early breakfast which she eats in the kitchen, after eating she went back to her room, Natalie was still be sleeping, she didn’t bother to wake her up as it was still just six am instead she went to take a shower.
When she got back to her room Natalie was up and wasn’t anywhere in her room.
“Our bride to be finally decided to wake up,”
She thought smiling, the smile faded off when the memories of the discussion they had the previous night came back to her, she hoped her sister was really not making a mistake, breaking up a relationship would be easy, but she didn’t think breaking up a marriage union will be that easy.
“Stop being negative,”
She said to herself as she went into her closet to take out her dress, she wasn’t part of Natalie’s bridesmaids so she could wear whatever she wanted, a knock came at her door moments later and Ina walked in.
“Hi, Ina, what’s up?”
“Hello, Nicole, your sister said you should come to her room to get your hair done,”
She said.
“Okay, you are going to the wedding right?”
“Yes, of course, I love parties and can’t miss it for the world, not when lots of big people are going to be present and what’s more a top celebrity I really like will be there too,”
Ina revealed, the lady was a talker.
“Cool,”
Nicole said following her out of her room towards Natalie’s room, she knocked on the door and entered, Natalie’s room was more like a clothing shop, Nicole wondered what so many clothes were doing there when she already picked a gown, there were about four women in the room, she greeted them and sat down, close to her sister in the makeshift salon.
“What’s up with loads of clothes?”
She couldn’t help asking.
“Oh, those, I am giving them out, I asked Gracy to help me pick out the ones she thinks I don’t need anymore, I am giving them to Ina and the others,”
“Oh, that’s nice, and some of the clothes look new, they will be happy,”
“Most of them are new,”
She replied and Nicole wasn’t surprised.
“I told the stylist to give us the same hairstyle,”
“Huh? Why? I thought the reason you didn’t want me as your bridesmaid was because you didn’t want people confused? Don’t you think they will be confused if we have on the same hairstyle? I mean we have matching nails done,”
Nicole said pointing at the nails they had gone to do together two days ago, Natalie had requested for matching once, she didn’t complain but having matching hair that would make them look more alike, but then again Natalie will be wearing a wedding dress and she won’t, so yeah maybe people won’t be all that confused but she still didn’t like the idea.
“Don’t worry Nicole, no one is gonna be confused,”
“Fine, it’s your day, you decide,”
Nicole responded picking up the magazine in front of her.
It took more than thirty minutes for the women to be done with their hair and when the makeup artist had come in, Natalie had once again requested matching make up, by the time their make up was done even the makeup artists were confused, only when she stood up to leave had they known who was who.
“Really Natalie? You are going to do this? Why do you want everyone to be confused? This is crazy,”
She said looking at herself in the mirror, she looked like the reflection of her sister, Natalie smiled and she rolled her eyes at her.
“I am out of here, I can’t stand seeing myself looking at myself who is not me but looks like me,”
She announced, thanked the makeup artist, and left the room, she got to her room and was about to put on her dress when her phone rang, she picked it up once she saw it was Natalie.
“What? I just left your room, like two minutes ago,”
“Can you come back here please,”
“Okay, I am coming,”
She said and decided to carry her dress to her sister’s room, might as well get dressed there, when she entered Natalie’s room again, it was empty, okay not empty, Natalie was there but the other ladies were gone, she guessed their work was done.
“What? You want me to help you with the wedding dress?”
She asked dropping her gown, Natalie had her back against her.
“Natalie? What’s going on? Are you okay?”
She asked concerned.
“I can’t do this Nicole, I can’t get married,”
Natalie said turning to her.
“Oh no, please no,”
She thought, not liking this at all…
