Hearing these words, Micaela was stunned, her eyes full of astonishment.
Carlos gently pinched her cheek and continued:
-The display of affection between Ernesto and Alba undoubtedly hurts my assistant’s heart, therefore, I can’t let Ernesto go too far overboard.
“Diego likes Alba! Why didn’t I notice any signs?”
Then, Micaela got out of the car and was extremely shocked at the same place when she saw the scenery ahead of her.
Carlos, who was next to her, caught her in his embrace and asked her while smiling softly:
-Is it beautiful?
Micaela nodded unconsciously.
Everything was so beautiful!
In front of her stretched an endless field of lavender in bloom and the whole hillside was tinged with violet from the flowers.
The landscape was as beautiful as a fairy-tale world: in the sky of pure blue color, a few white clouds floated lazily and several windmills were slowly turning among a sea of purple flowers that gave off a pleasant fragrance, giving much calm to the people….
Alba, who had gotten out of the car first, bought from the store two garlands woven by violet lavenders, with one placed on her own head, and ran up to Micaela with the other in her hand.
She put another garland on Micaela’s head and said:
-How beautiful you look now! Mica, let’s go there!
After saying this, pulling Micaela’s hand, Alba walked towards the sea of flowers with much excitement.
Ernesto consciously took out his cell phone to take pictures for the two belles.
Diego, who was standing next to Carlos, suddenly said:
-Thank you, sir.
At that moment, if Ernesto had kissed Alba in front of Diego, he probably wouldn’t have been able to pretend to be unperturbed as if nothing had happened.
Carlos took his eyes off Micaela and looked at his assistant:
-Diego, you have your own destiny.
He nodded and replied:
-Sir, I understand. But sir, I am curious to know since when did you find out that I have feelings for Alba?
Carlos said without thinking twice:
-It was when we were rowing in the Mangzarent Nation.
Diego was quite surprised to hear the words of his boss.
“I did start to feel some vague affection for Alba from that moment on. Does Senor Aguayo have such astute eyesight that he discovered this so easily?”
A flash of light flashed through his head and Diego unconsciously asked:
-Sir, so you know that the person that Alba really likes is…?
Carlos gave the assistant a stern look and interrupted him:
-Diego, it would be better if you kept some things deep in your heart.
-Yes, sir.
Diego understood in an instant that his boss should know everything.
Looking at Ernesto who was not far away, Diego guessed that he should know how Alba felt about his boss.
“It’s not easy for these two noble gentlemen to meticulously take care of the woman they loved respectively and cautiously guard the friendship between those two women at the same time.”
The two girls were having a great time among the sea of flowers. Ernesto had bought them two bubble blowers. The two of them waved the blower in their hands and instantly a series of multicolored bubbles were seen coming out, floating in the sea of lavender.
Without knowing how much time passed, they arrived at a hotel called Casa de Flores.
It was a two-story hotel, built of wood. In front of the hotel there was a terrace where several parasols with wooden chairs stood underneath.
Ernesto was already quite tired after running back and forth in the sea of flowers, so when he saw the deck chairs under the umbrellas, he immediately sat down.
Carlos stood under an umbrella, his eyes on Micaela, who was still having fun with Alba not far away.
Upon seeing him, Ernesto jokingly spoke up:
-Carlos, you’ve been watching Micaela for a day, isn’t that enough for you yet?
He kept quiet without answering.
Diego stepped forward and intervened:
-Mr. Mancebo, well, have you looked enough at Miss Gilabert?
Ernesto closed his mouth immediately.
“No, she is so beautiful, I will never tire of looking at her ever.”
He turned around, leaned over the wooden railing and asked:
-Carlos, it seems that Micaela likes flowers very much. I see that she has planted many flowers in the house in Barrio Fanslan.
Carlos nodded slightly in response, and seeing that Micaela was walking towards himself, he approached her and led her through the field of flowers.
Micaela looked at the two-story wooden house before her, and liked it at first glance. Through the first floor window she saw a large table, which seemed to be the place to eat.
Carlos told him:
-This hotel is called Casa de Flores and we will stay here for the night.
Alba jumped for joy at his words.
-How great! The starry sky here at night should be very beautiful.
Micaela also became very happy. Her previous mood, affected by not having fully recovered her memory, was replaced by happiness.
-Carlos, now is the lavender flowering season and here it must be a tourist attraction, why are there no other tourists except us?
Diego immediately explained:
-The gentleman has rented this tourist attraction a day in advance, including this hotel.
Alba exclaimed loudly:
-You don’t say!!! Is this the lifestyle of the wealthy?
Ernesto laughed and spoke:
-If it weren’t for the wealthy Carlos, we wouldn’t be lucky enough to come and have fun here!
Micaela was quite touched by the surprise the man had prepared for her.
As they were chatting, the hotel door opened from the inside and a middle-aged woman dressed as a waitress came out with a tray full of drinks.
She approached them and greeted them respectfully in English:
-Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Flower House. Please have a drink first.
They each took a drink on the tray and took a seat on a stool.
In the fresh air floated the enchanting scent of flowers and being in such a pleasant atmosphere, everyone felt extraordinarily relaxed.
At seven o’clock, the hotel specially prepared a very exquisite dinner for them. After the meal, it was gradually getting dark, the four of them lay together on the lawn, chatting casually.
Diego had returned to his room under the pretext that he had some company business to attend to.
Under the immense starry sky, being able to lie with the most beloved person on the lawn looking at the twinkling stars was the greatest happiness in the world.
Micaela took Carlos’ hand and said looking into his eyes:
-Carlos, the night sky here is so beautiful with the stars shining!
He glanced at the sky, then looked up at the woman with his deep eyes and said affectionately:
-You are more beautiful than the night sky.
Micaela blushed at his words and changed the subject:
-Do you know where the Big Dipper is?
Hearing these words, the man looked up at the sky, searching carefully.
Soon after, he raised his hand and shouted:
-There it is!
Micaela followed his finger and looked up.
-Look, it’s there…
Under the man’s guidance, Micaela found the position of the Chariot among the stars. Very excited, she got up from the grass and turned around with the intention of sharing with Alba, but she saw that her friend was lying next to Ernesto whispering.
Thinking of poor assistant Diego, she lowered her voice and spoke to the man:
-Carlos, he should not have let Diego come with us.
Carlos reached out and put his head against her chest, and Micaela felt her chest rise and fall as he spoke.
-Silly, Diego is not as vulnerable as you think. One always needs to bravely face one’s feelings before one can move on, do you understand?
Micaela felt that Alba was already gradually becoming a part of Ernesto’s life, and that Diego’s feelings for Alba were destined to remain in vain.
She adjusted her posture, her head resting on his shoulder, looking comfortably at the beautiful starry sky.
The vast night sky was covered with twinkling stars, and from time to time meteors could be seen speeding by, making the night more beautiful.
Micaela, who would very much like to forever engrave this beautiful landscape in her mind, shook her hand towards the sky, as if a star was coming down, and whispered:
-Carlos, the sky is so high and so far away!
Carlos very gently rubbed his chin against the top of the woman’s head and said affectionately:
-Yes the sky is high and far away, but the woman I love most is within reach.
