Chapter 360 : I don’t want to get the treatment.

Ernesto looked sideways at Alba beside him and some bitterness welled up in the back of his mind.
Last night, he had been the one who went to karaoke to pick up Alba.
Bianca and Olivia told him that Alba, as if turning into someone else, suddenly started drinking nonstop after Micaela left the private room.
When Ernesto took her back to his apartment, she was already completely drunk, crying and laughing incessantly.
Ernesto could still remember clearly in his mind what she had said last night.
“You ask me why I drank so much? Of course it’s to lull me to sleep! I hate a me like that!”
“I am very sad. I’ve already made up my mind to forget him, but I can’t do it-what am I to do?”
“Micaela is already ready to give herself totally to him, what else can I do? Micaela is not mine, he is not mine either and he can never be…”
Ernesto felt a sharp pang in his heart listening to the drunkard’s words and wanted to confess to her, “I am yours, only yours, why can’t you give me a chance!”
However, he restrained himself and choked back the words he wanted to say.
He had never been so humble as he was now to love someone.
Even if he knew Alba didn’t like him, he still wanted to keep her by his side, deluding himself that he could conquer her heart someday.
Suddenly, Alba wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him on the lips.
Ernesto hesitated for a moment before pressing Alba against the couch and kissing her fiercely.
His movements were getting bolder and more violent, and she was submissive, not crying out to stop at the last step as she had done before.
But this time Ernesto stopped at the key moment, took her to his room, covered her with the blanket and left.
He did not want to be Carlos’ substitute, nor did he want to desire her when she was drunk and unconscious; he feared that the woman in his arms would moan calling Carlos’ name, and that she would regret it the next day.
Suddenly feeling a weight on his shoulder, Ernesto recovered from his thoughts and saw that Alba had fallen asleep, her head resting on his shoulder.
“This hungover woman hasn’t slept well, has she?”
Ernesto carefully adjusted his position and took the woman in his arms so she could sleep more comfortably.
Actually, Alba didn’t fall asleep, she just felt guilty, that’s why she deliberately moved closer to Ernesto.
Although she was drunk yesterday, she had a vague impression of what she had said and done.
Ernesto had gotten up in the morning pretending not to know anything, so she herself also pretended not to know anything.
Ernesto’s attitude made Alaba realize that this man really loved her very much.
At first, Alba just wanted to pretend to sleep, but she fell asleep in Ernesto’s comfortable embrace accidentally. After a good while, she was awakened by Micaela’s voice, opened her sleepy eyes and only then discovered that Ernesto had also fallen asleep.
Micaela and Carlos stood together, looking at the two of them.
Carlos said lightly:
-Does the cabin look like a good place to sleep?
Diego said smiling:
-Except for the Mr. and me, all of you have fallen asleep.
Ernesto stood up, grabbed Alba’s hand casually and refuted:
-The pilot hasn’t slept!
Alba pinched his arm and scolded:
-What nonsense are you talking, if the pilot had fallen asleep, we would never have been able to wake up!
Overhearing the conversation, Diego mentally said to himself:
“The two of them seem like a very good couple!”
Then they all got off the private plane one after the other.
The plane was landed on a very spacious lawn. The sky looked very blue, without a single white cloud, and there was a lush forest in the distance.
Because of the time difference, it was exactly nine o’clock in the morning in the Fracimon Nation.
Diego had already arranged cars well in advance: a Lincoln, and two other luxury cars. Next to the cars were eight sturdy bodyguards, dressed in black uniforms.
The driver opened the back door of the Lincoln for them. Carlos got into the car with Micaela, followed by Ernesto and Alba. Diego, who was the last to get in, sat next to Ernesto.
Then, they headed straight to the hospital.
Micaela’s restlessness was becoming more evident on the way and she was in no mood to contemplate the scenery rushing past the window.
Alba, who was sitting in front of her, saw how restless her friend was and spoke to comfort her:
-Micaela, everything will be fine. haven’t you always wanted to remember something about your parents?
She took a deep breath to calm herself and nodded her head gently.
Carlos took her hand and looked at her tenderly:
-Are you afraid?
Micaela bit her lower lip without answering.
-Honey, the man who wants to hurt you hides very well. And although we can’t be sure if that killer has something to do with your lost memories, we can’t omit any possibility, okay? I don’t want you to be hurt again in a similar way, do you understand?
Micaela took the man’s hand and said:
-I know, since we have arrived here, I won’t give up easily.
At this moment, Ernesto suddenly asked:
-Didn’t you say before that Micaela’s former colleague was quite suspicious? How was the investigation?
Carlos glanced at Diego, who immediately explained:
-According to the inquiry, we can confirm that KIKI had nothing to do with it. As for that girl named Ana, according to the recording of the gentleman, she is really suspicious, but we didn’t alarm her yet, let’s see if someone suspicious meets her.
It was a little difficult for Micaela to accept that Ana was the culprit, so she asked:
-Does that mean that there is still no substantial evidence that can confirm that Ana is directly related to this matter?
Diego nodded his head and said:
-Yes, ma’am, but this is not a good thing, because if this clue is lost, it will be even more difficult to find the guilty person behind all this.
“It must have something to do with her.”
Carlos and Micaela knew it deep down.
What Ana had said that day was the best proof.
Three black luxury cars entered the hospital one after the other, drawing a lot of attention from pedestrians.
Micaela became even more nervous as she watched them arrive at the hospital.
In front of a white two-story building, the cars slowly came to a stop.
Dr. Wade and other doctors were already waiting at the entrance. Seeing them get out of the car, Dr. Wade stepped forward and greeted them politely.
Carlos nodded slightly in response and then followed Dr. Wade into a room on the second floor, which was very spacious, with several pieces of medical equipment they had never seen before.
Noticing that Micaela was anxiously gripping Carlos’ hand tightly, Dr. Wade gave her a gentle smile and explained in English:
-Mr. Aguayo, our equipment will allow the hematoma in this beautiful lady’s brain that is compressing the nerves to melt quickly, without causing her any pain.
-Well, will that affect her actual memory? -asked Ernesto out of the blue.
Wade had talked about this the last time he went to Anlandana for Micaela’s physical exam.
Only they all hoped that the risk during the treatment could be reduced to zero, so Ernesto could not help but ask for confirmation once again.
Hearing the question asked by Ernesto, Micaela became agitated inside.
Wade spoke frankly:
-I cannot guarantee that the current memory will not be affected, but the probability is low. In past cases, a small number of people have temporarily lost their current memory after treatment, but most of them have regained it on their own after a certain time, and only very few people have lost it forever.
-Does that mean that there is a possibility that Micaela will forget her current memories? And is there a possibility that she will never get them back? -Alba said this possibility and looked at her friend.
Micaela looked at Carlos, and Alba, Ernesto and Diego with an anguished expression.
“Do I have to recall my childhood memory at the price of forgetting them?”
-Carlos, I don’t want to receive the treatment?
