Even though Mr. Joe offered to drive her back, she decline flatly and told him she would find her way home. She ordered a taxi back home and the thoughts of how Tom could do something drastic at someone’s wedding overflowed her brain. As much as she wanted to laugh so hard at his priceless reaction when his karma came back to bite his ass, the despair the bride must be feeling wouldn’t allow her laugh as much as she wanted.
For some reasons, she knew within her that Tom only forced her to come so she could witness the scenario as a payback for what happened back then at the company but she was still not happy with him. His method and approach was wrong to her, nothing could justify the wickedness he had portrayed by ruining someone else’s wedding just for revenge.
Time flew by and she didn’t even know when the taxi got to her house. The driver had to alert her that they were already at their destination before she jerked out of her deep thoughts. After making payment, she walked lazily inside and wanted to escape to her room only to find her mother already in her room helping her arrange some things she had scattered earlier.
“Why are you back so early? You went not too long ago” her mother questioned, confusion laced on her face but she only slumped on the bed in silence.
Her mother left the clothes she was arranging and moved closer to ask if she didn’t get the answer she was looking for, still no answer was coming from her and that was enough to tell her mother that her mood was bad.
She turned to the side to continue her split thought leaving her mother no choice but to leave her alone and continued her arrangement silently before leaving her alone in the room. While still thinking, she finally drifted to sleep and spent more than five hours sleeping all her thoughts away. Although she was much better when she woke up, she was still troubled about what the families could be feeling at the moment.
Her mother served her dinner and just as she settled on the dining table to eat, the news about what happened at the wedding earlier came on screen making her sigh, nothing was working for her.
“Isn’t that the wedding you went to? I guess a lot of drama went down” her mother remarked before facing her to ask why she came in sad then when her molester was arrested.
“You mean I should have celebrated someone’s wedding got ruined? This is not the issue of only the groom. What of the embarrassment the bride would be facing? The families? Cost of all wedding preparations? This is just giving me headache instead of making me happy” she lashed out but her mother’s sudden smack make her stop to ask why she got hit that way.
“You are such a fool! How is this an embarrassment for the bride? This is exactly what the bride needs for her to know that she almost got married to nothing but a scum bag! You don’t know how grateful she would be that she dodged a bullet right now. Whoever did this deserves some accolades” her mother praised.
At that point, she didn’t even know the side to support anymore so she just decided to let herself figure things out instead of getting unnecessary headaches on someone else’s wedding.

The weekend rolled by and it was Monday again, she did everything that was required of her but never talked to Tom like his girlfriend. He also strangely didn’t ask her why she was doing like that or tried to explain himself, he still kept the attitude they had before the wedding.
The atmosphere between them was still the same with before the wedding, nothing had changed between them or it was safe to say it even got worse. The last message he sent to her was persuading her to come for the wedding and also informing her that the driver would be coming over which she didn’t read because she was annoyed at him.
Even though anything he would say as an explanation would sound as an excuse to her, she wanted him to at least explain himself about what happened at the party. How he got that recording, thought of playing it there and what he thought would be the effect of his reckless action but Tom Holland didn’t even try to speak to her.
She had missed him so much, crazily at that but her stubborn attitude wouldn’t make her give in first so she didn’t make any move to make the first talking throughout that week. Finally, on Friday afternoon of that week, she had to make some inspection throughout the mall’s floor and ran into Joy at the mall.
The look of surprise which jumped to her face upon seeing her was caught by Joy who asked why she was so startled to see her there at the mall. She stuttered for a bit in an attempt to find an answer to her sudden question but Joy only smiled.
“You must have thought about what I was doing here instead of me hiding my face from the public after my wedding got ruined” Joy spelt out and the guilt weighed upon her heart.
It was due to her, was what she thought. Without wasting any time, she apologized to her about the ruined ceremony.
“I am very sorry something like that happened to you when you should be enjoying the moment with your husband by now. I am truly very sorry” she apologized but instead of a sad look on Joy’s face, she was met with a confused one.
Joy didn’t know what to say to her apology that came out of the blues because it was not her fault that the event got canceled so she quickly corrected her. “There is no reason for you to apologize for something I caused, if I didn’t do that then I wouldn’t be free here like this” Joy remarked, a shrug accompanying her words.
Amber looked up at the sound of her words, did she just heard she was the cause of the disruption that happened at the wedding? Something about her words were not clear enough and she didn’t hesitate to ask what she meant by that.
“You also listened to what happened back then but it was all your doings? You mean you were that did something like to yourself? Why? What exactly was the motive behind you doing something that huge?” she questioned and Joy smiled.
“It is a long story which I unfortunately wouldn’t be able to share today but please do help me thank your boss, Tom Holland for his cooperation and help because if not for him, I might not be able to cut that bastard off my life” Joy added before marching on to look for what else to buy.
At that moment, the guilt she had been carrying about dropped down her chest. Joy, whom she expected to be sulking around was here celebrating her freedom while also thanking her boss whom she had been in a serious fight with over her issue.
She ran back to her office and met Tom extremely busy, it would not even be the best time to ask anything so she just retracted her step even though she was so eager to apologize and push her stupid ego aside.
She continually checked on him but it didn’t seems like he would be done anytime soon, the work he was invested in needed proper attention and preparations so there was no way he would push that aside, just to speak with her.
“Gosh! You stupid lady!” she scolded herself, sinking into her seat as she thought of various ways to apologize and also make the move first.
Finally, an idea of serving him some coffee in order to check his reaction dropped into her head and she didn’t hesitate before rushing to make the coffee. Upon taking the coffee to him, he didn’t reject it nor thanked her for it, his expression was still the same with what he had been wearing ever since the first ensued between them.
“Is there anything I can help with sir?” she was forced to ask but he shook his head and said “I will take care of them on my end Miss Amber” as his response.
The Miss Amber was his clear way of drawing a line between personal and work life so she knew he was not calling her dearly. All day, the thought of how to apologize was what filled her head.
Regrets rushed in immediately she learnt about the truth, it was what the bride wanted after all and the bride was also the culprit behind the ruined wedding. She figured out that the only reason he insisted on bringing her along was because he knew something like that would happen at the wedding and just wanted her to witness the judgment of Charles but she failed to realize that. Now that it became clear to her, getting him to talk was the next but difficult step she was yet to figure out how to.
She quickly finished her work and waited till Tom was finished with the works. As soon as he was packing up, she rushed to the parking to wait for him beside his car which made him shocked obviously because she never did that ever since the fight between them started.
“Do you mind taking me home today?” she asked and he only responded with a soft “Get in then”. That was enough to let her know that he was mad at her, a lot at that!
