As the darkness of morning faded away, Maximin stood gazing at silhouette of the grey moon whose highlights were almost absorbed by from overstaying it’s nightly course. In the past night, he had his eyes on it and there hadn’t been a night since he had came to the red clan, that he didn’t gaze at it. Would we wait till the full moon is here or shall we make our move. We have a thousand men and the clan is blessed with a dozen strong beast. We have guns. Lots of guns. We are no doubt the most powerful in the whole bushes.” Said Khan as he swaggered majestically towards his cousin. ” The full moon is just days away from now. We would wait when our abilities are their peak and we shall strike out our foes. ” Said Maximin while still gazing at what was left of the fading moon.
” And your brother. What should be become of him?” Khan asked with a dismissive assertion ” We shall go for him and we shall cut him down. I want the girl first and then we proceed too to Texas and get the job done. The humans shall once again know what a crusade what a crusade feels like.” Said Maxmin.
” How did you know I was here. I came to Meditate. It’s helped me heal properly.” He said turning his gaze to Khan who stood some distance behind him.
” It’s my land. I know it all.” Said Khan, his coarse Baritone voice bellowing almost at the top of his majestic voice. Maxmin said nothing but kept his gaze at the faded moon, now he could see nothing but it’s traces but Khan had seen something else in the far meadow. He hurried past his cousin and only stopped where his toes and the edge of the clip were equal against each other. It caught the sight of Maximin who gazed with some what of an awe to how defiant of phobia his cousin was. Still not clear on what he was peering at, he moved further, bent forward with one hands held was flat against the edge of the clip and the other one was place over the ridge of his nose to get a clearer gaze. The powerful breeze bashed his back with so much ferocity that they seem to move him a feet against the cliff. He didn’t see undeterred and kept his focus on the entity in the foggy horizon.
” Why don’t you just jump big man. It’s better than falling off.” Maxmin said as he gazed in the meadow to see what it was his cousin was seeing but all he could see was fog. ” I’m onto something here.” He said and while still gazing at the direction of the entity he was sizing. ” An emissary from the north clan.” He said and steadied his gaze for a moment or two, watching the figure coming closer with each step. ” It’s no emissary. It’s Lodin. My third eyes. He will be here.” Khan said, and stood up before flipping backwards to beat the tense air that seemingly towed him against the cliff.
” You have spies in the clans?” Maximin asked gazing dismissively at the fog.
” I do.” He said and stood still, his face sunken in a vicious scowl. His was silent for a while, making it apparent that he was thinking of something of a worthy importance and finally, he spoke.
” I want mercy for the North clan.” Maximin whose eyes were now close in meditation, didn’t bother opening them. ” Anyone can be shown mercy except the leader of the Charokee. Now that you know my stance. You can do what you want.
” They are allies. It should be worthy of your knowledge?” Bellowed Khan as he gazed at the meadow and could now see Lodin Clearly.
” And why show Mercy to the allies of my enemies?” He silvered to keep his mind at bay.
” Soon I will be taking a betrothed bride from their clan. Damaris the niece of Chief Montana has been offered to me. She’s a beauty to behold and preparations for a grandeur wedding is already in motion.” Said khan and nodded his head in majesty like an old Agama. He suited his reed silk pinafore which hung only on his single shoulder.
“How long has this been?” Maxmin asked with an effortless ease. ” Six months.” Khan Bellowed, wondering what duration had got to do with his engagement.
” Six months? I see.” ” Does this chief still knows of your engagement.” Maximin asked.
” Hell yes! The whole bush people know.” Khan Roared and turned at his Cousin.
” Isn’t Six months too much time for a lady to be left alone in the woods? I haven’t met Amelia for more than a week and I’m already willing to kill anyone that will try to stop me from taking her back. Why would you wait for six months in a jungle that has no rules.” Said Maximin and inhaled deeply in relaxation.
” If I have to wait for six year or six decades before accepting a betrothal, then I will wait and so shall the lady in question even if she grows old waiting for me. I am King khan! No one will Dare you to contest an authority with me. No one!” He thundered and blasted his palm over her half clad chest till it bellowed so loudly, echoing through the caps of the grand canyon. His cousin simply said nothing but smiled as he kept on the tempo of meditation. The sound from the Canyon had caused Lodin to catch the sight of his king. He began to hurry quickly to break the news of whatever it was that had brought him from the North Clan.
“My king I greet you.” Lodin shouted as he threw his lanky legs to the ground. He was wearing a hide pant that had loads of beats knitted to it which was the height of fashion in the North clan.
” Lodin Get up. What brings you back today.” Khan said while Maximin stood by his side.
” Sacrilege!” ” Oh sacrilege my Lord.” Said the tall man with bulgy eyes and that rested on an overly narrow face. From the manner which he was quick to gaze from one direction to another, Maximin had to suspect he was derailed.
” What sacrilege do you talk about Lodin. Speak up this moment!” Khan yelled out and decked the base of his sword against the sedimentary plains of the canyon.
” Oh Montana. Montana has Committed Sacrilege.” He cried out, bellowing loudly like a mare in labor.
” What has that ingrate done again? Speak !” He commanded and moved a step further his third eye who seemed to be testing his patience.
” Montana! He gave… He gave . Sacrilege…”‘ Cried Lodin and even had tears in his eyes from how serious he Revered his master.
” I command you to speak!” Khan bellowed and raised his spear in rage.
” My Lord!!. Montana Married Damaris to the chief of the Chorokee. Mercy on my tongue oh my Lord!!!.” Cried out the retarded spy. Maxmin couldn’t help himself but chuckle In disgusts to the whole package ranging from the news itself to the bringer of the news. It left khan trembling in disbelief as all his life as a royal till when he became warlord and now that he was king, he had never felt so insulted by the acts of Montana neither had he felt so much embarrassment as he now did before the presence of his cousin. His spear was still hung in the air and he turned, gazing at the meadow like a fatally wounded superhero who was about to breath his last. For such a sacrilege, there was going to be dire consequences, hundreds of life were going to be taken, but alas the bringer of such a Heinous news wasn’t going to left unrewarded. Like a tornado, khan made an abrupt airborne tone, with a pristine spear control and landed before Lodin bringing the head of his spear to lodge deep into the skull of the wailing spy. He pulled out his spear causing the limp body of Lodin to travel a bit with it until it was disconnected from the tip of the sword, causing the body to crash and twitched away it’s last. Maximin looked at dead human with much indifference and took his eyes of it.
” Well brother. It seems we are even. Does your mercy for the North still holds?” He asked Khan as he gazed at the lands below the canyons.
“No mercy! We shall kill all of them. Their survivors shall be my slaves. My only compensation for such a blatant act of blasphemy is to take all their lands and unify them under my rule.” Said Khan as he panted in somewhat of relief after killing the bringer of the news.
” You’ve just killed your third eye, who would bring the news for you now?” Maximin asked in a meditative humor.
” I have a hundred eyes. I can’t be bothered. Let’s go! We have lands to conquer.” Said Khan and walked away with rage, while Maximin smiled and followed. The time to get back his woman was near.
