“Grandma, we don’t want a second child at this time.” Zachary Irwin turned to Ottilia Amos, “Even if we wanted a second child, it would probably be years away.”
Jane Gardner was fine hearing the first half of the sentence, but when she heard the second half, she frowned slightly.
“Okay, it’s all up to you guys. Now that I’m old, I just want to retire quietly, and you guys make all the decisions at home and outside the house.” Ottilia Amos was in a good mood, she waved her hand and told the people behind her to bring in the things.
“Jane girl, the past is in the past, from now on, you are the Irwin family and The Shine’s mistress. These are the family’s genealogy and asset overview, what exactly is there, tomorrow I will have the legal team come over to tell you.”
Ottilia Amos finished and a whole mahogany box was placed at Jane Gardner’s feet.
“I just came by to see Steven today and will be moving out of The Shine soon, you don’t have to give me all this stuff, Grandma.” Jane Gardner explained quickly as she looked at the mahogany box that could almost fit her alone all filled with information.
Ottilia Amos’ eyesight is poor and she can’t read many words clearly, so Jane Gardner converts to voice to communicate with her.
However, once her voice was played, the entire family heard it.
“Mommy, I’ll go with you wherever you want to go!” Steven Irwin was the first to respond, and he grabbed Jane Gardner’s hand.
“Me too.” Zachary Irwin wrapped his arms around Jane Gardner’s waist as he was second.
“Young lady, you just got back, why are you leaving again?” Nanny Finn was the third to express her reluctance.
Jane Gardner saw all eyes fixed on herself, she glanced at Zachary Irwin, “I have communicated with Zachary about this matter, and I have made up my mind, none of you should persuade me.”
Jane Gardner finished, she turned to Steven Irwin, “Baby, if you miss mommy, you can go to mommy’s side for a while, but no matter what, you have to stay at The Shine. your daddy has taken care of you all these years, he has had a hard time, you have to be more understanding.”
When Steven Irwin heard Jane Gardner’s words, he shook his head no.
“He didn’t work hard at all, at best, he did suffer in the matter of finding you.” Steven Irwin’s little adult face to Jane Gardner, “Mommy, you don’t want to live in The Shine, is it because you don’t want to be with Daddy? If you hate him, we can live by ourselves.”
Zachary Irwin saw Steven Irwin evicting himself squarely, his face sank and he grabbed him and handed him over to his bodyguard to be taken to his room.
Ottilia Amos had heard those words just now, and she knew more or less what Jane Gardner was thinking now.
She took the cane handed to her by the butler and slowly walked around the hall with it in her pestle.
Finally, she settled in front of Jane Gardner, “Jane girl, you have a grudge against Zachary? Is it because of Mr. Irwin Rin’s illness?”
“If so, Grandma can apologize to you, Grandma admitted. I did let you marry Zachary to save his brother, but ask yourself, have you ever been treated badly by Grandma during the years you married into the Irwin family? Have you ever not been treated as the Irwin family’s granddaughter-in-law?”
It was the first time Ottilia Amos had spoken to Jane Gardner in a straightforward manner.
She talked about what happened back then, and she didn’t regret a single thing, and even if she had to do it all over again, her choice would still be the same.
After Jane Gardner learned that her cord blood had saved Mr. Irwin’s life, she didn’t care about those things.
She is not with Zachary Irwin now, completely unrelated to what happened back then.
But those words, she did not know how to open her mouth to explain to Ottilia Amos.
“Girl, you left for five years, Zachary waited for you for five years, during these five years, his deep love for you, the sun and the moon can see, even I, an old woman, was touched by him. I thought, if you never come back, Zachary never marry, I also admit!
Ottilia Amos finished what was in her heart, and she said no more.
Jane Gardner never thought that one day, The Shine’s people would retain themselves like this.
Especially Zachary Irwin, all of them were telling her how much he loved her and how he had been so devoted to her for the past five years.
Jane Gardner didn’t know when Ottilia Amos had left, let alone when the hall had been left to her and Zachary Irwin.
Her eyes twitched and turned to him, “If you still want me to stay, I can promise you that, only, we can’t share the same room or the same bed.”
Jane Gardner handed over her phone and she closed her eyes.
This was her final compromise, and if this was something Zachary Irwin couldn’t do, she was definitely going to move out of The Shine and keep her distance from him.
“Are you giving up your life for justice? Why do you look so pale?” Zachary Irwin sneered out, he dang Zachary Irwin, is really did not expect, one day, to be reduced to begging someone to share a room with him.
And, the person he was begging was also the mother of his child.
“But, I promise.” Zachary Irwin’s words fell, he took the lead and turned back to his room.
After Jane Gardner had eaten the dinner Nanny Finn had made and watched Steven Irwin go upstairs, she pushed her way in.
Zachary Irwin had long since made the floor bunk and he was lying on it.
Jane Gardner looked at Zachary Irwin on the floor, and her nose tingled.
Who was Zachary Irwin? He had grown up with a golden spoon, and sleeping on the floor was probably the first time in his life.
She tilted her head to get rid of the sourness in her nose, and she stepped over to him and climbed into bed.
The two of them had nothing to say to each other.
Jane Gardner saw that Zachary Irwin was really angry, so she turned the light off and closed her eyes to sleep.
She could hear Zachary Irwin’s breathing and feel his presence, but for the moment, they were the most familiar strangers in the world.
She had nothing to say.
“Jane Gardner, you’re finally back! It’s been five years! I’ve finally waited for you!” In the middle of the night, Ivel Day came out of nowhere and she stood at the head of Jane Gardner’s bed.
Dressed in a white nightgown, her hair was loose, and only half of her face was visible, but her voice had a ghostly quality.
Jane Gardner’s heart fluttered, and she opened her eyes abruptly to see Ivel Day holding an ashtray up to her head.
She avoided Ivel Day’s smash on instinct, and just as she was about to turn on the light, Ivel Day grabbed her from behind.
“Zachary Irwin has been torturing me day and night for five years. Jane Gardner, I heard them say today that you’re back, and I didn’t believe them, but you’re really back!
If there’s a way to heaven, you can’t go to hell! Good!
Since Zachary Irwin loves you so much, I’ll let him have a taste of what it’s like to lose it again!” Ivel Day thought of all the pain and suffering she had endured at The Shine over the years, and she raised the ashtray again.
“Who told you she was back?” Zachary Irwin, already awake, grabbed Ivel Day’s raised hand and snatched the ashtray out of her hand.
Then he scooped up Jane Gardner in his arms and pushed Ivel Day right out of the way.
Jane Gardner’s heart was still beating hard, Ivel Day appeared in this outfit, really scared her.
She saw that she was saved and rushed to turn the lights on.
After five years, she had forgotten what Ivel Day looked like.
