Chapter 13 That Woman

Book:Echoed Love in Hell Published:2024-6-2

‘If I am still alive, they will suffer!” Sandra clenched fists with clarity in her eyes.
Jimmy was puzzled but then joy came back to his face. Sandra was transformed, which meant she wouldn’t give up her life easily like before?
At the same time, Clinton felt so lighthearted without the disturbance of Sandra. Without her noise, he could enjoy reading quietly without burdens.
However, the message he received today…
He took out his phone, thoughtless. After a while, he put on a slight smile and put away the phone in the pocket. It was a good thing that that woman said she wouldn’t disturb him anymore.
As soon as he arrived at home, the noise made by the broken glass attracted his unpleasant attention.
Meanwhile, Jessi was scolding somebody angrily.
Helper Wang kept silent when she saw Clinton.
Clinton had no interest in knowing what happened, but touched his forehead, exhausted ‘Jessi, I am tired”
Jessi knew well what to do, ‘sure, let’s go and take a rest.” She put on a bright smile on her face and held Clinton by his arm, obediently.
Clinton appreciated her cleverness, knowing how to do the right thing at the right time. He nodded and hinted to Helper Wang not to take it seriously. And then went to the bedroom with Jessi.
Day after day, Clinton felt less and less fun, but he couldn’t tell why.
The name of Sandra came to his mind often, even though he tried not to. He couldn’t help checking when heard the sobbing sound of some woman. He must be insane.
‘President? President?” Secretary Chen realized his mind was lost and had to wave her hand in front of him in a shock.
He came back and had a look at her, asked ‘what’s going on?”
Secretary Chen handed over the documents in her hand and said ‘President, this one…”
Clinton rushed it over and signed his name, then told her to leave, frowning his forehead.
Secretary Chen took and document and walked out carefully. The phone rang suddenly. Clinton checked the ID number and answered ‘speaking!”
Jessi said ‘Clinton, come home early today. I made soup …”
Clinton was inattentive and hung up after slight ‘Humm”. He looked up to see Secretary Chen was still there, he asked unpleasantly ‘anything else?”
Secretary Chen murmured ‘did Sandra call you just now?”
These three words were like a curse that frozen him on the spt. He didn’t hear this name for days ‘why did you mention her…”
Secretary Chen continued, which broke him down completely.
‘When I came in, you were repeating these three words. You just like her very much.” Secretary Chen felt she was out of her mind to gossip about the president. But he was totally not himself recent days. He lost his mind often even in the meeting today.
Clinton stared her firmly and shouted ‘get out!”
He seemed to explode like the storm. Secretary Chen ran away speedily, with the door closed behind her.
He sneered at what Secretary Chen said. ‘He liked her still?” How could it be possible?
On the way home, he was repeating the sentence like being brainwashed without ending, which led almost to a car accident.
When he arrived safe and sound, he smelled something delicious.
He put on a smile and said softly ‘Jessi”
He took a sniff at the chicken soup Jessi handed over to him, what a familiar scent… he couldn’t wait but took a sip, but frowned his eyebrows subconsciously. Eventually he had to spit it out, as the taste was totally different from what he thought.
Jessi was shocked with twisted face. The reason she cooked chicken soup was to replace Sandra, because it was the only cuisine that he liked from Sandra.
The anger was gathering more and more upon thinking it over, she couldn’t take it any longer but turned the table upside down, ‘Clinton, don’t you think I can’t compare to her? Aren’t you still missing her?”
Clinton witnessed all with a sullen face, did she spoil her too much?
He withheld the urge of self-explanation and blow-up, only because she was pregnant with his baby. He pushed the chair and walked straight outside. One more second here would drive him crazy. This woman was beyond comprehension!
Clinton came in the street. The fresh air made him feel better suddenly. He entered into a small garden nearly without intention.
‘I like you; I want to stay with you. Don’t push me away!”
‘Are you enough?”
‘I don’t care. In whatever way I won’t leave. You are mine…”
Clinton subconsciously turned around to look but the darkness clouded everything, so that he could only figure out two shadows in shapes of one man and one girl.
The look of Sandra came to his mind before he realized. She used to say the same thing no matter how much he laughed at her, or called her name. She would just stay there, shameless.
Suddenly, he frowned his eyebrows. Why did she think of Sandra? What’s wrong with him. No matter whom he saw, he would think of her. Sandra, such a trouble-maker!
