Chapter 83

Book:The Couples' Teen Surrogate Baby Mama Published:2024-6-2

“Why are you doing this?” Alicia yells at the top of her voice as tears stream down her cheeks. Alicia has been untied, and they are both inside a room now.
“You are going to kill everyone, and take what belongs to them? Are you this much of a monster?” She yells again, but Dennis doesn’t look like he is going to listen to her.
“We’ve got what we want now… Why don’t we leave for a faraway place where nobody will ever be able to get to us? I am giving you a chance to do this now,” Dennis replies to her as he hands her a pistol.
“If you want to live, go out there, and shoot them one after the other. Kill them all and let’s leave here once and for all. This is the only chance you have, Jessica. If you turn your back on me now, I will take you as my enemy for real this time,” He utters, and she gulps down the lump that forms in her throat as she stares at him. Her hand trembles nervously, and she gulps down nothing again. It’s literally her first time holding a gun, and she can’t help but panic.
“Are you going to kill them, or do you rather I kill them by myself and still send you to hell with them?” The corner of his lips slowly twitch into a smirk as he leans forward, and she bites her bottom lip. Should she shoot him instead? What if he is wearing a bulletproof knowing she would think of that? Will they be safe then?
“Come on, Jessica. You are my child, remember?” His smirk slowly dissipates into a wide smile this time, and she feels her heart sinks into her stomach.
“Aren’t you scared that I will shoot you? Aren’t you scared that I will kill you instead? Do you trust me that much?” She asks him, trying not to stutter as she thinks of his level of insanity for handing her the gun and becoming armless, but his reply sends shivers down her spine.
“Trust? I don’t trust anybody, not even myself. That is the first rule to live by as a human. Never trust anyone, not even your spouse or the child you birthed, so I don’t trust you. I know you won’t dare to shoot me… My men are out there, securing this place. Do you think they will allow you all out of here alive if anything happens? We all will lose. You will die if you dare try something stupid,” He emphasizes on the last part, and she steps away from him fearfully. As much as she wants to sacrifice her life and shoot him, what about those people she is trying to save? Does it even make any sense? Does it make any changes? Whether she agrees to kill them or not, he will still do it by himself.
“If you don’t want Max and Alex dead, you should be fast about it, so we can leave here before they arrive. If they meet us here, then only the two of us would have to leave here alive, or even me alone,” He further utters, and she slowly nods her head.
Tears stream down her cheeks as he leads her out of the room, and heads to where Mr. Daniel and his family are, but they stop when they walk in to see that Max is also tied in the room with Dennis’s men surrounding them.
“Wow! That was pretty fast,” Dennis smirks as he glances at Alicia who is just standing like a drenched puppy, thinking of how she is going to murder the family that took her in all this while, how she would bring herself to harm the man that loved her all his life even though she was playing him all along.
“Kill them all fast and let’s get out of here, Jessica,” He further urges her.
“What the hell do you think you are doing, bastard!” Max yells at the top of his voice as he tries to stand up, but he falls back to the floor.
“Max! Are you ok?” Ariel shrieks.
“Are you going to shoot them, or do you want me to do it?” Dennis snaps at Alicia as he tries to take the gun from her, but she turns swiftly and hits him in the groin so hard that he groans and staggers back. Without thinking twice, she pulls the trigger but is shocked that the gun has no bullet. She was tricked.
“Wow! That was so smart of you, sweetheart,” She staggers back fearfully when he stands up to his feet.
“You think I would be so foolish to give you a loaded gun? Don’t be ridiculous,” Dennis chuckles softly as he pulls out a pistol from the back of his trouser, pointing it at Alicia.
“Please… please don’t kill me,” She slowly shakes her head as she steps away from him, her heart thumping hard against her chest as she watches her death staring back at her.
“I don’t consider you my child anymore. You just ruined the last chance I gave you, and you have to take what comes after betraying me,” He smirks as he points the gun at her, and just like that, the door bursts open and someone knocks the gun off his hand, followed by cops trooping into the large room, and soon, they were surrounding all of them.
“Drop your weapons!” The commander of the cops utters, and they all drop their guns.
“Move!” Dennis and his men were moved out of the place, and to the police trunk which drives them away.
“Are you ok?” Alex hurries over to Alicia that is sitting on the floor with a pool of tears streaming down her cheeks as she stares into space, unable to pull out of the trauma. Was he really going to kill her if they didn’t come?
“Shhhh! Don’t cry,” Alex hushes her as he pulls her into his arms, hugging her tightly to himself.
Ariel bursts into tears as he hugs Max tightly, crying on his shoulders.
“Shhhh! Everything is over now. Don’t cry, please,” Max whispers as he strokes her head…
