Chapter 75

Book:The Couples' Teen Surrogate Baby Mama Published:2024-6-2

I toss on the bed for the umpteenth time, trying to get some sleep, but I can’t even bring myself to do it. The scenario from earlier today is still stuck in my head, and the more I try to get it off, the more I find myself thinking about it, and it’s really driving me nuts.
“Is he kidding me?” I scoff as I sit up on the bed, ruffling my hair that I already parked inside my cap, allowing them to fall carelessly on my shoulders. The room is air-conditioned, but I feel so hot and just feel like I need fresh air, but I know that I don’t need it. I may feel cold if I decided to step out of the room now.
It bothers me to think that Alex has been playing me, but I also don’t want to conclude that it’s what I’m thinking. What else would it look like? He was obviously playing you. I also try to assure myself that it’s not what I’m really thinking, but fuck! My head is so messed up that I can’t even gather my thoughts together.
Pushing all the thoughts away, I lay back on the bed, waiting for sleep to come whenever it deems it fit to. And a few minutes later, nature comes knocking at my door, and I gladly give in to it.
I have no idea how long I’d been asleep, but the sound of my ringing phone pulls me out of my deep slumber, and I groan lazily as I force my eyes open, the ceiling welcomes me. I groan angrily. I should’ve turned my phone off before I went to bed yesterday, but realizing that it’s morning and the sun is already out, I change my mind and sit up on the bed before I reach out for the phone that already stopped ringing for over a minute now. I unlock it and scoff when I see that it’s that crazy man calling me again. What the hell does he want from me?
About to drop the phone because I was not planning to call him back, the phone starts ringing again, and seeing his name displayed on the screen makes me scoff angrily. What the heck does he want now?
“What do you want now, Dennis?” I sigh briefly as I roll my eyes.
“You have to show me some respect, girl. I am still your dad…”
“If you called to tell me that, then you must be crazy. I’m going to hang up now,” I cut him off.
“Let’s meet this morning. I have something important to show you, and you will really love it, ok? I will send you the address,” his voice sounds from the other end, and I can’t help the scoff that tears through my throat.
“And what makes you think that I will want to meet with a blackmailer?” I scoff, and I hear him scoff too.
“This blackmailer is your dad, Jessica. Can you show some respect? Anyway, that’s not a problem. I’m going to send you the address, and trust me, you will really love what you are going to see,” His voice sounds suspicious, and I’m already drowning in curiosity, wondering what he is talking about, but trusting him to the point of meeting him is the last thing I want to allow myself do. For someone who has the mind to blackmail his daughter, then he can do worse, right?
“It’s up to you to meet me, Jessica,” those are his last words before the call drops dead, and barely one minute later, my phone beeps with a message popping on the screen. It’s the address he said he was going to send to me.
Staring at the address on my phone, I sigh briefly, thinking of whether to go meet him to see this interesting thing or save myself the story that touches the heart, by just letting go of my curiosity.
After giving it a thorough thought, I decided to give in to my curiosity and go see him, since the place is not a remote place where people won’t be to help me if anything goes wrong later. Meeting him in secret is the last thing I would ever think of doing.
I stand up from the bed and head to the bathroom where I have a long and relaxing bath, and I get dressed before I leave the hotel room as soon as I leave the bathroom.
The drive to the restaurant didn’t take much time, and since it’s a bit far, I arrived in about thirty-five minutes. At some point, I was thinking that I was leaving the city because of the distance. I would’ve suspected that he was trying to lure me into abduction, if not that I’m familiar with the restaurant in town.
Just when I’m about to step out of the car, my phone beeps as a message pops on the screen. It’s a message from Alex.
‘I have something to do at the office this morning. Let’s hang out together during lunchtime. I will pick you up from the hotel if you can’t drive yourself’ I finish reading his message, before I toss the phone back into my handbag, not replying to his message.
As I stride toward the entrance door after I step out of the car, I spot Dennis sitting at the far end of the restaurant, close to the window. I can always recognize him even from afar. Finally, I walk into the restaurant but scoff when I finally get a glimpse of what he looks like today. Anyone that sees this man would think he is a businessman because of the way he is dressed. He doesn’t look like the gangster that he is.
“You should apologize for keeping me waiting, daughter,” he smiles at me as I pull out the chair to sit across from him. I hate it when he calls me his daughter, but I just have to be calm and hear what he has to say to me.
“Why did you call me here?” I ask him rudely, and he rolls his eyes.
“You are always rude, and it’s starting to piss me off,” He laments, and I scoff. As if I care about that.
“You should deal with it, Mr. Dennis. Now, can we cut to the chase?” I roll my eyes at him, and he bites his bottom lip as his eyes pierce at me, boring invisible holes in my body.
“I just want to spend time with my daughter today, and nothing more,” He shrugs, and I scoff. Is he kidding me?
“What did you say?” I ask him to be sure that it was my ears that deceived me into hearing what was not said, because I see no reason why he would call me here to drive over thirty minutes to see him, just because he wants to spend time with me. I mean, that doesn’t really make any sense, honestly.
“Let’s catch up on old times,” He further utters, and I scoff. This is unbelievably crazy.
“Are you kidding me?” I glare hard at him…
