Chapter 59

Book:The Couples' Teen Surrogate Baby Mama Published:2024-6-2

Alicia POV
“Are you kidding me, Alicia? You are getting married to Alex?” Jenny, my best friend that just came back from the State shrieks, and I roll my eyes. Jenny and I have been best friends since our high school days, but she moved out of the country after high school, where she went to school. She was the one that recommended Ariel to me when I told her I needed a maid. I knew she wouldn’t help me if I had told her I and my husband were looking for a surrogate baby mama, so I told her we just needed a maid.
“No, I’m not,” I shrug, and she scoffs and leans forward.
“Have you lost it, Alicia? This man we are talking about here was your brother-in-law… He is your husband’s fucking brother!” She snaps at me.
“Ex-husband…”
“Even so. You are going to get married to someone you were married to his brother before? Are you kidding me?” Her eyes narrow as she shrieks for the second time.
“Come on, Jenny, stop making a mountain out of nothing, ok? There’s nothing wrong with getting married to my ex-husband’s brother, ok? I am no more married to his brother…”
“Even so, Alicia! What the hell happened to you, huh? By the way, what happened between you and your husband? What the hell happened? I tried to speak with you on the phone the other time, but you weren’t in your right frame of mind. What was that chaos about on the internet?” She asks after she takes a deep breath.
“That girl… Is she really your maid, or was she really hired to be…”
“All that was crap, ok? Max betrayed me, got our maid pregnant, and got married to her behind me. And when I found out and confronted him, he didn’t even feel remorseful, he bluntly told me we should get a divorce, and because of him, I had a miscarriage, and he never even cared even when he found out about it,” A drop of tears slid down my cheeks as I narrate my story to her. Well, as you always know, I just want her to believe me and look at Max as the bad person, and nothing else.
“Wow! Men are really unpredictable. I thought Max was madly in love with you. What the hell happened?” She scoffs.
“I don’t know… Maybe he lost feelings when he started having sexual affairs with the girl, I don’t know,” I shrug, and she sighs.
“That’s really sad, honestly. Max was the last person I expected that from… But still, let’s be realistic, Alicia. You can’t marry his brother, even though you want to get your revenge. I’m not in support of that, because it doesn’t make any sense to me at all,” She insists, and I sigh briefly.
“I’ve already made up my mind, Jenny, and there’s nothing you would say that’ll make me change it. So just give up already,” I whine to her, and she shrugs.
“What about Alex? I’m sure he knows you were married to his brother, isn’t he? Did you force him into this?” She stares at me suspiciously, and I scoff.
“Come on, Jenny. I’m not that bad. He is a grown man that knows what he wants, and he was the one that asked to marry me. I didn’t approach him. I guess he must’ve had his eyes on me while I was still married to his brother, who knows,” I shrug, and she sighs briefly.
“If that is what will make you happy, then I won’t stop you, but just know that…”
“You are not in support of it, and I understand,” I cut her off, and she nods her head.
“Good. So, why don’t we stop talking about this already, and go have some fun out, huh?” She winks at me, and I squeak excitedly. It has been a while since I last hang out with this bitch. I’ve really missed her so much.
“Of course, I will be more than happy,” I reply to her, and she stands up to her feet.
“I should get dressed inside and come join you,” She utters before she finally leaves for her room.
I can’t really wait to be married to Alex, and live the rest of our lives happily, but I know I should be patient for these remaining few days.
After Jenny came to join me, we finally leave afterward.
After hanging out with Jenny and having a fun time with her, I return to the hotel where I have been staying for some time now.
I throw myself on the bed as soon as I walk inside, staring up at the ceiling.
The sound of my ringing phone pulls my attention, and my heart skips when I check the caller, and it’s my dad. I haven’t really told anyone about myself. Just like Ariel, I’ve lived a rough life in my past. A life full of pain and suffering. My mom left my sorry-ass dad when I was just four, so I never knew what she looked like and I never bothered to find her, because why the fuck should I care? She fucking left a little girl to take the pain she couldn’t, doesn’t that make her a heartless woman? You can imagine the pain of a little girl going hungry all day and still going to bed with an empty stomach, yeah? Well, that little girl was me.
I endured the pain until I was ten, and that night was when my life changed forever, and I am here today. That night, I left the house angrily after staying all day without eating, with the hope of getting something to eat, but I ran into someone’s car, and that was all I remembered before I passed out. Waking up the next day in a big and beautiful mansion, I thought I was dead and in heaven, but I found out later that the person that picked me was a multi-billionaire that owned a beautiful house, and I knew at that moment that my life has changed for the better.
Of course, I lied to him about being an orphan of both parents when he asked about my identity, and after feeding him with lies, he decided to keep me in his house for a few days while waiting for the news of a missing child. One week passed, and when there was no news, he decided to report the matter to the police, and after everything, he took me in as his daughter, since he never had one. That was how I started from being a poor wretched church rat, to being the only precious daughter of a billionaire.
Of course, I met Alex through the influence of my dad, and that was how good things started coming my way.
Recently, I have been receiving strange calls from the man that claimed to be my dad, blackmailing me and taking money from me with the threat of telling my secret if I don’t comply, and of course, I had to. I don’t want my dad to ever find out that I was never an orphan.
Pushing my past behind me now, I swipe the answer button.
“Where is the money, Alicia?” The man’s deep voice sounds through the phone, and I feel my heart sinks into my stomach. I feel scared, but I can’t do this anymore, knowing he won’t ever stop blackmailing me. He will continue to ask me for money for as long as I keep giving him.
“You wouldn’t want…”
“Just do your worst, Mr. Man. Stop bothering me and do your worse if you have the balls to,” I cut him off, but instantly regret what I said.
His dry chuckle sounds from the other end, and I know that I just messed things up. I’m doomed, and that is for real.
“He… hello… Hold on, I didn’t… I didn’t mean to say that, ok?” I try talking to him, but silence still reigns there, and I’m already starting to get nervous.
You may be wondering why I believe him to be my dad, right? He has sent me different proofs of the pictures I snapped together with my dad, and the things he does tell me back which only the two of us knew about.
“You want me to do my worst, right? How dare you, ungrateful girl? You were greedy enough to have left me because I had nothing… You are just like that gold digger, your mom!” He snaps at me, and I flinch fearfully as if he’s here with me.
“I… I… will…”
“Are you going to send the damn money or not?” He yells, and I shiver as a drop of tears slid down the corner of my cheek. What the hell have I ever done? I just wanted to live a normal life, I just wanted to feed myself because he couldn’t do it. Maybe I shouldn’t have lied in the first place. This would’ve been avoided if I had just told the truth, but what if I had to go back to that wretched life and wallow in pain for the rest of my life?
“I will send it, please,” I reply to him.
“Good girl. I give you twelve hours to do that,” And with that, the call drops. By now, my body is already shaking, and beads of sweat form on my forehead as I sit on the bed and cry my eyes out. Do I deserve any of this? I don’t think I really deserve it…
