Alicia POV
I smile excitedly as I stare at my reflection in the mirror. I look extremely beautiful in the red gown and a pair of heels Alex ordered for me.
I turn my back to the mirror, and damn! This short strapless gown looks perfect on me.
“What is he going to say to me?” I mumble as I finally walk over to sit on the bed. Ever since he told me that, I haven’t really thought about anything else aside from that. I have been trying to figure out what he would likely tell me later, but the only thing that keeps ringing in my head is ‘proposal’. He has gotten everything he wanted, and it’s now time for us to be together, so that can be the only reason why he wants to see me.
“Gosh! I’m so excited,” I squeak excitedly at the thought of finally being with the man I’ve always loved all my life, because why not?
The sound of my ringing phone pulls my attention, and I quickly swipe the answer button once I see that the call is from Alex.
“Hey, baby,” I blush hard when I hear his beautiful and sexy voice from the other end.
“Hey,” I manage to reply since my heart is racing fast. Gosh! My voice is cracking.
“I’m waiting for you at the gate,” He utters, and the call drops afterward.
“Are we good to go?” I mumble as I quickly rush to go check myself out in the mirror one more time before I stride out of the room, not after picking up my red purse.
My heels click on the floor as I walk briskly down the hallway minutes later, and I finally arrive at the front of the gate after about five minutes, where I find him leaning against his car, looking as breathtaking as always, in his black trouser, and the red shirt he is wearing. Wow! He is wearing matching clothes with me.
His mouth drops open as soon as he sights me, and I can only blush hard at the way he is staring at me, fascinated by my beauty.
“You are so gorgeous,” He utters as he covers his face with his palms and turns around before he turns to face me again, as he chuckles softly. Yes, he always has his way of making me feel special, and he is fucking at it again.
“Thank you,” I blush hard.
“Gosh! I can’t breath… Your beauty is suffocating me. Fuck! Alicia,” He scrutinizes me with his eyes, and that only makes me feel on top of the world. I’m glad that in the end, he is really keeping his promise of being together with me. Finding a man that always keeps to his word is another level of perfection.
“Come on, stop flattering me,” I giggle as I throw my face away shyly.
“Come here…” He utters as he holds my hand, and pulls me into his arms, hugging me tightly like I would disappear if he goes easy on me.
After the sweet moment, we finally leave for God knows where. Silence creeps into the atmosphere as he drives down the road a few minutes later, but he kept glancing at me occasionally, smiling.
I finally realize we are going to the restaurant when we arrive about thirty minutes later, and he opens the car door for me like the gentleman he has always been. I think this care runs in their family, because his brother was also this tender with me when we were still into that shit of a marriage. He has literally done everything he could, to please me, but fuck him! I was never interested in him. It was just for a deal, and I’m glad we are finally done now and went our separate ways.
Sitting opposite each other in the five-star restaurant a few minutes later, I stare at him, admiring everything about him.
The table has been decorated like it’s for a proposal. It has flowers, drinks, and fruits on it, and gosh! I want to taste the wine already.
“Uhm… Alicia…” He pauses and holds my hands on the table, giving them a light squeeze, and my heart flutters excitedly.
“You have been there for me all the time I knew you… I don’t know what to say, honestly… I don’t know where to start or where to end this, but all I want to say is that you have been the best woman in my life…” He pauses and scoffs as he throws his face away, and I find that cute, honestly.
“We have been through a lot in the past, and all that made us where we are today. Thank you for always supporting me… Thank you for loving me and making sacrifices for me. We have finally gotten what we have always wanted, and it’s all thanks to you…” He pauses and bites his bottom lip.
“I don’t believe in forever, but let’s be together for as long as we breathe, Alicia. Let’s get married,” He finally releases the news that I have been waiting for, and my heart drops. I stare at him, my heart beating rapidly against my chest like it’s trying to force its way out. The whole seems to have frozen, and it seems we’re the only living being at the moment. I can literally hear his heartbeat, or maybe it was just my imagination. Did he just propose to me?
“Will you marry me, Alicia?” He asks for the second time, and I find myself nodding my head.
“Yes! Yes! Yes, I will marry you, Alex! I will marry you! I’m going to marry you!” I can’t control the tears of joy that stream down my cheeks as I continue to nod my head. The day I have been waiting is finally here. I have been waiting for this, and I always feared it won’t work out, I thought he would betray me, but no! He kept to his word until the end.
“Let’s get married in two and a half months, Alicia,” He says as he holds my hands, and I quickly nod my head. Yes, I am ready, even if he wants us to get married today…
