Ariel POV
My mouth drops open in shock as I stare at the horrible scene in front of me. No matter what my mom must’ve done to this bitch, she didn’t have any right to pour her water. How dare she!
“Mom!” I call as I rush over to her and help her up to her feet. Her body is already soaked in water, and it hurts me to see her like this. Although the woman has done nothing, but hurt me, but there was a time I was her everything, there was a time she put her life at stake just so she could protect me, and no matter what, she would always remain my mom.
“What the hell did you just do, Alicia? Why the hell did you pour my mom water?” I yell at her at the top of my voice, as I stand in front of the poor woman.
“And what will you do? Do you have a problem with that, you home wrecker?” She snaps at me, and I can’t help the scoff that tears through my throat. I know I shouldn’t be doing this, knowing she can decide to throw me out anytime, but I won’t stand here and watch her treat my mom like this.
“If we have a problem, let’s sort it out, and don’t you dare bring my mom into this. How could you do this to someone old enough to be your mom?” I scream at her as tears stream down my cheeks. Even if my mom was the one that put me through all this in the first place, I still can’t help it. I thought I could hate her, but when I saw her sitting on the floor moments ago and in tears, I couldn’t just stop the sadness that filled every ounce of me.
“Then tell that old hag to stop coming here!” She fires at me.
“Don’t insult my mother, Alicia. I am trying so hard to tolerate you, but don’t push me!” I yell at her, and she scoffs.
“What will you do? Not that you can do anything though. You’re going to leave my house very soon and go back to the street where you belong. You and your mom are just gold diggers that want nothing, but my husband’s money. Just fucking get lost and never come back again! I hate you so much!” She spits on my face and throws the bucket at me before she storms back into the house, slamming the door behind her.
Tears stream down my cheeks as I stare at the closed door, my heart wrench in pain, and my blood boil in rage, but too bad that I’m just an angry toothless tigress that can’t even do anything in this situation.
Wiping the tears from my eyes along with the spit, I slowly turn to face my mom, who is still in tears.
“Are you okay?” I ask her as I scrutinize her body with my eyes, trying to see if she got hurt anywhere.
“Hmm, I’m fine. I’ll be on my way,” She replies to me, and without waiting for another second, she turns and walks away.
I watch her leave until she’s out of my sight, and I finally turn and head inside.
Since Alicia is not in the living room, I head upstairs to my room and crash against the wall as soon as I step inside. The pain is becoming unbearable for me, and it hurts. As much as I want to end all of these by either committing suicide or running away, I have two questions that I keep asking myself. Is suicide an option, especially now that an innocent life is growing inside me? Where will I go from here, I’m definitely never going back to that man’s house.
After crying my eyes out, I finally drag myself up to my feet and walk sluggishly into the bathroom, where I have a long and relaxing bath.
Walking back into my room a few minutes later, I throw myself on the bed, not minding that my body is still wet, along with my hair. The only thing on my mind right now is to get some sleep and cool off my head.
Trying to get some sleep seems so difficult to do, especially now that my head is so full of so many thoughts. Taking a deep breath, I sit up on the bed and rub my hand on my stomach. It’s still like a nightmare how my life suddenly became like this, but what do I have to say? This is my fate which I accepted long ago.
Finally dragging myself from the bed, I take my time to get dressed before I leave the house to take a stroll and get fresh air, if that’s the only way I’ll be fine later.
Since almost everyone must’ve gone to work, the neighborhood isn’t that rowdy and I have all the time to clear my head.
The fresh and soothing air caress my body as I walk down the deserted street. I have no place in mind to go, but I just want to walk far away until I can’t go any farther, then go back home to rest.
My phone suddenly starts ringing, and when I bring it out of my pocket, turns out that it’s Alex that’s calling me.
“Hey, wanna hang out?” His voice sounds through the phone as soon as I answer the call, and I roll my eyes.
“No, I’m not interested,” I reply to him bluntly and quickly end the call. Besides, shouldn’t he be in the office now? Why’s he asking to hang out?
Barely a minute after I ended the call, my phone rings again, and I sigh frustratingly before I answer the call.
“What is it again, Alex?” I ask once I answer the call.
“What are you doing, walking alone on the street? Did your boyfriend break your heart?” His voice sounds through the phone, and I stop abruptly. I snap my head back swiftly to see him standing while holding his phone to his ear. What the hell! What is he doing here?
