voted against it. They settled on a garden wedding in a property that Jacob’s grandmother recently purchased as a gift. The gathering was intimate, and guest were mostly friends and relatives only. Jenny gasped at Blair’s daring design, but some of the male guests lingered on her cleavage.
While she listened to the marching song in the background, her heart almost skipped a beat because, in an hour or more, she would become Jacob’s wife! They’ve been through up and downs in their relationship, but they managed to beat against all the odds. As she began to walk in the aisle, she suddenly remembered her father, who was never kind to her. However, if he were still alive, she would surely ask him to walk beside her.
Blaire tried to compose herself and smiled towards the person who’s waiting for her at the altar. She had so much emotional investment in her predicament that she gasped loudly when she joined him. Jacob Gordon became even more attractive in his wedding suit!
He’s wearing a smooth shirt, buttoned it all the way up, and topped it off with a slim-fitting bow tie, which looked elegant with his nicely fitting dress shirt. The entire outfit, including the vest and pants, has 3 buttons, one somewhat lower on the body than the other. The suit jacket’s body outline is small and V-shaped, which kept the jacket from hiding the shirt even when it was buttoned.
The wide herringbone pattern of the suit made it elegant and graceful in appearance. Although he was wearing a double-breasted jacket, he only buttoned up to three of the four buttons. The jacket was about an inch longer at the back and had no vents, having two pockets on one side and one on the other, as well as a breast pocket that was designed to hold a fashionable pocket square.
There was a tiny difference in the pattern and design of his pants instead of his jacket, which has the same shade of blue but in a distinct pattern. The elegant juxtaposition was accomplished with his shoes. He was sporting a pair of simple toe derbies, which was a type of modest shoe.
That goes without saying, and as an extra nice touch, he’s wearing a magnificent belt, which could be paired with gloves and a hat. Overall, he looked dashing in his outfit.
“Finally,” he whispered to her, and Blaire smiled sweetly at his groom. “Are you excited about our honeymoon?”
“Should I be excited about it?”
“Well, it’s eight,” he jested, and the priest stared at them for a moment, probably wondering what they were talking about when she suddenly giggled in her wedding gown.
When the ceremony was about to begin, a commotion suddenly erupted when an uninvited woman approached Blair. The bride was surprised at the intervention, but her eyes widened as soon as she recognized her! It was like staring in the mirror because they looked identical!
“Mommy?” She called her several times before the woman faded into the air right before her eyes. “Mommy!” She shouted.
“Shhhh, it’s okay!”
She heard him in the background, but she couldn’t open her eyes. She was trapped! She tried to get away, but the woman appeared again. She was about to ask her what happened, but someone smacked her arm, and she jolted.
“You had a nightmare,” he announced.
“Again?” Blair couldn’t believe that since the wedding preparation has started, she always had a nightmare about a woman who looked like her. “I’m scared, baby,” she said to Jacob.
“Don’t be scared, sweetheart. I am always here for you,” Jacob assured the woman that no matter what would happen in the future, he would always stay by her side. “You can always count on me,” he added.
“What if you will fall out of love? I will be alone…again!”
“Shhhh, you are just excited about our union. Come on, let’s sleep some more before the make-up artist arrives.”
Blaire nodded her head in agreement, but for the nth time, she sighed at her worries. “I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep again,” she announced before getting up.
“Where are you going?”
“I’ll just have some coffee on the balcony,” she replied.
In the end, Jacob followed her fiancée and together in the balcony of Blair’s renovated apartment, they had an espresso. “Are you still nervous for tomorrow?” He inquired.
“A little,” she admitted the truth. She had never imagined being married to someone like him-a man with power and wealth. On top of his looks, he has everything! “I still wonder how I got so lucky to have you,” she added.
“No, it was me who got lucky,” he replied, and while looking at her directly in the eyes, he then bent his upper body towards her ear and whispered,” Didn’t you miss me?”
Blair gave him a lift of her eyebrow in response to his question. “Why should I miss you when we are always together?”
Jacob glared at the woman for a moment, but when she grinned and showed her dimples at him, his anger was dissolved immediately. It disappeared into thin air, and the next thing he did was to scoop his woman and claimed her mouth.
After their escapade at the balcony, they returned to their bedroom and slept some more.
In the morning, Blair woke up ahead of Jacob, and she immediately went outside to water her orchids. She was adjusting the water hose when someone pressed the doorbell. Assuming that the people outside were the team of make-up artist hired for the occasion, she immediately went to open the gate.
Jacob installed black iron for the gate; she had seen photographs of black iron gates in literature and on television, which portrayed them as attractive and beautiful. Slowly, she unbolted the lock, and the sound of the hinges could be heard.
As soon as the gate was opened, she came face to face with a stranger who looked familiar to her, but she couldn’t remember where she met her. “Are you lost?” She asked because there’s no way that the woman was the make-up artist.
“I don’t think I am lost, Blair.”
Blair stared at the woman who casually mentioned her name, but before she could ask her identity, she realized that she was staring at her older version. “M-mommy?” She asked, and the middle-aged woman nodded her head.
