“Mr. Walson, I’ve borne enough curses over the years because of you, and people all over Creephia are calling me shameless and a mistress. But what have I really gained? Up to now, you are just the young master of the Walson family, and we have nothing to do with each other.”
“Mr. Walson, please let me go. I’m willing to cut ties with you and return you to Selena. I’m sure this way, she won’t be clinging to me.”
Leah had given up on Dominic, whom she had spent more than ten years trying to win over, and who had been so devoted to her. She was naturally unwilling to do so. But Selena had pushed her to this point, and if she didn’t give up on Dominic, her reputation might be ruined by Selena.
Furthermore, she had invested so much time and effort, but had never been given a fair reputation from the beginning. Leah had her grievances. Dominic had never publicly acknowledged that she was his girlfriend; he had not said a word to the Walson family, to his friends, sincerely stating that she, Leah, was his woman. In Creephia, everyone knew that Selena was Dominic’s fiancée. Even until this moment, she had not captured Dominic’s heart.
In order to outshine Selena, she was willing to lower herself, but since Selena really didn’t care about Dominic anymore, why should she continue to lower herself for a man who had no sense of responsibility? Selena’s current man was a thousand times better than Dominic, wasn’t he?
Leah suppressed her heart’s resentment and anger, and raised her head stubbornly, tears in her eyes, biting her lip with a look of stoic resignation. This was indeed the case. Leah stole Selena’s fiancé, but she never really became Dominic’s girlfriend or his fiancée, except for getting a scolding.
Dominic suddenly froze, his mind in turmoil with panic, heartache, chagrin, and guilt that he should not have doubted Leah because of what Selena said. This woman he had known since childhood had always been gentle and understanding; the vicious one had always been Selena, not Leah.
Guilt and heartache appeared on Dominic’s cold and arrogant face. Still undeterred, he wanted to step forward to grab Leah’s arm, “Leah, listen to me–”
Leah looked at him coldly, and there seemed to be a touch of love-hate in her eyes as she said forcefully, “Mr. Walson, can’t you see what kind of occasion this is today? Didn’t you hear Selena’s accusations just now? Do you have to force me to death?”
Dominic stiffened again, meeting Leah’s icy cold eyes. His heart seized with pain, and he was vaguely alarmed. Such a strange and cold Leah was something he had never seen before. She had always been understanding, gentle, and forgiving. It was Selena who pushed her to this point.
The anger that Dominic had been suppressing in his heart completely exploded at this moment. He turned his head to look at Selena on the high platform and said angrily, “Selena, have you said enough? You’ve always been bent on accusing us of treating you badly, being cruel and indifferent to you. But have you ever reflected on what you’ve done?”
