“I can never fulfill the loss you suffered, and anyhow these things are of no use for me; now I don’t have any family for whom I should work and earn.”
“If I can do this, it will be a great relief for me, so please don’t deny, I will feel less guilty.”
Alex saw the sincerity in his eyes, and that was why he always respected Mr. Morris, and Selena took advantage of it.
After hearing Mr. Morris, Alex said, “Mr. Morris, I cannot decide on behalf of Alice, I will discuss this with and inform you accordingly.”
Mr. Morris nodded slightly and said, “Then I will not disturb your family time anymore, and I will take my leave.”
Just as Mr. Morris and Alex came downstairs, Alice’s Mom helped the maids prepare the dining table, when her eyes fell on the guest.
She smiled widely and walked towards them, and said in a surprised tone, “Senior Morris, is that you?”
Mr. Morris turned to the owner of the voice, and his eyes popped out because of shock, and the words came out of his mouth was, “little Benny, you, how come you are here?”
Alice Mom smiled and said, “Alexander is my son-in-law.”
Mr. Morris was surprised, and said in excitement, “Mrs. William is your daughter?
Alice’s Mom nodded slowly, and said, “Senior, don’t be so formal, she is like your daughter, you should call her by her name.”
Mr. Morris nodded happily; after that, they realized that Alex was also standing there.
Alice’s Mom said, “Alex, actually Senior Morris and I were in the same college in Alaska, but after college, I got married. Senior Morris left Alaska for his further studies and expanding business, so we didn’t get the opportunity to meet after our college.”
Alex smiled politely, and said, “As Mr. Morris is an old acquaintance and friend of my mother-in-law, why not join us for lunch?”
Alex didn’t think of sharing his thoughts at this time; first, he wanted to confirm a few things, which he had noticed.
The next day Alex didn’t allow Alice to go downstairs the whole day, saying that she should rest more.
Alice was irritated, but she can’t do anything, as she knows once he said something he would do the things as he wants, so it’s useless to argue.
Alex said that he had video meetings the whole day, so he would not be able to accompany her.
It was almost sunset when Alex came into the bedroom; Alice sat on the sofa and watched TV, to cut the time.
He came and sat next to her and slowly made her sit on his lap and said gently, caressing her soft white cheeks, asking “bored?”
Alice nodded like a little girl and said, “You were also busy the whole day.”
Alex tucked her hair behind her ears and said, “Sorry, baby, things were unavoidable, now go and change. I have prepared a dress for you.”
Alice’s mother added immediately, “Yes; senior, please join us. Alex prepares today’s lunch.”
Mr. Morris happily accepted the invitation, “Of course, I would love to taste the food from the hands of the biggest business tycoon.”
As they headed towards the dining room, Alex said, “I will get Alice from the bedroom,” after saying that he turned and left.
Alice’s Mom and Mr. Morris headed to the dining room, soon Alice and Alex also joined them.
They had a peaceful lunch; after that, they all sat in the living room and chatted for some time.
After chatting for some time, Alex stood up abruptly and said, “Sorry, Mr. Morris, you can continue to chat, but it’s time for Alice to rest so that I would take a leave.”
Alice liked to chat with everyone, so she didn’t want to go and rest, but before she could deny it, Alex picked her carefully in his arms and started walking towards the stairs.
Alice said, “Tony, leave me I want to chat with them, I like it”
Alex cut her off, saying, “One more word or you struggled in my arms, I will kiss you till you go breathless and that too in front of everyone.”
Alice immediately stopped her action and shut her lips because he had already done this kind of thing in the past, so she cannot take this as just a hollow threat.
In the living room, Mr. Morris and Alice’s Mom chatted for some more time after that, Mr. Morris left.
After putting Alice to bed and tucking her in the blanket, he went to the balcony of the room, dialed Joy’s number, and said that after the call was connected, “I want you to investigate something” and gave a name.
After returning to the room, he handed over a file to Alice and said, “Read this and take your call”.
Alice frowned and slowly sat on the bed taking the support of the headboard, as much as she remembers Alex never asked her anything about his business, then why today.
Thinking this, she slowly opened the file, and she was shocked after seeing the documents that say that Mr. Morris was transferring all his property to Alice.
Alice looked at Alex anxiously, and said, “Tony, what is all this? I don’t need this: why is he doing this?”
Alex looked at her expression and thought that just after seeing this, she is so anxious, then how would she react to his surprise, which he had planned for tomorrow.
Alex said in a plain tone, “I tried to explain to him, but he is reluctant to hear anything.”
Alice immediately said, “I will talk to him personally; I will explain to him that he should not give his hard-earned money to someone else?”
Alex replied lazily, “He said, he doesn’t have any motivation, he doesn’t have any family left, and he will be at ease of quilt if you take it”
Alice said unconsciously, “Then let him have a family.”
Alex looked at her meaningfully and thought of something that came in his mind.
