CHAPTER 48

We decided to postpone our lunch because what we did earlier was more important.
“The contract signing is at two,” I said, leaning on his arm.
“Hmmm… Rhea can handle that,” he replied.
My eyes narrowed as I gave him a dirty look. “No second round, you’re getting used to it, you know?” We’ve been at it since earlier in the limo, and now he wants more.
“Are you tired?” he asked.
“Wow, are you challenging my capabilities?” I retorted, but he just grinned. Of course, he knows me, and I don’t like being challenged. “But I need to go to the contract signing.”
“Just leave it to Rhea,” Samer insisted.
“I thought all the employees were number one to you,” I reminded him, but he suddenly pouted. “Oh, is he sulking?” I teased him.
“It’s just one person,” he said, acting like a child.
“Let’s wait until Rhea finishes distributing the contracts so we don’t look too obvious,” I suggested.
So we waited, and when Rhea started distributing the contracts for the new hires to sign, we subtly left the function hall. It felt like we were two paranoid people sneaking away from an obligation, and we quickly made our way.
“Miss! Miss Jamie!” a woman called out to me, and I had to bite my lip in irritation. “What is it, Rhea?” I asked her.
“Are you coming back?” the woman asked.
“I don’t know, just handle everything,” I said, breathing a sigh of relief when she turned and went back inside the function hall.
Samer and I exchanged glances, and before long, we were both running upstairs. As soon as the door opened, he didn’t waste time and captured my lips.
I let out a soft moan as he nipped at my lower lip. Whatever Samer was feeling at that moment, I felt the same. We were both thirsty for each other. While our lips were locked, he unzipped my dress, and I did the same to him.
When I struggled with the buttons on his polo, I just pulled it off, not caring if his clothes got ruined.
“Samer…,” I whispered his name when we were both undressed.
We both felt the heat of our bodies as he pressed his hardness against me, and I reciprocated. If Samer was aggressive earlier, I wanted to show him what I could do.
I briefly left his lips and moved downwards to his neck. I leaned down to reach the part near his collarbone and licked it. Then, I gently nibbled it, feeling him tighten his grip on my waist.
I wasn’t satisfied yet, so I moved my lips to his muscular chest and peppered it with kisses. When I noticed his nipple, which looked super cute, I tried to play with it using my tongue.
“Oh God…,” Samer groaned at my actions and tugged at my hair.
Seeing his evident enjoyment, I became even bolder. I slowly traveled down his abdomen and briefly paused at his navel, giving it attention. Then, my tongue lingered at the area near his lower abdomen, and I teasingly licked it.
Perhaps Samer noticed what I had in mind because he instinctively held onto my hair. Well, he guessed right. As soon as I began to lick his hardness, he let out a loud moan. I wanted to ask him if he liked what I was doing, but I couldn’t speak.
“You’re killing me, Jamie,” I heard him say as he tightly held my hair.
Kill him with pleasure? Hmmm, sounds good to me, I thought.
I knelt in front of him, worshiping him like he was a divine being. With just one stroke of my tongue, he moaned again. When I looked up to see his reaction to what I was doing, I caught him gazing back at me until he couldn’t keep his eyes off me.
The eye contact alone was driving me crazy with joy. There’s something about sucking him while he looked at me. It made me feel like a pornstar!
Because Samer accompanied me to Stonewick, Brent didn’t get a chance to approach me. Not to brag, but I know why he decided to apply for a job at Khalifa.
But at least now he knows he won’t get anything from me. Samer is the one I love, and that won’t change. I just hope he won’t bother me in the future. If he plans to bother me, it might ruin our relationship!
However, my smile disappeared when I found Kate in Samer’s suite room. I didn’t know whether to smile or frown, but I really didn’t want to see her there.
“Kate,” Samer called her.
“Honey… sorry, I got used to it,” Kate replied.
Used to it? After years of not talking to each other, she suddenly utters the word “used to it”? Why not wait a month before talking again? “You did that on purpose,” I said.
“Jamie, go inside the room. I need to talk to Kate for a moment,” Samer ordered.
I obeyed his request even though I didn’t want to. I wanted to listen to what my ex and Samer would talk about. I’m really annoyed with Kate! Imagine, not even twenty-four hours of happiness with Samer, and she’s causing drama again.
Ghad! She stresses me out!
After an hour of waiting, Samer finally entered the room and gave me a faint smile.
“Was I late?” he asked while sitting on the bed.
“A bit,” I said.
“Sorry, Jamie.” He apologized, but I couldn’t decide whether I should be happy or not.
“Sorry for what?” I asked him.
“For our situation, for making you feel like there’s competition for my heart. Just remember, you’re the only one I love, and if you see Kate here often, it’s because of our children,” Samer explained.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes before speaking to him again. “She’ll see the kids during visitation. Did you not tell her that?”
“I know she also misses our kids. So, I agreed to let her visit often,” Samer said.
I sighed and closed my eyes, contemplating whether I needed to accept that Kate would be part of our lives. Or perhaps, I’m just overthinking this, considering we’re not even married to Samer yet.
As I entered the bathroom, I stared at the Jacuzzi for a few minutes. Maybe if I wasn’t upset, I’d suggest to Samer that we take a bath together and tease him in the Jacuzzi. But my heart felt heavy! A cold shower would do for now to cool down my fiery emotions.
I let out a yelp as the cold water touched my skin. I almost had a brain freeze, but it felt good. I stared at the bathroom wall, not doing anything. I didn’t shampoo my hair, nor did I grab body wash.
I don’t know how long I stayed in the bathroom since there was no clock, but I heard Samer’s voice outside. I turned off the shower, dried my wet hair with a towel, put on a bathrobe, and went out.
“Why?” I asked him.
“I was just worried about you. You took so long,” he said.
“Hmmm, I was just thinking about something,” I replied, my voice tired.
“Is it really a big deal about Kate?” he asked.
I saw the struggle in his eyes, so I forced myself to smile. I didn’t want to see him sad. “No, it’s not,” I said.
“What do you mean?” He furrowed his brow as he questioned me.
“I’ve accepted it,” I said, and he seemed even more confused, scratching his head.
“What?”
“That I’ll always see your ex here. Plus, I’m just your girlfriend, so I don’t have the right to meddle in your life,” I explained to him, and a sudden realization crossed his face.
“Why is it so hard to talk to you?” He raised his voice.
Of course, I was surprised at why he suddenly raised his voice, considering I had talked to him calmly. I even told him that I accepted it. Was there something wrong with what I said? “You’re mistaken, Sam. The truth is I’m actually easy to talk to. Didn’t I tell you I’ve accepted it?” I explained again.
“But did you have to tell me that I don’t have the right to meddle in your life? Did you have to rub it in that I haven’t proposed yet?” Samer fired a series of questions.
Wait a minute! Why does it feel like it’s my fault? What was wrong with what I said when it was true that I’m still his girlfriend, so I should keep my place!
“I don’t want us to fight,” he said.
“I don’t want that either, but I didn’t like you raising your voice earlier,” I scolded him.
“I already said sorry,” Samer apologized again.
“Okay, you’re forgiven,” I replied, but I still glared at him. Oh well, there are times when I can be moody!
