“Now, come, come, Rachellian. Dine with your father,” Lothim said with a welcoming tone as he ushered me while my hands were being clasped with tight metal bondage in front of me.
Hesitant, I only nodded and didn’t dare to say anything. I didn’t dare to fight back as I was saving my energy.
I decided not to be a hard-headed one and must do what it takes not to annoy my father. He had already done some abusive actions to me as it drained me. This time, his behavior changed and he didn’t dare to take drastic actions to hurt me.
It was as if he suddenly changed after that night.
“How’s… the situation outside… um… F-Father?” Damn it! It was hard to even call him that. I even had a hard time calling Claude’s father like that as well as Storm’s father. Now that my real father was here, Lothim informed me that I must start addressing him as my father.
Also, my real name was Rachellian Genesis Lothim. And Rachelle was my nickname. Since he revealed my real name, he kept calling me Rachellian, not Rachelle anymore.
Magnius Lothim was the one who named me who was a cunning rogue for centuries having two degrees of felonies, killing, and annihilating packs and Alphas. As to where his origin was, he was an Omega who killed his Alpha for maltreating him and the rest of the Omegas in that deserted and annihilated pack called Flowing Hunter pack. That was according to the reports and I already confirmed it to Lothim himself.
“You do not need to know what is happening outside, Rachellian. My warriors are already dealing with your… reinforcements.” I secretly gnashed my teeth, wanting to bark but his eminent aura was emitting that if I dare to talk back, Lothim would do anything to hurt me even if I am his daughter by blood.
I wanted to mind link someone if only they were near. I need to let them know that I was here… alive and well. I need them to inform Claude that I was here. He must have been worried about me.
Or perhaps, he was angry at my selfish action. That would be so.
I only did what I thought was right at that time since the Alpha King mustn’t die on the battlefield. Casey would be the one becoming the Luna Queen in her own right if that happens and my brother, Storm would become an Alpha King if that happens until… our son, Cloudy would be the one to inherit the throne.
I snapped back when there was a plate of steak served in front of me. I inhaled slowly upon seeing that there were servants here, specifically women who had slave collars on their necks, who served me the food. Then beside me were two masculine rogues who were supposed to guard me and must keep their guard up because I was known as one of the excellent soldiers who could fight menacingly with or without a weapon handed to me.
“Have you thought about my proposal, Rachellian?”
I turned to him. He was reminding me about the proposal that if I wouldn’t kill Claude, my father would be after the life of my son. A few of his men were starting to look for Cloudy which suddenly made me uneasy.
“What you are asking me to do is committing treason, F-Father.” Fuck! It was really hard for me to address that. “How am I supposed to hide from the eyes of the royal family if I… shall do what you wanted?” I asked.
It was not that I was going to agree to killing Claude. It would also be my death as well. I never intended to kill my mate. Half of my soul would be gone if that happens.
Lothim was doing this in order for me to… suffer. Since he knew that he couldn’t kill my… mother, he expressed his disagreement that Claude was my mate. From the time he knew that the Moon Goddess made an agreement that I would be a sacrificial lamb in order to protect Claude and I would be his fated mate, the Moon Goddess and he argued.
As soon as he expressed his disagreement and said that he wanted the Moon Goddess to date me with the deceased Alpha of the Flowing Hunter pack, my mother abandoned him. He was left heartbroken when I was four years old. That was what he said. It was why it bestowed him with the reason to abandon me in the temple on the Southeast coast.
The heartbroken he left grew into hatred against the Moon Goddess. After that, when he experienced the hell of being an Omega, he decided to kill the deceased Alpha and became a rogue.
Then after that, he became a rogue leader after he started to conquer many packs and slaughtered Alphas, he became a thorn in the royal lycan family.
While being a rogue leader with an outgrowing number of rogues because of ruining the packs and leading them, he started to find me as soon as the Moon Goddess warned him that he must stop killing Her people or else, there shall be a consequence.
He didn’t pay heed to the warning. Instead, he threatened the Moon Goddess that he would kill me so I could halt my mission of being born here. That was why he started hunting the monk who took care of me so he could do what he wanted…
To kill me with his own hands even though I am his daughter by blood.
“You can even live with me. You can even rule the rogues here,” Lothim said as he started eating his steak with a fork and knife. “Or perhaps, we can hide the truth and pretend that I am the culprit. Then you can become the Luna Queen regnant without fail.” He shrugged. “Since you have my grandson who shall be the next Alpha King, you shall be the one handling the throne. That is an easy matter, Rachellian.”
I stayed silent as I started to weigh my words. I needed to be careful that I must not offend him. I must stay away from being tortured under his hands since I need to reserve my energy so I could escape from here or at least, I could manage to fight back with him.
Patience, Rachelle… You trained well and do not let your emotions get the better of you. Compose yourself.
I kept chanting that to my head while I started to eat the steak. While chanting, I remembered something.
I looked at Lothim. “F-Father,” I called his attention.
“Yes?” He arched his eyebrow. I happened to see the scars he had on his face which must be from fighting many pack warriors.
I silenced for a moment before I decided to speak. “From the time Claude had a meeting with other Alpha Kings and Luna Queens from other kingdoms, they said that according to the prophecy, each daughter has a specific deity title,” I paused, trying to test the waters as I wanted to be certain that he was listening properly because I didn’t want to repeat what I said. “Do you, perhaps, know my deity title?” I asked, unsure. “Since you said that… I am the first daughter of the Moon Goddess…”
As soon as I uttered those words, he laughed like something was funny. I blinked, bewildered as I am certain that I did not utter any words for him to laugh like that.
“Is there something funny?” I creased my forehead in confusion. I wanted to know what was so amusing right now and he laughed just now.
He shook his head. But he still laughed to his heart’s content. I even caught his servants exchanging glances like they would think that Lothim had gone insane already.
Now, now… Do not utter that, Rachelle. We must not need to be tortured again. I chanted those words in my head again.
He sighed as his laugh gradually dissipated. He even wiped the tears that escaped from the corners of his eyes. “I have never laughed like that…” He kept shaking his head before his ocean blue eyes landed on me.
Just looking at those familiar blue eyes already made me conclude that he was my father. Even the facial features were the ones I inherited from him. I could be mistaken that I am his female version.
He cocked his head from side to side. “Well,” he paused as he drank the wine from his cup. “Yes, they are right. You also have a specific deity title as an offspring of Her.” He sighed, rolling his eyes. I could tell that he didn’t want to discuss it but it looked like he was left with no choice since I already asked. He gazed up at me and smiled darkly. “You are Rachellian Genesis Lothim. That is your mundane name, Rachellian,” he said in a frigid tone. “But in Her celestial world, your deity name is Ragriel.”
My eyes widened a little. “R-Ragriel?” I parroted. Deity name? Ragriel? What?
Lothim nodded as he placed his elbow on the table and rested his chin on his clenched hand, gazing at me. “Indeed. You are Ragriel. Your deity title is…” he paused and sighed. “You are the Goddess of Mate Bond. Your ability is to connect and break a couple’s mate bond.”
