“She has offspring?” I asked, astonished by what he said.
He nodded. “It’s best if we are not going to speak about this matter in this place.” He looked up to look at his father. “I shall lead my mate there, Father. You can count on me.”
“Very well.” Father glanced at me. “Well, then, I shall take my leave, Your Majesties.”
I mindlessly nodded, acknowledging that he was leaving. “Love.”
“Hmm?” I turned my head at Claude.
I closed my eyes when he pecked my lips. “I shall lead you to that place. Shall we?” he asked softly.
I flinched a little when he gently pinched my flank. “Y-Yes,” I said as I stood up.
“I couldn’t believe that Father knew everything from the very start,” Claude said as we were sauntering our way to the garden as we were holding our hands together.
I cleared my throat and realized that. “And we were acting bizarrely before… It is pretty embarrassing that Father is already laughing at our foolishness.” I chuckled nervously. Just by remembering the time when Father invited me for a tea when I had my day off and Claude came with me to the capital to have some fun.
Claude brought my hand and kissed the back of it. “And we had an embarrassing moment back then. He even risked announcing a decree so you cannot lead the brigade.” He shook his head. “He’s very dramatic and we have to find a way to contradict his decree.” He sighed in exasperation.
I chuckled and leaned my head to his arm, sauntering our way to the temple where only members of the royal lycan family are allowed to come here. “It was exhausting and I cried for it but I shall never forget that ever happened.”
Claude scoffed and grinned. “If you say so, then I shall say I would love to laugh this out with you in the future. We will tell our pups and to our grandpups this hilarious story!” he said in an exaggerated tone as he even raised his other free hand like he wanted to show me the whole world.
I was laughing, realizing that I had never laughed like this before. Even Claude’s laugh. It was a whole different level.
It was like we were already comfortable with each other.
“What?” He tilted his head as soon as we entered the temple and caught me looking at him.
“Nothing.” I smiled, shaking my head.
He creased his forehead. “Right…” he said, unsure.
I found him cute in that expression so I couldn’t help myself gently pinching his cheek which earned him a surprised expression written on his face. “What…” He couldn’t finish uttering his word as he was rendered speechless.
“You looked so cute,” I said. I couldn’t help being honest with him.
Claude blinked, surprised at my words but then he smiled and grinned. “I am flattered that my mate finds me so cute. Then, I can be cuter for you from now on, hmm?”
I playfully rolled my eyes. “Whatever, Your Majesty.” That earned him a short laugh before both of us stayed silent when we were inside the temple where we saw a good-looking man wearing a white cloak had come forth and knelt before us.
“Greetings, Your Majesties. I am Irus Solari, the divine priest of the temple,” he said politely.
I glanced at Claude when his expression changed into an earnest one. “We are here to present to Her Majesty about the representation of this temple,” Claude said, sounding like he was sending a secret message to Priest Irus Solari.
He was the priest who had performed our wedding ceremony. I would never forget that a good-looking man like him could be actually turned into a divine priest. Being a divine priest means you are a messenger to the Moon Goddess.
The divine priests or priestesses were those people who practiced seeking knowledge and message or revelation from a deity which was the Moon Goddess.
Priest Irus glanced at me and deeply bowed his head to acknowledge me. “Your duty has just started, Your Majesty. You will soon learn what you have been looking for.”
“What do you mean?” I creased my forehead from his meaningful message which made Claude turn his head at me. “Duty? What duty? As a Luna Queen? or being a General?” I asked, feeling my heart jumping out of my ribcage.
He drew out a small smile and bowed his head so as not to meet my eyes. “That is the message I received from the past-from the Moon Goddess when I am still practicing and enhancing my divination, Your Majesty.”
I looked at him, shocked. “When was the last time you were associated with her?” I asked, eager to know his answer.
“Yesterday, Your Majesty. I need to offer prayer for her before learning more messages from her,” he answered politely. “Also, she told me to tell you that you need not be eager to know and refrain from being impatient as all things will come naturally.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” I gritted my teeth.
He didn’t say another word and just ushered his hand towards the other door. “This is the way,” he said.
“But-”
“Love.” I flinched when I was about to approach and kept pressing Priest Iru when Claude halted me. I looked at him, being irritated at him. “Calm down. You can’t force a divine priest to say the words that came from the Moon Goddess. Let’s be patient,” he said softly.
“But… I want to know…” I said in a dejected tone.
Claude gathered me in his arms and kissed my temples. “We will know it together. But first, we need to settle the reasons why we are here, alright?”
I stayed silent and thought about it. I was already here. I could gain access to speak with the Moon Goddess but she was bestowing me a message that I must remain patient because I would learn everything soon. I would know why Claude and I were connected and special from the very start and who I really was. And the monk who helped me and brought me to the Dark Soul pack. I want to know more about them.
But why does fate not want me to learn all of them? Why do I need to be patient?
In the end, I surrendered and nodded. “Okay…” I temporarily closed my eyes when Claude kissed my forehead which made my wolf jump in joy.
“Shall we then, Your Majesty?” He offered his hand to me.
I exhaled slowly when I realized one thing right now. Why does he look more gorgeous and handsome these past few days?
“Yes, Your Majesty,” I said with a smile as he kept addressing me as Your Majesty which wasn’t necessary after all.
Claude winked at me before we started following Priest Irus. I noticed that his disciples weren’t here. It was like we had arrived here just in time that no one would see us coming to the underground library. To a next door, we entered and came to see a narrow hallway. Priest Irus faced the stone wall before he pulled down the wall lamp. I gasped softly when there was a door opened there which I didn’t notice immediately if it hadn’t opened.
It could be mistaken that this was just an ordinary wall. It looked crumpled and it was as if it hadn’t been kept well tidy.
But as soon as we entered and Priest Irus left us alone, I couldn’t help my mouth drop when I came to see a chamber that was full of countless books in the bookshelves. Claude gently tugged my hand as he chuckled when he must have seen my reaction coming here for the first time.
The whole chamber was illuminated with warm light while lamps were hanging in the bookshelves.
“Whoa…” I was awed, totally awed seeing this vast space that was full of books. “If you say forbidden library… there are many ancient books kept here, right?” I asked and looked at Claude.
He glanced at me and nodded. “Indeed. They need to be kept here so that no one would dare to ruin the pages of the books. There are also historians’ textbooks that all about war strategies and political knowledge that they shared and wrote in a book.” He shrugged. “Even Father had to write his own perspective when he became the Alpha King so that in the next generation of the lycans, they would also learn how his mind runs when he was running the Waevalon Kingdom,” he explained.
“If so, you are now the newly crowned Alpha King of the Waevalon Kingdom, then are you already working on your book, too? Like writing a journal for example?” I asked as we were sauntering the hallway with bookshelves serving as the wall for us.
Claude sighed and nodded. “From the time I reached my coming of age, it was a requirement that I need to write in my journal every single day and share my knowledge on it.” He glanced at me as he frowned a little. “Even our wedding needs to be written and the things we did on our wedding night must be recorded.”
My eyes widened. “W-What?” I felt like someone had thrown me a bucket of snow underneath my suit. “Are you serious about that?” I felt my cheeks getting flustered right now upon hearing that. “It could mean that… what we did… the foreplay… they had to be recorded?” I asked as I felt my legs getting wobbled all of a sudden.
I felt like I wanted to be hidden right now. I want to be buried six feet below the ground.
Claude stuck his tongue out and laughed. “I am just jesting. Those are private matters only you and I must know.” He winked, smiling from ear to ear.
“Damn you!” I couldn’t help punching his arm in annoyance because he suddenly made me panic about what he said. “Screw you, Claude… Screw you…” I squinted my eyes at him as I felt my ears flaring up in embarrassment for bursting those words out loud.
Claude laughed to his heart’s content. I was about to leave but he stopped me. “I am just kidding, Ray. There is no way I would do that.” He draped his arm over my shoulders and tilted his head so he could look at me. “C’mon… Smile now, my love.”
I shot him a glare. “Don’t call me my love, you annoying Alpha King,” I said, half-annoyed but I felt my wolf feeling giddy because of the endearment he always called us.
He kissed my temple as he chuckled. “You looked so serious since the time we arrived so I need to lighten up the mood.”
“Huh…” I huffed, smirking. “How about you sleep outside of my chamber, Claudian? That is a good joke I would bestow to you.”
His annoying grin turned to a frown. “No… I do not like that.” He pouted.
I smiled sweetly. “Then, you should have thought before jesting. Hmph!” I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes.
“Rachelle… Don’t be like that, please?” he begged.
I glanced at him and smiled sweetly again only to find out that it was a fake sweet smile. “Suit yourself, Your Majesty,” I said as I started to walk away from him.
As I passed by the bookshelves, my heart suddenly beat faster when I was brought to waterfalls. My jaw dropped seeing the bluish color of the waterfall that fell from the river. It was beautiful scenery as I saw some plants, flowers, and trees growing near them like it seemed habitable for people and animals.
“Claude-” I spun around to call and ask Claude about this place when he suddenly locked me inside his arms that made me gasp.
I gasped when I came to see his darkened expression. “Say that I am still sleeping outside your chamber or I will not make you cum until I say otherwise,” he said dangerously that sending chills down my spine.
