“General, where are you going?”
“To the training grounds. I want to see the progress from General Cairo and hear some details,” I answered Jack as we sauntered through the field with my hurried steps.
“But the invitation designer is arriving soon, General.” I heard his sigh as he followed me. “We must not be late. I don’t want to get scolded by His Majesty.” There was distress in his tone that made me turn my head at him.
I smiled sheepishly. “Worry not for we won’t stay there that long, Jack. By the time the designer arrives, we will be there just in time.” I winked at him.
He exhaled sharply. “I’ll never win against you, General Rachelle, didn’t I?”
I chuckled seeing him frowning. “Of course.”
When we arrived there, I didn’t see General Cairo. I even had to ask some of the people, who were here to train, as to where he was after they greeted me. I nodded at them and left the place. But I came to spot the Eagle Mist training on the other side of the field.
I clasped my hands in excitement. “It has been so long since I’ve interacted with them.” I turned at Jack.
“General, we can’t. We have to go back.”
“One last stop. I just want to see how they are going. I want to make sure they are not giving a headache to General Cairo.” I fluttered my eyes, hopeful that he would indulge me again.
Jack rolled his eyes. “It’ll be a short moment. We must head back after ten minutes.” He fished out his pocket watch then looked at me. He nodded, giving me a signal.
My smile grew wider from it. I ran towards them and waved my hand at them. They all stopped their sparring and faced me, kneeling before me. I was overwhelmed that they would still pay respect to me. I’d appreciate them.
“Your Majesty, the Luna Queen.” They saluted me.
“Please do well in your sparring. I shall join you all soon. I will never abandon you all,” I uttered. They nodded which made me smile.
I returned and did what Jack said. We were busy taking care of the wedding while I was taking my etiquette lessons and learning Luna Queen duties. Claude and I were preoccupied with our work and our wedding. Sometimes we rarely see each other.
After weeks have passed, everything is now set. Even the Luna Queen Ceremony was all settled as well. Tomorrow, I will be wed to Claude. I came to visit his chamber before I could take a rest.
“Rachelle? Is there anything that you need?” He opened the door for me and let me in.
I came near him and stopped in front of him. “You will make sure I will lead the brigade tomorrow, right?” I asked in a very low tone.
Claude furrowed his eyebrows. Hesitant, he nodded. “Yes. Everything is already set, Rachelle. I will make sure Father won’t suspect a thing,” he whispered back.
“Thank you!” I hugged him so tight as I sniffed. I would finally lead the brigade after everything.
Claude hugged me back and kissed my temple which made my heart go wild. “Anything for my mate.” I shivered from his whisper.
I distanced myself and looked at him. Then the next thing I did was leave Claude stunned at his standpoint. I pecked his lips before I stormed out of his chamber. My wolf and I were giggling from my impulsive move. I just want to thank him that Claude is doing this for me.
Tomorrow morning, I was woken up by the sudden entrance of the maidservants to get me prepared for the wedding. They really bombarded my chamber and woke me up like there was a war ongoing here in this palace. I was still groggy when they pulled me to take a bath. I only woke up when they really poured me cold water. I almost growled at them if they didn’t tell me that I had a wedding.
It took a few hours before they managed to get me dressed in a very tight dress because of the corset that made my body slim. I felt like they wanted to choke me from this. I used to tie my corset but not like this. This was pretty annoying.
“Your Majesty, you’re so beautiful!” Princess Cherish exclaimed as she came to visit me after she got dressed and had her hair fixed. She doesn’t look like a soldier for today. She looked more of a prim and proper princess.
“Thank you, Your Highness,” I said, blushing. I looked at my reflection in the full-body mirror.
They had me wear a white fancy ball gown wedding and a white veil. My straight hair is being pulled up in a low loose bun hairstyle with silver ornaments pinned in my hair. I had light makeup that highlighted more of my beauty and my baby blue eyes. Until now, I am still awed seeing myself in this look.
The door swung open. Crown Princess Cassandra or Luna Casey entered with her gorgeous dress. With the way she composed and dressed up, it looked more like she came from a royal Alpha blood family.
“I am astonished! You are captivating, Your Majesty!” she also exclaimed as soon as she approached Iris. “I am very sure my older brother will have the same expression as me. Isn’t that right, my dearest Iris?”
“Hmm. Yes, big sister!” Both of them giggled.
I shyly thanked them as I didn’t know what to say. As they think that everything is finished, they already have me go downstairs. The wedding will be held at the assembly hold. After that, we will go to the throne room to do the Luna Queen ceremony.
As the wedding ceremony starts, I will never forget the astonished expression expressed by Claude. I was teary-eyed just by the sight of him, making me and my wolf overwhelmed. He looked so goddamn handsome in his white suit that my wolf drooled over him.
And when I stopped in front of him and he took my hand, I would never forget how Claude looked at me. He looked at me so lovingly that made my heart leap so many times. He never took his eyes off me and focused his stare on me only.
“In the name of our Moon Goddess, I, Claudian Alexander IV, take you, Rachelle Simon, to be my wedded wife. As the Moon Goddess fated us to be mates for each other, I will promise to love and cherish you. I will be your mate and your loving husband who will support and accept you no matter what. I am willing to sacrifice everything just for your sake until death do us part. You are everything I would ask for, Rachelle. I can’t wait to start my family with you and have our pups soon.”
Tears already fell from my eyes as soon as Claude finished his wedding vow which he didn’t let me hear nor know it and wore me my wedding ring. Even my wolf has been crying in happiness right now.
I sniffed and looked up at Claude who was anticipating hearing my vows. I took the ring and wore it to him.
“I, Rachelle Simon, promise to the Moon Goddess to love and take you, Claudian Alexander IV, to be my wedded husband. I will also be with you at all times and be your friend, your mate, and your wife. I will be your supporter whatever you do and will be with you for the times you need someone to hug and tell you that I am always here for you and I will never leave you. We may have a past mistake but I promise I will not repeat the same mistake. You are also my everything, Claude. You are the only man I am willing to risk my life for you. May you become a good husband to me and father to our future pups.”
I saw Claude cry from my vows which also caressed my heart. This day would surely be the day I would never forget. It was my first time seeing him crying in happiness. I would cherish it. I will really cherish it until the day I die.
We infused ourselves into a hot kiss. It felt like the world was ours and no one was around. Our kiss brought me to height, bringing me the feeling that I wanted to be united with Claude. I wanted us to be one soon.
“At last, you are now my wife,” Claude murmured to my wet lips. “I’m happy. Are you happy, too, Rachelle?” He placed his forehead into mine.
I chuckled and caressed his jaw. “Yes. Yes, I am.” I couldn’t explain how happy I was.
I thought I would be feeling miserable at this forced wedding but it wasn’t. I even felt happy, which is the same goes with my wolf.
Claude hugged me after we heard a round of applause. “You will be the Luna Queen later. And a plan is a plan. Hear me carefully as I will announce my decree. I will make my vow come true.”
I hugged him back and nodded. “I trust you. I know you will.” And that, I relied my heart on Claude who promised that he would never break it just as I do.
After the wedding, we had to change our clothes into a ceremonial dress. Claude had to wear ceremonial clothing, a military palace uniform. The same clothing he wore when he was being crowned as the Alpha King.
At one point, Claude was with me the whole time. He wouldn’t leave his eyes off me. He even watched me getting dressed in front of him even though I tried so hard to have him kicked out but he was being stubborn.
He hugged me from behind as soon as I was done getting dressed. “I can’t wait to have you mine later,” he whispered, which made me hold my breath.
I leaned to his chest, laughing shortly. “Behave, Claude. Behave.”
“Hmm…” I shivered when his nose traced the slender of my neck. His actions made me pool down there. “How can I behave if I already married my mate?” he whispered huskily.
I bit my lower lip. My chest rose up and down when the sensation crawled in my skin. I looked at his reflection and I swear I saw the desire mirroring mine which is the same with Claude.
A knock startled us. We turned our heads to see Felix.
“Your Majesties, it’s time.”
Claude sighed in exasperation. “Damn it… Interruption.” I bit my inner cheeks to stop myself from laughing. He shot me a glare. “You will pay for making fun of me later, Rachelle.”
I scoffed. “I’m scared,” I said mockingly.
He rolled his eyes and offered his hand. “Shall we, my dear wife? Let’s have your coronation. Let’s reign the Waevalon Kingdom in this Claudian era.”
Nodding, I smiled and accepted his hand. “Let’s go, my dear husband.” My wolf giggled from what I called Claude. I smiled, feeling satisfied from it.
