“Although she never returned to this house, she always meets me at the mall I casually visit. She came to see me and chit-chat for a while. She is the only person who worried if I’m lonely.”
Fu Yao wanted to justify himself, but something else was in his mind. He didn’t expect Shen Qieyi was taking care of Fu Laoye all along.

“I just want to ask, the two of you …” Fu Laoye wanted to say something but hesitated and stopped on second thought.
Fu Yao knew what Fu Laoye wanted to ask and his intention, but he couldn’t give him an answer.
He didn’t tell Fu Laoye he had just met her that same evening.
Shen Qieyi’s images flashed across Fu Yao’s mind, causing a slight relapse in his heart.

Fu Yao sighed. He was out of ideas when it came to pleasing Fu Laoye.

While reaching for his coffee, he saw his cell phone on the bedside table.
He hesitated for a second before he took the phone. He placed his slender fingers on the screen but didn’t know what to do next.
He opened the text message and started to scroll down to the end. The last text message sent from Shen Qieyi caught his attention.
He remembered it was the first morning he arrived in the United States. When he received the text message from Shen Qieyi, he was not fully awake and soon forgotten about it.
Without reason, he didn’t reply or delete the text message.
He doesn’t know how she knew he had gone abroad. They were far apart, and Fu Yao thought this text message might be the last proof of their entanglement.

She glared at him, ” Just assume I’m blind and ugly.”
“Shen Qieyi, what’s wrong with you recently? You’ve refused to go for a meal and now rejecting my invitation to the banquet. What’s the matter with you? Are you avoiding me? ”
Bai Jingyan had lost his temper and hurled an epithet at her.
Without giving her a chance to explain, Bai Jingyan continued questioning her, ” If I didn’t take the initiative to see you, are you going to forget about me? You’re heartless.”
Shen Qieyi realized he was getting ludicrous as he spoke. She quickly replied, ” Okay, I’ll just go to the banquet with you.”
Bai Jingyan didn’t realize he was frustrated and had lost his temper.
Luckily, Shen Qieyi didn’t have any deep thoughts about his misbehavior. Bai Jingyan cooled down and stopped browbeating her.
After being entirely groomed and dressed up, Shen Qieyi looked into the mirror and was satisfied with her glamorous outlook.
That evening, Bai Jingyan came to pick her up.
Right after he stepped out of his car, he saw a feminine figure standing in front. He was stunned for a moment, then quickly walked forward and waved to her with a smile. ” Why did you come down so fast?”
“I’m not blind or handicapped. Why can’t I come down by myself?” Shen Qieyi was getting back at him for speaking maliciously to her a few days ago.
Bai Jingyan understood what she meant, and they both looked at each other and smiled.
He admired her from top to bottom, her light-skinned tone and each of the shiny sequins on her dress revealing the shape of her chest. A white dress should symbolize purity and innocence, but worn on Shen Qieyi has become a seductive temptation.
He was satisfied with the dress, ” Well, I have a good sense of fashion, right?”
She was lifting her skirt and walking carefully in high heels. So, she was not attentive to what he was asking.
The sky was getting dark when they arrived at the villa. Shen Qieyi was looking at the villa through the window. The illuminated villa gave her the same feeling as when she was in Shen’s family.
Shen Qieyi came back to her senses. She held onto Bai Jingyan’s arm and walked along the red carpet to the entrance.
Since the previous opening ceremony, this was the second time they appeared together in public.
The room was full of men and women from the high society. Chaperoned by the musical sound of the zither, they gathered in groups of three to four persons.
