Bai Jingyan, who stood beside her, turned to see her lost in thought. He followed her line of sight in confusion. He glanced at the headlines and then looked away.
“Fu Yao achieved outstanding results in his overseas market expansion. But rumor had it that he was back in the country recently to probably take over Fu Group…”
He was able to hide his emotion much better than Shen Qieyi. Bai Jingyan lowered his voice so only they both could hear and asked emotionlessly, “Do you still miss him?”
Shen Qieyi’s thoughts were interrupted, and she turned to look at him in a daze.
She did not deny nor confirm, Bai Jingyan tried again.
Shen Qieyi glimpsed at the screen again. On the screen, she saw Fu Yao with Gu Linlang by his side. Shen Qieyi shook her head.
Bai Jingyan didn’t seem to have much of a reaction on his face, but he secretly heaved a sigh of relief.
He took the scissors from the emcee and handed them to her. “Don’t be distracted. Be careful not to hurt your hand.”
Shen Qieyi gave a humble smile.
The opening ceremony ended smoothly, followed by a reception where more people joined.
Bai Jingyan was afraid that she would be tired after the conference in the morning, so he waved his hand and asked someone to hold her. Then he led her to leave from the back door.
Shen Qieyi held the hem of her skirt with one hand and hold Bai Jingyan with the other. Her face was with a worried expression.
“You can ignore the media, but there were a lot of important figures here. Can you leave them just like that?”
“Oh, Doctor Shen is worried about me. Was it because Dr. Shen had any improper thoughts toward me?” Bai Jingyan, who dressed dapper in a fine suit with leather shoes could create a scene like a bandit.
Shen Qieyi said that he imitated what the group of reporters had said just now. He angrily threw the bag in his hand at his back.
“Nonsense!”
Bai Jingyan stepped forward and then turned his head back with a cheeky smile. “Please keep your demeanor as a lady. This is a public occasion.”
“Who’s talking? Did I hear pig roar?” Shen Qieyi covered her smiling mouth and walked past him hurriedly.
“You’re courting death!” Bai Jingyan looked at her back and was annoyed.
Shen Qieyi was in a good mood seeing him irritated.
During the past six months, he had been staying by her side. They were still friends but closer than before.
She was grateful to Bai Jingyan. It was because of his constant support and encouragement that she could change to a new leaf in her life. Her future looked more promising than before.

Shen Qieyi naturally woke up at half past six in the morning.
Every morning, she would exercise at a fixed time and place, finish her nutritious breakfast, then get to work. She had been living a disciplined and healthy life.
The torrent of time pushed her forward. Some things didn’t, while some changed drastically visible to the naked eye.
Shen Qieyi saved money to buy a car. So she would sometimes be late to work by the traffic. But she would enjoy that time by listening to her favorite songs or humming along.
She managed her life well and had numerous pursuers in the past six months but was not impressed with them. Shen Qieyi believed she had not met her soulmate yet.
When Shen Qieyi first heard Bai Jingyan was going to invest in a private hospital, she didn’t react much. She figured it was just another one of his business investments.
A week ago, he dashed into her office saying he wanted to hire her over to his hospital. Shen Qieyi was surprised and subconsciously refused.
“You will enjoy the most advanced medical and health care system. Your talent should not be restrained in this small place.”
Shen Qieyi was tempted by his words and nodded hesitantly.
She was worried that she wouldn’t hold up the position without realizing Bai Jingyan’s yearning for her to take it up.
On the first day of her work, she changed her attire from casual to a more sophisticated one.
In the hospital, she received a lot of greetings and attention from the passersby. She just smiled and nodded.
Today, she led the team for the final interview session for the Andrology department.
She opened the door and walked into the interview room. A group of interviewees in the room stood up and greeted her.
Shen Qieyi nodded and told them to sit down. She then gave a short speech before the interview officially began.
A few young female doctors who were in the same room couldn’t take their eyes off this confident savvy young woman.
She wore an outfit that made her look stunning and elegant today. Her luminous fair skin and beautiful eyes make them even more envious of her beauty and elegance.
Each of the shortlisted interviewees has outstanding achievements in their respective fields of medicine. Shen Qieyi carefully deliberated and exchanged opinions with the other doctors.
When the next interviewee came in, Shen Qieyi took out the resume and glanced at the name. She was stunned for a moment and looked up to her surprise.
Shen Qieyi looked at Mo Yirou calmly. She sat back and observed while she was being interviewed.
Mo Yirou’s and Shen Qieyi never looked at each other. She was left with no other option but carry on with the interviewing session.
Even though she hated her, Mo Yirou kept on reminding herself that she had to seize this opportunity.
Because she knows this private hospital offered attractive remuneration. Mo Yirou also knows working here gives her a great opportunity.
Mo Yirou’s decent appearance and her interview session went very well. All the interviewers were affirming her performance.
Shen Qieyi did not express any opinions.
The interviewing session in the morning has come to an end. Now they were waiting for the assessment scores of each interviewee. Shen Qieyi stared at Mo Yirou’s resume and went absent-minded.
The result has finally been released. Shen Qieyi quickly went through the name list. The selected candidates were the same as she thought, except that the name of Mo Yirou appeared at the bottom few positions.
Shen Qieyi put down the name list, glanced at the secretary, and hesitated.
All sorts of considerations flashed through her mind until she saw Mo Yirou sitting quietly in the room.
At last Shen Qieyi nodded.
“There’s no objection to the final name list. Inform those who pass the final interview to gather in the conference room for a meeting.”
Shen Qieyi brought herself together and entered the meeting room, interrupting several people who were whispering with one another. She then saw Mo Yirou sitting on the innermost side of the room.
Shen Qieyi glanced at Mo Yirou, but she did not look at her. While responding to everyone’s greetings, she walked and sat at the other side of the long table.
After everyone settled in the room, Mo Yirou chose the seat furthest from Shen Qieyi.
Shen Qieyi noticed but did not react to it.
Shen Qieyi discussed and made an orderly arrangement for the upcoming work in the afternoon.
Mo Yirou saw her conducting and controlling the meeting confidently from a distance. She made her even more envious.
The meeting went smoothly, and Shen Qieyi announced the meeting adjourned. Then she called Mo Yirou to stay without showing any concealment.
