Rose was still seated on the floor with the painful tears pouring down her eyes as she held her waist to see if she could stand on her own help but it was so obvious she couldn’t.
The more she tried to stand, the more the tears in her eyes never stopped flowing as she remembered all the moments they shared. She also remembered what the doctor had told them earlier about his condition and him losing his brain.
Immediately all those thoughts ran through her mind, her cry intensified and it was that moment Annabel and Mara snapped out of their dazed state as they hurriedly moved towards her to help her stand and to also to comfort her.
“Don’t cry.”
Annabel said as she rubbed Rose’s back before herself and Mara finally helped Rose up.
Rose stood but wasn’t standing upright. Seemed like she had badly injured her waist after falling to the ground by his push.
The atmosphere was still calm aside from Rose who was crying.
Every other person stood and was unable to move their body as their brain tried and never stopped processing what just happened. They were still in a dazed state when Mr. Evidence finally broke the silence.
He got tired of sitting quiet and seeing everyone’s eyes fixed on him.
“What happened and why I’m I here? Why are all these things fixed all over my body?”
He asked with his cold and husky voice. His eyes were dark and emotionless. Seemed like the new old Mr. Evidence was better than the new one because the new one now looks heartless and wicked.
“And you! How dare you run to me in that manner? Your poor family didn’t teach you how to respect wealthy men? Huh? Today should be your day of grace! Do not… I repeat, do not try this again!.”
He warned with the anger that was obvious in his eyes as he looked at his four bodyguards who stood close to him speechless as he scolded them.
could briefly remember his bodyguards especially Mike, who had lived with him for so long.
“Hey! The four of you…”
He said to his guards and sighed as he pinched the skin between his brows in frustration and anger before he finally let out those words that hung on his throat.
“Hey! The four of you wanna lose your job? Why did you allow this thing touch me?”
He asked in anger.
Rose, hearing Mr. Evidence’s words, her face turned red as those tears never stopped threatening to drop. What could she do if not stop those tears from dropping and become a strong woman she had always been, starting from the day she saw her parents last.
Mr. Evidence stared at each and everyone of their faces as he spoke again.
“Why I’m i here and why are some faces looking familiar? Why I’m i struggling to remember things? I can’t seem to remember the last thing i did.” He asked.
Mr. Evidence’s brother cleared his throat before he spoke.
“Seems like you ‘re suffering from Amnesia. Hmmm…” he said as he moved towards Mr. Evidence before he cleared his throat again and continued his statement.
“You have a memory disorder, brother.”
“Memory disorder? How serious is it?” He asked.
“We will find out from the doctor soon.”
Mr. Evidence’s brother replied and with the anger in Mr. Evidence’s eyes, he spoke in anger with a loud and oppressing voice.
“Take me home! Call the doctors and nurses to come and unplug this stuff from my body. I’m uncomfortable with all of this! Call them now! Do it!”
He ordered but since the doctor was already there, he decided to reply to Mr. Evidence.
“I’m sorry sir, you can’t”
He walked closer to Mr. Evidence and bowed, showing some sign of respect before he let out a sigh of relief as he spoke again. Mr. Evidence focused his gaze on the doctor and was curious to hear what the doctor had to say.
His eyes never left the direction where the doctor stood as he asked.
“Why can’t I? Aaah?” Asked Mr. Evidence.
“We can’t do what you ask for… I mean… you need to rest. One week is enough for you to be perfectly okay. Your recovery was by the grace of…” he scratched his shinny skull before he continued talking.
“Your recovery was by God’s grace and… we can’t allow you to take such a risk by going home now.”
The doctor said to Mr. Evidence as Mr. Evidence gave him a murderous look and immediately the doctor saw those dangerous look that looked so scary, he quickly moved backwards. He moved very far from Mr. Evidence. At least, in that way, he was sure that a slap won’t get to him if any was thrown to him.
That was the side of Mr. Evidence everyone had been avoiding to see and that was why they preferred not to say a word but Instead, they stood mute as they watched the painful and scary scene before them.
In frustration, Mr. Evidence spoke.
“You all should leave.”
He ordered and as soon as everyone was about to leave, spoke.
“Wait.”
He ordered again as everyone stood still.
“Hey! You! I mean the slim one!”
He pointed at Crystabel.
“Every other person should leave. She is the only permitted person to stay. I love your kind.”
He said as Rose and Crystabel looked at each other. Rose couldn’t hide the pain in her eyes. She felt her heart was about to jump out from her chest as she watched the only man she loved admire someone else.
On the other hand, Mike, Daniel, David and Mr. Evidence’s brother couldn’t believe what they thought would happen.
Their expression showed that they already knew the reason he had asked Crystabel to stay behind.
‘This shouldn’t be what I’m thinking.’ Mike spoke inwardly to himself.
They all stood in awe as Mr. Evidence spoke again.
“You all didn’t hear what I just said? No one should test my patience.”
He spoke in anger and as soon as everyone one heard him say that, they started walking out of the room.
Everyone had left the room and was now walking towards the reception and because Annabel was the last person who left the room, she was still behind everyone else as she heard a voice speaking with anger. That voice was coming from Mr. Evidence’s hospital room. The words weren’t clear but it was obvious that the person talking was angry with someone. No one noticed that, She was the only person who did.
Annabel, hearing that angry voice, decided to turn backwards and that was the moment she realized that Rose didn’t come along with them. Seems she was still inside the hospital room with Mr. Evidence and Crystabel.
Unto realizing that, She hurriedly walked back towards the hospital room.
Inside the hospital room…
Rose was still standing as she walked closer to Mr. Evidence, stood before him and spoke in tears.
“Please don’t do this…”
She pleaded and knelt before Mr. Evidence.
Mr. Evidence on the other hand wondered the reason for her pleading as he replied.
“I didn’t ask you to stay. You can leave now. Maybe, next time, it would be your turn to satisfy me. For now, I want her.”
He spoke as Rose continued to cry.
That was the scene that caught Annabel’s eyes as she walked into the room and raised Rose from her kneeling position. Trying to uphold her.
Still crying, Annabel cuddled her for some time before she held her hands as they both walked out of the room with the door shut, leaving Crystabel and Mr. Evidence all by themselves.
After a while, Rose and Annabel were already outside, walking towards the rest to meet them up but unfortunately, everyone had already gotten to the reception as they sat and waited for Rose and Annabel.
While they sat, Mara sighted Annabel and Rose walking towards them as she said;
“Here they are.”
Mara said and pointed at the direction Annabel and Rose were coming from and as everyone heard Mara say that, their eyes immediately diverted towards the location her hand was pointing to.
They all looked towards that direction and as soon as their eyes met Annabel walking with Rose and trying to calm her friend, they all felt pity for her and wished they could do something to at least help the issue on ground.
After some time, Annabel and Rose had already gotten closer to where everyone were all seated as Annabel made Rose take a seat and when Rose did, Annabel sat next to her, still trying to stop her from crying.
“Don’t cry. Everything will be fine soon. I’m sure once he remembers everything, he will never forgive himself for this.”
Said Annabel as she caressed Rose’s hair before Mara finally spoke. Seemed like Mara had completely dazed out of a confused state.
“Sister.”
Mara said as she moved towards Rose and when she got there, she caressed Rose’s face before she sat next to Rose and continued her statement.
“Sister, Annabel is right. Don’t cry, okay?” She spoke as she wiped Rose’s tears with her white handkerchief.
