“Tell Me, what’s the problem? Did Mr. Evidence hurt you?” Annabel asked as Rose said “no”.
Annabel, hearing Rose’s reply, got curious and wondered what had really happened. ‘If Evidence hadn’t hurt her feelings, what now?’ She asked herself inwardly before Annabel decided to speak out.
“If he didn’t do anything to You, who Did? Just tell me so I can put that person where he or she belongs. Tell Me, sister.” Annabel said as she heard Rose’s sob before Rose finally replied.
“Sister, Mr. Evidence is in a coma and he has just a 20% chance of survival.” She said and burst into tears.
Annabel was shocked as she shouted, drawing David’s attention.
“Mr. Evidence is in coma!?” Annabel spoke so loud that David had to rush towards her to know the Evidence she was referring to. He wanted to be sure if it was the Evidence he knew or another Evidence. He got closer to Annabel as he looked at her in shock. His eyes were filled with curiosity. It was obvious that he was becoming too impatient to wait for Annabel to end the call so he would ask her the questions running through his mind. He was still standing close to Annabel when he heard her ask Rose some few questions but it was so obvious that Rose’s tears didn’t give her the opportunity to answer Annabel’s questions.
“What happened to him?” Annabel asked and waited for Rose’s reply but since she got none, she didn’t bother to question Rose about it because she already knew that Rose was going through a lot at that moment.
“Where are You?” Annabel asked.
“I’m at the hospital and Mike is here too. Last night, I tried reaching out to David but he wasn’t picking up. I then remembered that you were with him and I also didn’t want to disturb you, that was why I didn’t call you.” Rose said.
Annabel could now remember what happened between herself and David last night and that could be the reason he didn’t pick up when Rose had called. She was sure that David hadn’t checked his phone yet to see if he had missed a call.
“When he wasn’t picking up, that was when I called David.” Rose said as Annabel looked at David before replying to Rose
“Sorry Sister, he wasn’t with his phone and I’m sure he hadn’t checked if he missed a call yet.” Annabel said and when David heard Annabel’s words, he hurriedly walked towards his phone and picked it up, only for him to see 7 missed calls.
He opened his phone and saw that he had missed a call from Mr. Evidence but it was Rose who actually called him with Mr. Evidence’s phone.
He hated himself for missing such an important call as he threw his phone on the bed and walked towards Annabel as Annabel asked;
“Which hospital are you in? We are coming right now, just send me the address after the call okay?“said Annabel.
“Okay.” Rose ended the call while Annabel was impatiently waiting for the hospital address and walking towards the wardrobe to dress up as David asked.
“What happened to Evidence?”
“No idea baby. She couldn’t say a thing. She was crying all through. I’m waiting for her to send the hospital address so we can go together. Just dress up while we wait for the address.” Annabel said.
After sometime, they had already finished dressing and Rose had already sent the Address to Annabel’s phone and immediately they recieved it, they went straight to the car and left, heading towards the hospital.
Half an hour later, Annabel and David had already arrived at the hospital and were now looking for Rose and Mike because of the little crowd they found at the hospital. They got Confused on where to find Rose and Mike as Annabel brought out her phone to call Rose but that was the moment she sighted where Rose and Mike had stood, waiting for their arrival. Immediately Annabel saw them, she placed back her phone into her purse as herself and David hurriedly ran towards Rose to know what’s really the problem.
“Hey! What’s the issue?” Annabel asked.
Immediately Rose heard that familiar voice, she looked towards the direction where the voice came from and then, she saw that It was her dearest Annabel. She had arrived at The hospital already. Rose, seeing Annabel walking towards her and was already getting close to her, it was as if the tears she had held for long suddenly poured as she ran towards Annabel and hugged her passionately for a while as she spoke;
“Sister…” Rose sobbed as Annabel tried cuddling her and trying to stop her from crying.
“Shhhhh, don’t cry, okay.” Annabel said as she caressed Rose’s hair.
“Sister… Mr. Evidence is in a coma.” She said and burst into tears. “I’m so scared Sister, he has just 20% chance of survival. I don’t want to lose him Sister. Please help me. You are a doctor please do something. Do something sister please…” she continued crying.
Annabel on the other hand felt pity for her dearest Rose. Seeing Rose in pain pierced her heart. Annabel couldn’t bear to see her dearest Rose in Pain. Annabel was known to be one of the best doctors in the United States of America. She had good records in the past and people respected her for that.
Annabel, still watching Rose’s tears flow, broke her heart as she made a promise to Rose.
“Don’t cry Sister, I will do my best to see that he is okay. Don’t cry please. I promise, sister, just trust me in this.” She said as she continued to cuddle Rose and stop her from crying.
It was just a promise! What kind of best would she do to save someone who had just 20% of survival? What best?!
Meanwhile, after sometime, Annabel saw that Rose was calm now as she then decided to ask.
” What’s wrong with him?”
“He had a brain tumor and blood cancer. The doctor said they had successfully done the operation on his brain and also for the blood cancer but the problem here is that he is in coma and the doctor isn’t certain on whether…” she sobbed and some little tears dropped before she continued her statement. “The doctor isn’t certain whether he would make it or not.” She said and embraced Annabel. “Sister he has just 20 percent!” She teared up.
Annabel, hearing Rose’s words, became emotionally down. She knew that nothing could be done at this stage to save him but she already promised Rose! It was a promise and it shouldn’t be broken! She felt really bad and couldn’t imagine how Rose would feel if she found out that nothing could be done about Mr. Evidence’s situation. She wondered how she should tell Rose that Mr. Evidence surviving this would be a miracle. Annabel also knew that Rose was aware of the kind of situation Mr. Evidence is in but the issue was that she had refused to accept the fact that nothing could be done!
As all these things ran through Annabel’s mind, she suddenly got the urge to cry but she couldn’t because she felt that crying in front of Rose would make Rose feel hopeless. She held the tears from dropping and took a sigh of relief before asking.
“Where is Mr. Evidence?”
Rose couldn’t speak.
Annabel didn’t want to bother her with more questions so she didn’t ask her any more questions but instead, she sighted where Mike and David stood. They were discussing. Mike was telling David the situation on ground as She and Rose walked towards The two men. David and Mike.
When Annabel and Rose got to where the two men were, they both stood next to David.
“Hey, what’s up? What’s going on? Where is Mr. Evidence?” She asked and it was obvious that her questions were directed to Mike as Mike replied.
“Over there.” He said and pointed towards the direction where the room in which Mr. Evidence was in was located. He started walking towards that direction as David, Rose and Annabel followed him.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Daniel and Mara were still inside a hotel room. This time, they were playing a game. Mara could now remember that Rose’s number wasn’t going through when she tried calling her earlier as she then decided to try calling again.
She picked up her phone that was laid beside her as she called Rose’s number but to her surprise, it was the same result. It wasn’t connecting. She decided to try the second time but when it didn’t go through, she borrowed Daniel’s phone and unfortunately, it still didn’t go.
“Her number isn’t reachable. I wonder what kind of environment she is in, where the network is so bad and not allowing her to receive calls.” She said as she stretched her hand and gave Daniel’s phone back to him.
“You can try some other time. Well, let’s go swimming.” He said.
“Huh? Swimming? I don’t know how to swim, baby. I don’t want to drawn.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll teach you and trust me, you won’t drawn okay?” He said.
Mara didn’t want to go, she was having a bad feeling and she felt reluctant about going for swimming but how would she reject his offer? She felt it wasn’t right to do so.
“Okay, I’ll go.”
She said as they both went to get ready for their pool party.
