Did You Shoot Me

Book:CEO'S OBSESSION Published:2024-6-2

Since it was morning, Evidence was already at the office, sitting like a god he was, when he called Mike and Stephen to go deliver some stuff to someone. On their way to their destination, they were ambushed by a group of masked men. Mike was able to escape but it was so unfortunate that Steven was unable to flee with Mike.
“Did you just shoot Me?” Stephen asked one of the mask guy.
“No, fool, I just cuddled you.”
“You better kill me. If you don’t, your little mistake will haunt you forever. Your. Little. mistake. will. take your …” something interrupted his statement.
He received a hot slap, causing him to bleed from his mouth.
“Tie him up.” The leader of the gang instructed as he gave him a kick and another thunderous slap. Making him go down his knees.
“Ok boss.” The other two responded.
Immediately the order was given, they both rushed towards Stephen to do as they were instructed but it all happened so fast.
They heard a loud and deafening thud. The gang leader wondered what it could be. Before he could process the scene before him, he saw that the two of his men were already lying helpless on the ground. It was obvious that they were unconscious.
‘Did he take down these two fools all by himself with his injured hand?’ He asked within himself.
“Don’t be surprised. I already told you that, not killing me right then will be your biggest and greatest mistake.”
The gang leader was still, he was shocked. He couldn’t speak or move. He kept calm as he tried bringing out a gun quietly while he listened to Stephen.
“Why are you so quiet? Huh? You suddenly turned…”
There was a gunshot. The gun was shot three times and it happened so fast that he wasn’t able to dodge the bullet.
“…”
The atmosphere became calm, a person could hear the sound of a falling pin at that Moment. The ground was filled with blood. Lots of blood. 3 lifeless bodies were laid on the floor. The police could arrive at any moment and where could he hide? Maybe his godfather would protect him as usual.
Few moments later, his phone rang.
On the phone,
“Hello boss. Yes sir. It all happened so fast.”
“Where are those fools?”
“Boss, they’re here. I already placed them where they belong but I was shot at my hand.”
“The police will arrive soon. Find yourself back to my office so you can be treated. Mike and Sammy will meet you up at that junction. They ‘re coming to pick you up. Be strong.”
“Ok, boss.”
Stephen turned off the call and headed towards the junction.
At Evidence office,
The three men had arrived already and Stephen’s injury had been taken care of.
Evidence called his 20 men as they stood before him.
“Who sent them?”
“Boss, i didn’t get the chance to ask. They died out of my self defence. I was trying to protect my self. The gang leader tried shooting me the second time after he saw his men lifeless. I had to use the gun on him to avoid another bullet going inside of me. I’m so sorry boss, I know I messed up.” He apologised.
“….”
Evidence was mute. he stood, placing his two arms inside of his pocket, walking to and fro. His aura was signifying death, blood shed and revenge. But how could he have his revenge when he doesn’t know who the attackers were. He needed concrete evidence before striking.
“Tell me, did you see their faces?” He asked.
“No boss. I’m so sorry.”
“What do you guys think? Do you think those men came from Deon?”
“Boss, I think so. Let us strike” Mike replied.
“Mike, I don’t think we should make a conclusion yet. Boss, you have many enemies. You ‘re the enemy of the state. This word is enough to describe this. Not everyone is happy with you. I’m not saying we shouldn’t strike, all I’m saying is, we must not turn into war.” Said Sammy.
“Yes Boss, he is right. We should investigate before striking.”
Evidence stood mute, listening to the opinion of each and everyone of them when suddenly Sammy took permission to go make use of the restroom.
“I wanna make use of the restroom please.”
“You can go.”
“Thank you boss.”
At the Restroom,
“Why are you calling me? You want to put me into trouble? I told you I was going to call you so why did you call?”
“Where is my money? Three of my men are gone because of your selfish and stupid plan.”
“They pulled the trigger. That wasn’t the plan.”
“I need my balance. If Deon should find out about the reason of their death, I will be dead as well”
“Better. If he doesn’t, ill do it myself for putting me through this. Your men failed the mission, So tell me, what money are you even talking about? I’m giving you nothing.” He replied calmly with a voice of whisper.
“I see. You are going into a lion’s Den. Pay me my balance or else…”
At the top of his voice, he replied.
“Or else what? What will you do? Huh?” He then realised Evidence and other men would hear him if he wasn’t careful and he decided to maintain his whisper tone.
“We had a deal but your men did it their way. They were supposed to take the fucking money and leave and not pulling the trigger on anyone. It was a mess! Evidence will strike soon and if he should know who was behind this, then Rip. I’m gonna kill you first!. Your men failed the mission. They made it messy so nothing for You.” He whispered and ended the call and left.
At Evidence office,
“So Boss, what are your plans? What are we going to do?”
“You all should stay alert. Don’t go out in two any more, always go in group. Secondly, guns shouldn’t be far from any of you. I bought many and I’m sure it’s more than enough. You all should be alert.”
“Okay boss.” They all replied.
“I need to think now, you all can leave. Call me any of those staff, tell any of them to see me in my office. I need a relaxed brain to think!” He instructed.
“Ok boss.” They all left.
