“Arthur’s part in our plan is over…” Judith voiced out as she fixed her gaze on Morris. “If you want to get rid of a man like him, you have to catch him unawares, when he least expects it”
“Since you have said we don’t have to kill him, what method do we use to get him out of here for good, without my personal board members following him?” Morris scratched his head, a confused look on his face.
Judith smiled cynically “All you have to do is to put him in jail”
“What?” Morris snapped, glaring at her “What do you mean by that? We both know Arthur Reeves is a simple man, he would never commit a crime”
“Exactly…” Judith smirked and shifted closer to Morris “… Make him commit a crime. That’s all you have to do”
Understanding dawned on Morris as his eyes widened in shock. Glaring at Judith, he scowled at her “You want me to ruin the life of an innocent man by implicating him and throwing him in jail?”
“You’ve already started ruining Patricia’s life slowly over the years, so why are you acting surprised like you have never done it before?….” Judith eyed him, slightly irritated by his fake ‘pretense’. “… It seems you have forgotten what you went through before you could take over this company, right? So i guess it’s better if Arthur Reeves takes half of your board members and builds a better company”
Morris sighed. Back then, when he made the deal with Arthur Reeves, he believed he would come up with a simple plan to send Arthur Reeves away from Imperial Hub Limited. He only wanted to use him to grow his company to a billion dollars in networth and get rid of him after. His plan had always been to end things with Arthur Reeves ‘peacefully’. Not the way Judith was suggesting….
The idea of killing him or throwing him in jail had never crossed his mind. He didn’t really like Judith’s suggestion but it looked like it was the only way to get Arthur out of his way. He never expected Arthur Reeves would be so good at growing the company that now, so many employees wanted to leave with him, wanted to work for him. It was going to cause a serious loss to Morris’s company, he could not allow that to happen.
“So how exactly am I supposed to make him commit a crime without him actually committing that crime? What plan did you come up with?” Morris asked.
“It’s simple, though the process is not easy…” Judith swayed her hand as she explained the details. “… the plan is to make him a culprit in a serious case, something like drug trafficking, child trafficking or a rape case th-”
“Judith!!” Morris snapped, making her jerk in shock.
“What is it?!”
“Isn’t that too brutal? Rape? Child trafficking?” Morris glared at her, shocked at the type of ideas going through her mind. “Are you this desperate to become the chairwoman of Imperial Hub Limited? Because you think he is taking your place as the co-owner of the company?”
“You can say whatever you want, Morris!” Judith yelled in defense, glaring back at him “You made a plan with me years ago that you would marry Patricia just to take over her company and when you build the company to a billion dollar network, you would kill her and marry me. You said we would lead the company together after everything, but what did you do?”
Morris remained silent, looking at her as she ranted angrily.
“You went against our plan so many times. First, you got Patricia pregnant. You told me you would make sure she never has a child for you! And not just that, you signed that stupid contract with her that would make George become the final CEO of this company in the end. If you never got her pregnant, she wouldn’t be able to use George to hold you down. It’s all your fault, Morris! So don’t blame me for getting impatient and coming up with a brutal plan to destroy Arthur Reeves. It’s all your fault at the end of the day!”
Morris exhaled, his head aching from everything. She was right, he had made promises to her, he had been so confident that things would go his way at that time. But everything had flipped, so many obstacles to get to this point. He was also getting impatient.
“I am aware of my mistakes. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I promise I’ll make it up to you, Judith” Morris whispered, knowing that the first way to ‘make it up to her’ was by getting rid of Arthur Reeves.
Judith glanced at him and looked away. She wasn’t going to believe him until he did the right thing. “So where do we go from here?”
“Tell me the plan in detail. I’ll do as you said. Whatever happens to Arthur Reeves is for our own good. He is useless to us now”
“Really? You will follow my plan?” Judith asked again, not believing him.
“Judith, trust me this time. I will”
And that was all it took for Judith to reveal the plan that ruined Arthur Reeves’ life. “You have to set him up somehow, if accusing him of rape and child trafficking seems too much, then let’s settle for drug trafficking….” Judith whispered, a cynical smirk on her face “…. I have told Raymond to look for someone in Preston bank who can help with the next step. He’ll get back to us soon”
“Why do we need someone from a bank?” Morris asked, clearly confused.
“To process a fake payment that would be used to implicate Arthur Reeves. Raymond is going to find a banker who is desperate for more money. We’re going to take a huge amount of money from our funds and tell this banker to process a fake transaction that would show up with Arthur’s name to make it look like he received illegal money.”
Judith told him everything she had come up with, every part of her plan. From hiring a desperate banker to the fake transaction alert. She made it clear to him that he had to bribe the Head of the police department with a good amount of money so he would ‘refuse’ to carry out a proper investigation.
Morris took her words to heart. He was a jealous man. Jealous about the fact that Arthur Reeves had managed his own company better than he ever had.
He hated anyone who made him feel incompetent. For him, that was enough reason to bring an end to Arthur Reeves.
