Alpha Ben , walked helplessly down the hall , his mind filled with the thought of knowing who Mr Anonymous was , the same person who had threaten him all , along . The same person who made him threat Daphne so bad and who had made him does everything against his will. The fact that Daphne consider him to be his elder brother make him more devasted. He strolled through the backyard, alone morning in his thought he admire the beautiful flowers around him.
His mind was damn occupied that he didn’t noticed the present of Josiah around him. Josiah who had be watching him for a while tapped on him , he jerk to reality frighten by his touched . He smirks when he averted his eyes to the figure and it was no other person than Josiah .
“Old habits still stand ?”Alpha Josiah sighs , his mind flashed back to when they were still kids with their best friend, who they had lost since they were child .
“I guess none of us had changed.”He said , staring at him.
“What’s border you?”Josiah asked , seeing how worried he had been since this morning after his visit with Austin , he was left with no choice than to ask him.
“Guess you also know about Daniel being Mr Anonymous?”He asked , directing his gaze towards him. with his eyes situated on him.
Josiah coughs out in pretense, not ready to answer the question. He made an excuse to leave but the alpha last words stop him.
“Daphne , she admires you a lot . How come you both are so closer now than ever.”He questioned.
“That is because you abandoned her , when she needed you all because of some simple threat.? He responded, taking his leave, still backing him.
Alpha Ben sighs , After a while he decided to visit Daniel , knowing he was Mr Anonymous and knowing how close he was to Daphne , he feared that he might harm her one day and he wouldn’t allow him do that to his mate . Not at all and not under his watch .
Taking the road that lead to the alpha chambers , and after walking for just some Minutes he stop at the entrance of Daniel chamber , when he heard some giggle coming from the room . He soon stop , drawing closed to the door , he decided to listen to whoever it was , that is keeping him busy and also his accomplice In his world of crime .
“I guess he will be so shocked when he finds out who you are ”the faint voices of Maria Echoes through the door .
Alpha Ben, who was shocked to have heard Maria’s voice, was very bitter and flabbergasted when he heard Maria’s voice .
He soon began to have a doubt about Maria being an accomplice with whatever that has been happening in the pack.
“How come he never noticed you for just once , is he blind or something?”Maria spat out , giggling at the thought of that .
“I never felt bad for whatever happened , I only felt hurt that Daphne was involved because of that cold hearted fool.”He smirks , Unable to control his anger .
“Calm down, will you? Aren’t you saying all these because of your feelings for Daphne ?”Maria asked , feeling Abit irritated.
“I love her though, but she chose him over me . Our life had always been a competition right from high school. isn’t That was why he couldn’t defend me “He asked rhetorically.
His anger taking the best of him , his mind flashed back to the incident that happened a long time ago and how Alpha Ben had ignorantly betrayed Their friendship.
“I didn’t do it , Ben Please , Tell them I wasn’t the culprit. Tell them I only wanted to saved him .”The voice of the little boy cried out , to the crying boy In Front of him . Who kept mute and was unable to say something.
“If Only he had said something that day , then I would have been with my family. None of them would have died “Daniel said as a tear dropped from her eyes .
Alpha Ben was damned shock when he finished his last statement. His mind immediately flashback to when the were child and the event , that had taken place. Unable to stand it , he staggered backwards. fighting to catch his breath , he walked away slowly with a drops of tears in his eyes .
His memory was clouded with what he had done 15 years ago and how the full family of Mr James was wiped out , followed by his Best friend Ken , who was now at his pack as Daniel.
Alpha Ben was deeply hurt and , he suddenly regret his actions. But then again he wasn’t in the right sense if mind to saved his friends when he was under a threat and his entire generation including the pack was to be wipe out . He needed to keep quiet in other to saved the pack and his family, but how can he explains that to him now . Everything was too late now , and also Daniel had him wrapped in his hands , due to the mistake he had made a long time ago .
Only Daniel knows about it and that’s how he was able to play Mr Anonymous to trick him till the end . The secret he had been keeping for long is about to be voiced out under his watch . When that happens he would lose his entire pack and also his mate , and that he will not allow to happen, yet he can’t save both .
Walking down the hall , he went back to his Chambers with a heavy heart . Daphne opened the door , she was ready to go out when she saw the sad and unhappy face of the alpha who stared deeply into her.
He soon staggers to her and then , embraces her in a tight hug , causing Daphne to be more shocked than ever . The alpha couldn’t let his titles ruin him this time around.
He wept bitterly on Daphne’s shoulder as she tapped on his back , comforting the heat broken Alpha who had let his guard down .
Daphne on her part was shocked to see the alpha crying heavily, she had never seen him this sad and lifeless ever since she moved into this pack .
She was shocked that he was this sad and unhappy. He soon became calm after a while, Daphne stares at him , ready to ask more questions on what was wrong with him . But he draw her closed and then, slowly, crashed his lip Against hers , kissing her hungrily like his life depend on it.
Daphne reciprocates the kiss, they both kiss passionately, unable to get enough of each other , Since they have been longing for each other.
Alpha Ben breaks the kiss as they gasps for breath , hugging her closed to himself again.
“Promise me you won’t let me go no matter what , please don’t let me go .”He said , his pain and broken heart isn’t giving him the chance to be an alpha this time around.
“I promise, I will always stay by you till the end”Daphne Responded, hugging him back .
They stayed in that position for some time before he finally let her go , after so much Assurance from her . Although she wondered why he wanted her to make so many promises to him .
