The day continued until eleven o’clock at night, when they were about to go to bed and, as usual, talked about their busy day. In the middle of their conversation, Vega suddenly felt a slight pain in her stomach.
She immediately held her stomach, but as time went on, her stomach hurt more and more. Not long after, sweat dripped down Vega’s face and body, and Vega’s face turned pale.
Vega’s weak hand immediately grabbed Alberto’s hand. Seeing that, Alberto immediately asked about what happened. “Honey, what’s wrong?”
She immediately complained of pain in her stomach as she held her stomach. “Honey, my stomach hurts so bad. I can’t stand!”
“Okay. We’re going to the hospital now!” invited Alberto.
“Okay, Honey.” After that, they immediately changed clothes and put on sandals.
Then, Alberto took the car key. Alberto then embraced Vega as they walked slowly to the parking lot. He was afraid that Vega would faint later.
After they arrived in front of Vega’s car, Alberto immediately opened the car door for Vega, and after that, Vega entered and sat in the middle seat. Then, Alberto got into the car.
He sat in the driver’s seat as he put his seatbelt on. After that, Alberto drove Vega to Brazon Hospital.
Arriving at Brazon Hospital, Alberto immediately drove his car to the parking lot at the sala de emergencias. After that, he looked for an empty place to park Vega’s car.
After parking Vega’s car, he immediately went out of the car. Then he asked the security guards to take his wife to the sala de emergencias.
“Security, please! My wife is very sick!” Alberto complained.
Then, the security guards ran to him. Then, Alberto showed Vega lying down on the middle seat.
“Please wait! I’ll find the bed first!” A security guard immediately ran to find a bed, while another waited beside Alberto. After he found the bed, he immediately took it to Alberto.
“Honey, let’s sleep here!” Alberto’s orders.
“No need, Honey. I’m still strong,” Vega refused.
“Honey, come on! It’s for your kindness.” Alberto’s words made Vega immediately obey and sleep on the bed.
After that, Alberto and the security guards brought Vega into the emergency room. Seeing this, the nurses swiftly helped Alberto and the security guards into the room.
After that, I carried out an examination of Vega. Then, Vega was taken to the VIP room to give birth. Once inside the VVIP room, Alberto was asked to wait outside the room.
“Doctor, what’s going on?” Alberto asked the doctor.
“Your wife will give birth,” said the doctor.
Both of them spoke outside the room while Vega and the babies were being monitored. Two hours after Vega was admitted to the hospital, contractions kicked in.
Then, the doctor let Alberto come in. Alberto looked to the left, right, up, and down of the room. In front of him, he saw his wife being given an IV and lying on the bed.
Beside the bed, there was a sofa and a chair. Then, Alberto saw for the first time the pain his wife had to go through, and it broke his heart completely. Vega was trying to hold back the anxiety, silently taking deep breaths, but her tears gave it away.
Alberto knew his wife was in agony. He sat next to Vega.
Then, he held Vega’s hand and stroked Vega’s wet hairs because of sweat. He kissed her hands repeatedly and asked her condition, “Honey? Are you okay?”
“How about if you go for an operation?” Alberto asked.
Vega took a deep breath and tightened her hold on Alberto. She said, “No, Alberto. I can do this. I don’t want to be in bed any longer. My mother said that I can’t go for an operation because it will make me stay in bed longer.”
“Are you sure that you can do this?” Alberto was not sure that Vega could do that.
Vega’s body felt weaker. With her mouth trembling, he tried to answer Alberto’s question. “Ah… Hmmh… I — I think I can handle this.”
When Vega’s doctor finally came, she was nearly ready to push. All preparations were in order, including two pediatric bassinets, the name bands, and some supplies needed in case the second baby needs support to breathe.
After checking on Vega, the doctor announced, “Okay, Vega. It’s time to push. Push along with your contractions!”
“Okay,” answered Vega. She took several breaths, feeling the contractions, and ultimately gave her first push.
“Ah! Ah!” Vega shouted.
Vega’s agonizing scream lasted several minutes longer. Even Alberto held his breath each time his wife pushed.
“The head is almost out, Vega. You’re doing great,” said the doctor.
“One or two more pushes, please!”
“Yes, Vega. You can do that!” Alberto tried to make Vega keep her spirit.
Following the doctor’s announcement, Alberto eagerly peered in between Vega’s legs. While Alberto was excited to see his son, he was astounded to see his wife’s peach tearing after the first baby! He stood up, took a step back, and covered his mouth.
Alberto dove his head against Vega’s side and swore, “Honey, this will be the last… This will be the last. You can do this! I’m sure. You can do this!”
Vega didn’t understand where his words were coming from. She just continued to scream in pain as she pushed some more!
A loud cry echoed throughout the room. The first baby finally came out, and the nurses were quick to aid the doctor.
After one nurse opened Vega’s hospital gown, they rested the first baby on her chest. The nurse announced, “Tirso.”
The nurses cleaned up Tirso while putting on his hospital name tag. Seeing her healthy and crying baby boy, Vega cried with glee, and so did Alberto.
They felt so happy. The nurses were quick to place Tirso in Alberto’s arms while he was wrapped in linens.
It’s Alberto’s first time to see life come out of his wife’s. It’s his first time carrying a newborn in his arms, and it makes him happy.
It’s also the first time Vega givse birth. He immediately recognized the warmth in his heart, recalling how overjoyed he was when he married Vega.
While Alberto was immersed in happiness, however, Vega was still in pain. She realized she would need to push again with her second baby.
“Yes, Vega. It looks like the second baby is coming faster too.” The doctor told her.
“Let’s have a quick ultrasound to make sure everything is okay inside!” The doctor asked.
It didn’t take long for the doctor to confirm that the second baby was head down and ready to come out. He checked Vega’s entrance again and told hier “It’s time to push again, Vega!”
Alberto had to surrender Tirso to the nurses. He returned to comforting his wife, knowing that Telmo was about to come out.
Inside Alberto’s head, he repeatedly prayed, “Please be fine! Please, God! I don’t want everything that bad to happen now.”
Like earlier, he held Vega’s hand and closed his eyes because he couldn’t stand to see his wife in such pain.
“Ah! Ah!” Again and again, Vega yelped in discomfort.
Minutes into pushing, the doctor announced, “The head is here!”
Vega felt a great sense of relief. Because, finally, she is done delivering her babies.
“You’ve passed this. You’re great!” Alberto praised Vega. Then, he kissed Vega’s forehead, cheeks, and lips.
“Thank you!” Vega thanked him.
“You’re welcome.”
Not long after, the babies were handled by the nurses.
“It’s time for you to go to sleep.” Alberto said.
Then, Vega fell asleep on the bed because she was so tired. Meanwhile, Alberto slept on the sofa.

Vega woke up already late in the morning, tired from having delivered at dawn. She turned to find Alberto.
Then she saw Alberto preparing breakfast for her on the table. She immediately frowned because she was confused by her husband, who had prepared breakfast for her that morning. “Alberto?”
“Yes, Vega.” Alberto glanced at Vega.
“Don’t you feel tired?”
“I’m tired.”
“Then, why don’t you buy the food?” Vega asked Alberto.
“The cafeteria is still closed. There’s no food. I’m sure you’re hungry. So, I make the food for you.” Alberto explained. Indeed, he went to the cafeteria to find the food, but the cafeteria was closed.
“Oh, Honey! You’re so kind and so romantic!” praised Vega.
Not long after, Vega’s food was ready. After that, Alberto immediately brought the food to Vega.
The food was then devoured by Vega. In the middle of Vega’s meal, suddenly, tears from Vega’s face dripped and wet Vega’s face.
Alberto immediately took a tissue and wiped the tears away. “What’s the matter, Vega?”
“I’m afraid that after I give birth, you will leave me! I’m scared!” groaned Vega as she cried.
“No, Honey. I promise that I won’t leave you for another woman! I promise I won’t have an affair with another woman!” Alberto promised.
“Please keep the promise! Please love me always! Don’t lie!” exclaimed Vega.
“Yes. I promise, Honey!” Alberto confirmed Vega’s words.
“Why are you feeling so scared? I will never have an affair with another woman. Who is the woman I intend to have an affair with? I have no thoughts of having an affair, Honey.” Alberto tried to figure out Vega’s fear.
“Yeah, I’m just scared!” groaned Vega.
“No, Honey. I promise!” said Alberto.
“Okay, Honey.”
