Early in the morning, Vega was getting ready to go to campus to meet Alberto. However, she suddenly felt nauseous. She immediately went to the bathroom. After that, she vomited.
After that, she drank a glass of water and cleaned up her vomit. However, she vomitted again until she did so three times. Meanwhile, in the lecturer’s room, Alberto was waiting for Vega to come to teach the class. Many of Alberto’s friends had sent messages to him either in group chats or through private chats.
“Alberto! Will Professor Vega teach today?” asked Dario.
“Yes. According to the schedule, Professor Vega will teach today, right?” Nicolas asked.
“I don’t know. There has been no reply from Professor Vega so far. In fact, I contacted her very early in the morning,” complained Alberto.
“But we have waited too long, Alberto! We can’t stand to wait any longer! Please don’t make us wait longer! Now, it’s five minutes late for her to teach our class. There must be something going on, Professor Vega. She’s never been like this before.” Nicolas lamented.
“What can I do, Nicolas? I’m also looking forward to Professor Vega’s arrival in our class or lecture room and teaching us.” Alberto was confused about what he should do. The problem was that Vega didn’t answer whether he would teach Alberto’s class or not. In fact, Alberto had sent a message to Vega to confirm Vega’s presence in his class.
“Well! Let’s just say there is no class today.” Nicolas got mad and concluded easily.
“Yes. Just take it simple like that!” Dario complained.
“That’s right!” said his other friends.
“I’m sorry, guys!” Alberto immediately apologized to his friends.
“I can’t just decide whether there’s class today or not. I have to wait for her decision. If you’re impatient, maybe you can try contacting Professor Vega. Perhaps Professor Vega will reply to your chat.” Indeed, Alberto had no idea whether Professor Vega would be teaching that day. He couldn’t make his own decisions if he didn’t want Professor Vega to be so mad at him.
“Okay, I’ll just call Professor Vega right now!” Nicolas made a decision because he couldn’t wait any longer. He was too tired to wait a long time.
“Yes, me too!” Dario and the others got mad.
Not long after, Professor Vega’s phone kept ringing due to many chat and phone notifications coming from Alberto’s friends. Nena, Professor Vega’s middle-aged household assistant, was sweeping when she heard that Professor Vega’s phone kept ringing.
With her initiative, Nena immediately informed Professor Vega. “Ma’am, your phone is ringing! It looks like there is a chat or call notification, ma’am.”
“Okay! Just let it be! I’m sick. I’ll call them later and tell them my condition. They will understand my condition.” Professor Vega asked Nena to ignore the ringing of the phone.
“But, Ma’am…” Nena wanted to argue and said that again, because suddenly a call came to Professor Vega’s phone. But her words were cut by Professor Vega’s words because she knew what Nena would say.
“Nena, just do like I said earlier! Just leave it! Please bring me a glass of water!” Professor Vega asked Nena to get her a glass of water because her body felt very weak because she had vomited earlier.
“All right, ma’am! Please wait a moment, ma’am!” Nena immediately put her broom against the wall and went to the kitchen, which was not far from the bathroom.
After she reached the kitchen, she saw in front of her a complete set of cooking utensils and, beside it, a place to wash dishes. Near the sink, there is a dishwasher. On the dishwasher are glasses, plates, spoons, forks, and bowls.
On the left is a dispenser. Swiftly, she took a glass of water and brought it near the bathroom for Professor Vega. When she got to the bathroom, she knocked on the door. “Ma’am!”
“Yes!” shouted Professor Vega.
“I bring you a glass of water, Ma’am!”
Not long after, Vega opened the door and took a glass of water from Nena. Then she drank the water. “Thank you, Nena!”
“You’re welcome, ma’am!”
A moment later, Nena noticed that there were vomit marks on Vega’s shirt. To be precise, on the left, near the Vega name tag. Nena immediately told Vega. “I’m sorry, ma’am!”
“Why, Nena? Is there any problem?” Vega was confused by Nena’s behavior because she thought Nena had done nothing wrong.
“There’s vomit on your shirt.” Nena told about the vomit marks on Vega’s shirt.
“Where?” Vega asked about the vomit marks as she looked for them on his shirt.
“Near your name tag, ma’am.” Nena’s words made Vega immediately find the traces of her vomit.
“Ah!” groaned Vega.
Vega immediately ran to her room, which was located to the right of the bathroom. After she arrived in front of the room, she immediately opened the door of the room. Then she saw that there was a bed in front of him. On the right from that position, there is a container to put dirty clothes in. On her right side is a cupboard containing his books.
Next to the bookcase is a wardrobe. She went straight to the wardrobe. Once in front of the closet, she immediately opened the cupboard and looked for a shirt that she could use at that time. Fortunately, there were some clean shirts because Nena had ironed them earlier. The shirts are a dark brown long-sleeve shirt, a pink short-sleeve shirt, a black long-sleeve shirt, and a dark blue long-sleeve shirt. Vega immediately took a dark brown long-sleeved shirt and put it on.
Vega immediately removed the shirt that had been splattered by the vomit and replaced it with the one she had just taken. After that, she put the dirty shirt in the pile of dirty clothes. Then she walked to the parking lot. Then she went to Brittle University.
Halfway through, she immediately sent a message to Alberto. “Alberto, please tell the students that I’m going to be late today! This is the material I will teach today! Please read and study this handout first.”
Then, Vega sent a handout of the human circulatory system material that she would teach that day.
“Okay, Professor. Thank you!” Alberto replied curtly. Then, Alberto sent the information from Professor Vega and the handout to his friends.
“Wow! Learn it? I guess today Professor Vega will give us the quiz. I’m so sure of it.” Nicolas said with certainty.
“Why do you guess that there will be a quiz, Col? How do you know about that, Col?” Alberto was puzzled by the reason Nicolas made such a guess.
“I just guessed it because like last week. She asked us to study and read the material first. Then, suddenly, there was an impromptu quiz. I think today the situation will be the same as that again.” Nicolas revealed his guess.
“I hope there won’t be anything like that!” said Alberto.
“Yes, but we have to study this handout. I’m worried that she will give us an impromptu quiz.” Nicolas had been feeling really scared since last week, when Professor Vega gave a quiz suddenly without notifying Alberto.
Because of that, Alberto and his friends, who were in the same class as him, got bad grades. The highest grade in the class was B, with many students receiving C and D. Alberto and his friends immediately studied and read the handouts while waiting for Professor Vega to arrive.
