Upon entering the hotel, she immediately went to the front desk for her room reservation. “Hi,” she greeted the receptionist at the front desk. “I have a room reserved under Ella Sullivan,” she told the woman.
“Okay, wait a minute.” The receptionist replied as she looked at the details on the computer, and then she called an attendant and assisted with her suitcase.
“Thanks,” she said to the woman and she just smiled.
When she entered the executive suite of the hotel, Ella wondered why it had two beds even though she obviously checked in alone. She was annoyed by the staff’s negligence but Jack McBride did not raise her to be rude so she tried to calm down before dialing the number at the front desk. “Excuse me, miss but why are there two beds in my room?”
“Your name and room number please?” The woman asked.
“Ella Sullivan, and I just actually arrived.”
“Hmmm actually Ma’am, we received an instruction earlier to change the set-up in your room.” The woman explained.
“I don’t remember giving an instruction to change the set-up,”Ella explained but then she realized that the bed set-up shouldn’t matter. She wouldn’t be in the hotel for a long time, so it shouldn’t matter at all.
After arranging the clothes in the closet, she took a shower to freshen up. She needed to feel very fresh before going to the nearby mall to go shopping. A smile was formed in the corner of her lips as she recalled the black card in her wallet. Damian have given it to her but she wasn’t able to use the card before.
She was currently getting dressed when the phone rang in her bedroom. She picked up the auditory and answered. “Yes? How may I help you?” She picked up the call while assuming that it was one of the receptionists.
“It’s Damian, come down and I’ll wait here in the lobby.”
She didn’t want to believe that it was Damian but she knew the man’s voice. “What? Why did you follow me here?” Ella swore softly when Damian didn’t answer on the other line and just leaves her on the air.
Disgusted at Damian’s interference, Ella lay down on the bed and turned on the television to watch the show. However, he called again with a stern warning. So, she stumbled to get dressed and went downstairs.
When she arrived at the lobby, she looked around and looked for the man. When her eyes caught sight of him, she could not help himself to admire the man. Damian was really handsome. She just sighed as she watched from afar and thought that Damian would really be a perfect husband for her. Instead of approaching the man’s seat, she waited for him to notice her. When that happened, he got up from his seat and approached her.
“Let’s go,” Damian announced.
“Where?”
“Shopping. I know what you’re thinking, missy.”
Damian grabbed one of her hands and they both walked out of the hotel. She enjoyed walking beside him while he was holding her hands, but her joy didn’t last long. It only took them more or less five minutes to get to the mall.
The plan to enjoy shopping did not go through because even in choosing the style and color of the clothes, Damian had an opinion until she chose nothing but jeans and walking shoes. They were both tired of the shopping. Tired but not enjoying.
When they got back to the hotel, they went to the restaurant there and ate dinner. While eating, she asked the man why he followed her. “Admit it to me, why are you following me?”
Damian shook his head because he would never admit to Ella that her suspicion was correct. “I have a business meeting nearby,” he lied.
“Really? Hmmm, I think you really followed me. Admit it,” she teased Damian.
“Stop it! I have no plans to fool around with you,” Damian said as if laughing or disgusted.
“Whatever. Anyway, I would like to check the city alone,” she proposed.
“No way. Ella, if you must know, a lot of criminals are roaming around today. It’s dangerous to walk alone especially at night.” Said Damian.
“Hmmm, don’t come with me. After all, you ruined my schedule today. I didn’t even buy the things I wanted to buy. I hope next time I go shopping, please don’t come with me.”
“Where are you going later?” Damian asked.
“I heard there’s an entertaining gay bar nearby. I think, I will go and check on it,” she replied.
“You’re kidding,” he said.
Ella’s eyebrows rose when Damian indicated that he didn’t believe what she said. “Do you think so, Damian? No, I am not kidding. I really want to go there later,” she said and the next thing she knew, he was furious at her.
