He wrapped his hands around her waist as she wrapped hers around his neck. Their lips were in perfect synchronicity, both enjoying the kiss like their lives depended on it. He slowly started to thrust his tongue into her mouth as he started to caress her back slowly.
They were already laying on the floor, about to make out when suddenly, it started to rain. “Shoot!” Daniel cursed as they both got off the floor.
“It’s raining!” Kathryn screamed in joy as the sky poured out upon them.
Daniel stared at her, “what’s so exciting about the rain?” He asked her, and she chuckled as she got off the floor.
“What’s not exciting about it? It’s so cool, and beautiful, and, I don’t know, it’s just perfect.” She told him, and he stared at her like she was some sort of weirdo as she twirled in the rain.
Kathryn looked up, and before she knew it, Daniel carried her like a groom would carry his bride as they rushed into the house.
“Hey, let me go, I want to dance in the rain!” She told him, but he didn’t listen to her.
Whether she liked the rain or not, one thing was certain, and that was the fact that she would definitely catch a cold if he let her continue to stay in the rain.
The moment they got into the house, he placed her on the couch as he got a towel immediately. “Here.” He told her, and she looked away in embarrassment as she took the towel.
She swallowed, was this really love? Was it the only reason she wasn’t in her senses whenever she was around him? Was it the only reason she was the happiest when he was around her? He was a really sweet person, and as such, it wouldn’t be difficult to fall in love with someone like him.
She smiled to herself, and he tucked her hair behind her ear. Maybe this was the right time to tell her how he felt about her. After that kiss, something came to him, it felt like there was no better chance to tell her how he felt than this. He took in a deep inhale as he stared at her.
“Kathryn, I want to tell you something.” He told her, she she slowly turned to see those charming eyes staring at her.
She tucked her hair behind her ear as she swallowed. “Sure, I’m all ears.” She told him and he smiled at her.
He clenched his fists as he took in a deep inhale, he had to tell her, he needed her to know how he truly felt for her. “Actually, for the past few days, I…” before he could even finish speaking, she started to cough and sneeze uncontrollably.
“What’s wrong, here, have water?” He told her as he handed her a glass of water but it still didn’t help as she continued to cough.
He stared at her, worried. Perhaps it was because she was in the rain. He rushed to the kitchen to get her some warm water while her cough only seemed to get worse. He rushed back as he handed her the glass of water and she drank it.
After drinking it, he started to rub her back, trying to make sure she felt better, but then she still kept coughing, and that was when he knew that it was the cold. She’d being in the rain for quiet some time so obviously, it would be taking a toll on her health.
“Hold on. I’ll go prepare the fire place and get you a coat.” He told her, and with that, rushed away.
She held on to her chest, it was aching badly, and she wasn’t feeling too well. He rushed back to her and handed her a coat. Right there, she took off some of her clothes as she put the clothe on before he took her to the fire place.
“There, this should do.” He told her as he patted her hair.
She gulped, she was feeling a little bit more better than she was originally. “I’ll go make you some soup, it should help a little.” He told her, and just as he was about to leave, she held on to his hand, stopping him.
He stopped as he stared at her. “What’s wrong, do you need something?” He asked her, and she shook her head as she smiled.
He stared at her, confused, and before he knew it, she got up as she embraced him tightly. He smiled, this smile was Al he needed at the moment to get him calm. He was so worried about her.
He put his hands around her and she spoke. “Thank you so much, Daniel.” She told him, and he chuckled.
“For what? What are you thanking me for?” He asked her, and she took in a deep inhale as she withdrew from the hug.
“For everything. What shouldn’t I be grateful for? I just want to say a very big thank you for everything, you don’t know how much it means to me that you’re taking good care of me.” She told him, and he smiled slightly.
“It’s fine, don’t worry.” He told her, and with that, helped her sit back down. “I’ll go get you some soup now.” He told her, and she nodded, and with that, he left.
The moment he left, tears started to stream down her cheeks. She felt terrible, she felt like the worst person alive. She took in a deep inhale, “I’m so sorry, Daniel. I really don’t want to do this but I’ve got no other choice.” She spoke to herself.
After some time, the soup was ready, and Daniel fed it to her. She fell asleep almost immediately and he took her to her room, laying her on the bed and making sure everything was comfortable for her.
.
“Trust me, I’ll separate you from him. I won’t let you be, Kathryn, it’s not over yet.” He told her, and with that, stabbed her.
“Daniel!” She yelled as she jumped out of bed.
She looked around the room as she placed her hand to her chest, what had just happened to her? She took in a deep inhale, what had she just seen? She rushed out of the room as she went straight to Daniel’s room. “Daniel! Daniel!” She called, and he opened the door immediately to see her looking so worried.
“Kathryn!” He called as he immediately grabbed his robe.
He had barely even finished speaking when she pulled him in, hugging him tightly as tears streamed down her cheeks. He patted her back slowly, while worried about her. “What’s wrong? What happened to you?” He asked her as he led her into his room.
She was crying now, she was so scared of the dream, and as such, she couldn’t even speak. “He’ll kill me, Daniel. He’s going to kill me!” She kept on saying, and he gave her a glass of water.
“Here, tell me. Who’s going to kill you? I’m here for you, Kathryn. No one’s going to do anything to you.” He told her, but she wasn’t satisfied yet.
She was still feeling so scared, and as such, he tucked her in on his bed. “I’ve got an idea. Stay here, I’ll go sleep in your room.” He told her, and just as he was about to leave, she held on to his clothe.
“No, Daniel. Don’t leave me, please.” She told him as she continued to look frantically around the room like she had being possessed.
He stared at her, he had never seen her this scared before, and since she was pleading that he stayed, he had to.
He took in a deep inhale as he pulled her closer to himself, patting her till she slowly fell asleep.
Every single time he tried to pull away from her, she would wake up and start acting up again so he just stayed with her, for the rest of the night, watching over her like a mother did her new born baby.
She slowly opened her eyes the following morning to see Daniel sleeping beside her. She swallowed as the previous night’s incidents came back to mind. She gulped, she must have really troubled him, and now, she was staring to feel bad.
She slowly got out of bed as she walked to her room. She got dressed as she started to make breakfast. She knew Daniel would be up late because he must have being awake for most of the night, but she was wrong.
While she was still cooking, setting up the table, he walked downstairs. “Good morning, Kathryn.” He told her, and she stared at him, and the moment she recalled what had happened the previous night, she turned away.
She swallowed, and he walked up to her, placing his hand on her shoulder. “Tell me, how are you doing now? Hope you’re better? I can call a doctor if you want.” He told her, and she turned to him, shaking his head.
“I’m so sorry, Daniel.” She told him, and he stared at her, confused.
“Sorry about?” He asked as he stared at her.
“Last night. You didn’t get a good night rest, and it’s because of me. I am really sorry, I didn’t mean it. I just got so…” before she could even finish speaking, he placed his index finger over her lips as he stared at her, shaking his head.
“You’ve done more for me, Kathryn. This is nothing.” He told her, and she smiled.
“Thank you.” She told him, and he rolled his eyes.
“Come on, I’m so hungry. Let’s go eat.” He told her, and she nodded with a smile as they walked to the table.
As they ate, they conversed about a lot of things and laughed out loud. He couldn’t help but be happier, these few days had being the best for him, and now, seeing her smile genuinely because of him, he felt like the happiest man in the world.
While they ate, there was suddenly a call on Kathryn’s phone. “Who is it? They seem to be missing you so much?” He asked with a teasing smirk on his face, and she stared at the phone.
“I don’t know, it’s an unknown number.” She told him, and he chuckled.
“Someone’s got a secret admirer.” He teased, and she chuckled, as she took the call.
“Stop it!” She told him as she took the call.
The moment she placed the phone to her ear, her eyes widened in shock. She swallowed as she stared at Daniel, and he looked at her, wondering what could have happened to her that was making her acting this way.
“Kathryn, what’s wrong?” He asked her, and she stared at him.
Tears started to stream down her cheeks as she stared at him, and now, he was getting extremely worried about her.
“Kathryn!” He called as her hands started to shake.
It was obvious whoever called her was harassing her. “Tell me, what’s wrong, who is it?” He asked her, but she didn’t give him any response, and before he knew it, the phone fell out of her hand.
She stared at him, and she was fidgeting as she held on to her dress. She tried to get up but then knocked the things on the table over.
“Tell me, what’s wrong? Why do you look that way?” He asked her, and she stared at him.
“It’s nothing, I’m fine.” She told him and made to leave when he held on to her hand.
“Something’s wrong, Kathryn. Tell me.” He told her, and she took her hand out of his, picked her phone, and then spoke.
“I’m fine, I’ll be back, give me a minute.” She told him, and with that, ran off.
He stared at her, what could have happened to her? Who could have spoken to her and what did that person say?
