As Daniel helped Kathryn back into her ward, he couldn’t help but smile, she had just saved his ass.. how lucky he was.
“Thanks” he told her as he helped her lay on her couch, getting her to rest before calling the nurse using the emergency button by the bed.
“It’s nothing, I’m going to do my best to win the bet” she told him and then winked before holding on to her stomach before lying down.
“Would you really do so much just to win a bet?” He asked her
“Of course I would. I want to show you that there’s more to being a mafia than drugs, guns and illegal deals ” she told him.
He chuckled as he remebered what had brought about the whole bet with a smile on his face.
FLASHBACK…..
As Daniel sat in his office, he flipped through the pages of his files, staring at Kathryn at intervals before finally going to his laptop.
“I know you’ve been staring at me, tell me, what’s wrong?” She asked him as she finally shut the laptop she had been watching a movie on.
“No I’ve not” he told her, still stealing glances at her while he tried his very best to focus on his work.
“Yes you have, I’m not going to spank you if you just admitted to it” she told him as she chuckled
“Why would I even talk to you? I’m so busy right now” he told her and she got off her seat before walking toward him.
“Is anything really more important than me?” She asked in a seductive tone as she winked at him at intervals, slowly biting her bottom lip. “Okay I’m done with this, tell me why you’ve being staring at me” she told him as she sat on his desk.
“I told you, I’ve not been staring, I’ve just been more busy with my work” he told her and rolled his eyes.
“What work? Killing people is not a job you know” she told him and he taised a brow at her.
“What’s that for?” She asked
“Seriously? Killing people isn’t a job? Is a hit girl really telling me that killing people is not a job?” He asked as he continued to stare at her.
“Well, in my defense, I am no longer everybody’s hit girl” she said with a smile on her face.
“I know you’re not. You’re now my hit girl ” he told her with a smile before continuing to go through his laptop.
“Of course, I am now the mafias hit girl” she said and they burst into laughter. “But for real, you could try out legal deals” she told him.
“Legal deals? Are you serious? Is that even good? Why would I try legal deals, trying to get silly clients when I could just ship guns and drugs and make millions and billions?” He asked her
“Maybe because you’re scared of failure” she told him with a smile on her face, one that showed that she was trying to mock him.
“Me? Scared?” He asked as he got off his seat. ” I am Daniel Lopez, I couldn’t be scared of anything ” he told her
“Is that a challenge then?” She asked as she stretched her hand forward.
“What challenge?” He asked her
“Didn’t you just tell me you weren’t scared of anything ? Making legal deals included?” She asked him
“I did but….”
“No buts…” she told him, cutting him off. “I challenge you to start a business deal that is legal, trust me , it’s gonna do well” she said with a smile
“And what if it doesn’t do well?” He asked her
“Just trust me, it’s going to do well. I’ve challenged you” she told him.

BACK TO PRESENT..
“Well, I’m confused about something though ” he told her as he stroke his chin.
“And what is that Mr smarty pants?” She asked mockingly but kept quiet the moment a nurse walked into the ward to recline for her IV drop. After the nurse had reconnected it, she left after checking up on Kathryn.
“Why didn’t you tell them you were my body guard and seductress?” He asked and she laughed.

Minutes passed, hours, days and two weeks passed and Kathryn was finally back on her feet. She had recovered so well that she could now partake in the fighting exercises Daniel held for his goons.
“Where are you headed?” Daniel asked Kathryn as he saw her all dressed up.
“What do you mean by that?” She asked him.
“You’re all dressed up, where are you going?” He asked
“You fool, I’m your guard. Of course I’d have to go with you. I’d been down these previous days so I couldn’t come with you but now I’m better” she said “do you know what that means? It means I can come with you” she said.
He rolled his eyes, “ok then, you can come with me. Let’s go ” he told her and they walked out of the house before going into the car.

“Finally, we’re here” Kathryn said as she heaved a sigh of relief while they got down from the car.
“You’re sounding like you’ve been in the car for more than three hours ” he told her as he took his laptop from the car
“For some reason, it has taken so long to get here. It usually doesn’t take so long” she said as she used her hand to get herself air which was quite ridiculous as they were already in the open.
“It’s probably because you’ve not come here for three weeks. That should be the only reason” he told her and she nodded.
“I guess you’re right ” she said
“Alrigh then, shall we?” He asked her as he pointed so they could walk into the building together.
“Of course” she said and just as they were about to walk in, a car pulled up in front of them and two women with microphones and a man with a cameras walked out of the car.
Kathryn rolled her eyes, “what the heck?” She muttered to herself . Didn’t they have any work to do? They were always covering Daniel!
“Didn’t you say she was your assistant?” One of the women asked
“Yes, if she wasn’t, why would she be with me here?” Daniel asked
“Look at her, jeans, a leather jacket and a tied hair. She doesn’t look like an assistant… is there something we need to know?” The women asked.
