She angrily moved forward as they led her to the same area where Daniel had been kept only that she was now far from him. The guns were now pointed at her head and it was distracting Daniel and he was getting beaten pretty badly.
She was angry and humiliated, she couldn’t imagine herself being the source of pain for him.
She turned to one of the goons, “shoot me… shoot me if you have the guts” she told him and she fixated his gun right on her head
“What are you doing Kathryn?” Daniel asked and this time when the man wanted to hit him, he bent and sent the man flying across the room into a pillar
“I said shoot me… or don’t you have the guts?” She asked with a smirk on her face and the man stared at her shocked
“You look like someone who’d just escaped a hospital.. you’re still wounded.. we don’t wanna kill you or your family would die ” he told her and she chuckled
“Your mistake then” she told him and before he knew it , she turned the gun at shot at his head immediately. The other goons tried to fight back but even with her injury from the gun shot, she was still able to run and grab a metal tray and as they shot, she moved it with the directions of their guns and their bullets all came back to the ground. She stared at the sun, it was starting to come out so she smiled to herself and quickly went behind out of the pillars and immediately put the tray in position and when the rays from the sun hit the silver tray, it radiated so much light that the goons had to close their eyes for awhile and immediately they did, she was fast in shooting all but one down.
He used a piece of clothe and blocked his eyes and while he ran towards her, she tried to run away but he caught up with her immediately and flung her to the door.
Daniel had enough already. Without waiting for the man to attack him, he threw him down the building and the goon stared at him, shocked. He rushed to him and before he could do anything, Daniel had already taken a piece of wood and hit him on the head and he fell to the ground before he rushed to Kathryn
“What are you doing here Kathryn? You’re supposed to be in the hospital” he told her and she put her hand on his cheek with a little smile
“Before I’m Kathryn Rivera… I’m your personal bodyguard or have you forgotten?” She asked as she held on to her arm. “Little things like this do not hurt me” she said with a smile and he stared at her before looking away, her smile always made him long for something he didn’t think he could have.
He put his hand on her head and this time, she didn’t remove his hand… she put her hand on his and they were lost in each others’ eyes. Looking at them, one would never believe that they were not even in love.
“You’ve been injured pretty badly, don’t you think you should see a doctor?” He asked her
“I’ve already seen a doctor Daniel because I was shot but what about you? You’ve been beaten badly and look at you, how will you recover?” She asked “come, let’s go” she said and as they got up to leave, the building started shaking.
“I was right, this building is gonna collapse… let’s get out of here” he told her and as they got up, her feet suddenly gave way and she fell to the floor, hitting her head on a stone which caused her to pass out.
“Kathryn!” He called and the goon who he’d knocked unconscious suddenly regained consciousness and threw a stone at his already injured back. “Damn!” He cursed… couldn’t this day get any better?

Kathryn slowly opened her eyes and she could feel someone’s weight right on her chest. Despite the blood dropping on her face from the persons body and the smell of it, she could still feel how muscular the person was and how wonderful he smelt. On finally opening her eyes, she gasped in shock.
“Daniel!” She called out.
After she’d passed out and the goon regained consciousness, he’d pointed a gun at Kathryn but Daniel was swift in using the silver tray to divert its direction before throwing the tray at the goon, knocking the gun out of his hand.
He rushed to the goon who was now moving towards him and gave him punches in his stomach that he spat out blood an uncountable number of times. Not satisfied with this, he took the goon and hit his head against a pillar continuously and this weakeaned the goon.
The goon fell to the ground and smiled to himself… the gun. He picked the gun and and aimed directly at his chest but then he was swift in dodging but it wasn’t good enough as the bullet braved his arm. He held on to his arm as he fell to the ground in pain, he’d been injured badly.
“You think you can come to the lion’s den and get away unharmed right?” The goon asked with a menacing smiled on his face as he walked towards Kathryn. “You have killed the second in command and that’s fine, I’ll avenge his death” the goon said before going to Kathryn and then dragging her up by the hair. “She came here to help right? I’ll kill her”‘he said and pointed the gun right at her head.
“Stay away from her!” Daniel yelled in anger as he picked a stone and threw it right at the goons head which caused the goon to fall to the ground. In pain and with blood oozing out of his arm and the other part of his body that had been shot, he walked to the goon and dragged him on the floor to the edge of the building. “Don’t you ever harm her….. be it now…. Or in the afterlife” he said and before the goon could say anything or even recover from the stone that had been thrown at his head, Daniel threw him off the building.
After having thrown the goon off the building, Daniel fell to his knees as he held on to his arm, he was in so much pain and coupled with the beatings that he’d received, he was in worse pain. He was looking around the building for something he could use in stopping himself from losing more blood when something caught his sight… a metal block was about to fall on Kathryn! She was unconscious so there was no way she would be able to move out of harm’s way.
“Kathryn!” He yelled as he rushed to her hoping to drag her out of harm’s way but he couldn’t and just as the metal block was about to land on Kathryn, he covered her and it landed right on his head… knocking him out.
She’d come to save him and that was why she was unconscious…. He was now unconscious because he tried to repay the favor.
