Third Person’s POV
Celina stays in the mansion but she still takes jobs only one at a time. He looked after the construction of the country club via the phone and, if before, she went to the site once a week. Now, she’s calling the engineer and the contractor almost daily. She didn’t want her pregnancy to be the cause of any delays and problems with her job.
“Dennis, I talked to Engr. Mark and he wanted to consult something but I couldn’t go there. Can you do me a favor by going there on my behalf?” I said when he answered my call.
“No problem,” Dennis replied, “You know you should be resting right now. I don;t think Mr. Scott would be happy if he found out that you are still working like this,” he added.
“No, it’s no biggie. I was just sitting comfortably taking selfies and sending them to him, so I don’t think that he will have time to get mad at me.” she replied, laughing.
“I guess you had him in your hands,” he commented,
“No, he just loves me so much,” she replied, and after a few more reminders, they ended their call. Celina was back to herself and started working on her new client, Mary Jane Diaz, who wanted to see the design even though the selling of the lot that the shop was going to be built was not yet clear. She thought that it was a waste of money once the seller changed his mind and decided not to sell her the land because Ms. Diaz had already made a partial payment to their firm.
She shrugged her shoulders, thinking her client already had plan B if that ever happened. She was making the layout for the first floor and was actually motivated and doing it happily. It was almost lunch time when she received a call from Noris, “Hey,” she said.
“Uhm, hi. I hope I didn’t disturb you with your work.” he said,
“No, not at all. I’m at home right now.” she replied,
“I see. I called because I wanted to apologize for what I did at the company. I don’t know what came to me and—”
“Noris, it’s fine. We know that you didn’t want to do that either and, believe me, I understand you. We understand you.” she stopped him, “You are family and the company is yours as well, but please don’t make me the reason for your conflict with Jefferson grow. You are my friend and he is my husband and, most of all, you’re brothers.”
“I guess I was too selfish to even think about wanting you, but I promise to make my mind straight.” he replied,
“I hope when you come back, you and Jefferson will call each other brothers,” she said,
“We’ll see about that,” he replied. They still had a few talks and made jokes before they ended their conversation. Celina had to have her lunch because Susane would definitely get mad at her first before her husband could. She had been preparing her food and everything was healthy and Jefferson didn’t need to tell her that. She was as excited as the couple and was looking forward to their baby.
Susane sees to it that they always have all the necessary vitamins and fruits that Celina and her baby needed. Because Celina needed a rest, she made sure to check on her from time to time so she would not forget to rest every once in a while. Plus, Jefferson constantly calls her doing the same thing as their head maid does.
Meanwhile, a man was talking to a woman angrily. “What do you mean? They have already accepted the project. What made you think that she was not going to come with you if you asked her out?”
“It’s not that easy. Apparently, she was working from home now. I don’t know what happened, but according to one of the architects in the firm, she was doing all her projects at home. The site visit she usually does on weekends was canceled too and I heard that it was Dennis who went there to check.” the woman replied.
“I won’t be able to execute my plan if we are able to get her out of their house alone. Think of something convincing that will let her come with you, alone!” the man yelled.
“It was already what I was thinking the whole time. And why did you have to call me here at this time? What if my boss started to look for me?” the woman asked angrily.
“About that, how come you didn’t know anything about your own boss? You’re working closely with him and yet, you had no idea about what was going on!”
“Do I need to know everything for myself? Why don’t you try to do something helpful as well instead of nagging me? It wasn’t only me who wanted them apart, so you had better start doing something,” the woman said, glaring at him.
“And you think I’m not?” the man replied angrily.
“If you do, why the hell are you depending on me in making that b**** come out of their house?” she replied, shouting. The man got furious so he slapped her really hard so that she went down.
“Don’t call her that, she’s nothing like you.” he told the woman, “If I ever heard you saying such a thing, I’ll make sure to pull out that tongue of yours so you won’t be able to say anything.” he added, “Now, get up there and do what you have to do and give me some good news when I called for you again!! Did you get that???” he continued. The woman got up fearfully, she thought that the man looked like a devil that time as he shouted with wide eyes that almost made them pop out.
‘That bi****, it’s her fault that I got hurt like this.’ the woman thought as she wiped the blood from her lips dry. She agreed with the man, thinking she would be able to have Jefferson for herself when their plan succeeded. But now, she was having second thoughts about the effectiveness of their plan. She got in her car and started to drive away. Out of fear, she decided to make a new plan so she would be able to get her target out of their house.
She was working in Noris’ office but after he left, she was transferred to Jefferson’s. It was already hard for her to meet the target in fear that she would recognize her and now that the man was pressuring and rushing her, she didn’t know if whatever plan she made would work.
The man who was left behind was looking at a smiling photo of a woman whom he thought was his. He had loved and put her on a pedestal ever since he met her and he didn’t want all his feelings to go to waste. He wanted it to be reciprocated at all costs. That’s why he was doing everything he could to make her his.
“My beautiful Celina, you’re going to be mine soon…” he said with an evil smile on his face.
