Celina’s POV
“You should have waited for me to get you to dad’s.” Jefferson said when he entered our bedroom. I smiled at him and welcomed him with a kiss.
“I know that you are busy and a talk with him tormented you as well, and the fact that you still need to go to the company and make preparations for the board meeting is exhausting too.” I replied.
“Still, you should have just told me. You know that no matter how tired I am, I still get you wherever you are, so don’t do it ever again.”
“Alright, I won’t. I will let you know first before I go home by myself in the future.” I replied laughing when I saw him sighing. “Hey, you don’t have to worry about me going home all by myself. I’m a grown up and know my way, we don’t need to always be together.”
“No, I want us to be together whenever we’re not working. So please, wait for me in your office and go home together, OK?” He pleaded, so I just nodded my head. It’s the only thing I can do for him, so if it will make him feel better, who am I to say no and continue arguing with him?
“So, what happened?” I asked and his face sank after a heavy sigh.
“I have already scheduled a board meeting. I don’t know what will happen but I prepared everything and it all pointed at Noris.” He replied as he took my hand and walked together to the bed. I gave him a slight push so he could sit on it and helped him untie his neck tie.
“Did you talk to Noris?” I asked.
“No. I wanted to discuss the matter in front of the board and I’m afraid that he will only hate me more after this. He is not going to admit it to me even if I try to talk it over with him beforehand.”
“It’s going to be alright so don’t think too much. This thing is going to happen again if you just close your eyes on your brother.” I told him to ease his worry. I know that more than Noris, he was thinking about Daddy John, which pained him even more.
“Do you want to come to the meeting tomorrow?” he asked,
“Of course, I will be there. I am here to support you with everything, so know that you have me on your back.”
“Thank you, my Celina,” he said and pulled me before he kissed me hungrily. I am glad that he has not changed and I still feel how much he wanted me. I want him as much too. Our love for each other may have bloomed a little later, but I will make sure to make it stay that way. I can’t imagine life without him and I know that he was too.
We made love, and just like the other days when he came home, we continued our love making after dinner. I was hoping that we would be able to have our little Jefferson already running around the house.
The next day, I attended the board meeting with him. Just as I promised, I am going to be with him during all of this. We were all seated and I could see Noris looking at me. Even if he did that, I wanted him to know that I was still his friend, so I smiled at him, which he also returned hesitantly. Jefferson was looking at me with a creased forehead when I turned my gaze at him, so I tapped his hand that was on the table, then held it after. Daddy John was sitting beside me, and just like me, he was still sad about what was about to come.
“I called this meeting to report to you about the malicious comments on our social media accounts about our company.” My husband started and Daria, along with Bree, handed out the files containing evidence of what Noris had done. Everyone was looking at it and some couldn’t believe that he actually did it. Others had no reactions at all because they knew they were part of the scheme and would be punish as well.
“No one seems to have a say in this,” Daddy John said, after a few minutes, and no one said anything. He looked at Noris and said, “I am your father and, whether you believe it or not, I see you the way I see your brother. I tried my best to be a father to both of you equally, whatever he decides now is beyond me.”
“I am not expecting you to side with me, so no harm done.” Noris replied, “Jefferson could do whatever he thinks necessary,” he added. His face was grim and anyone could see that he didn’t like it. He just had no choice but to accept it. The way the board looked at him made me feel irritable. They were judging him as though they knew him. Or maybe it was like that, they knew that he was an illegitimate son. That’s why.
“Since you admitted it, as punishment, you will be dismissed from your responsibilities in the company and will hold no positions other than being a board member along with the other two who were with you in doing this.” Jefferson said,
“You were waiting for this to happen, right?” Noris asked angrily,
“Whether I do or not, it is up to you. You are the one who made this happen, so don’t blame this on me. Even if I tell you that this is not really what I wanted, you will still not believe it and will continue getting mad at me.” my husband replied,
“And you, dad? You knew and didn’t tell me about it. Celina, are you with him now?” he asked. I looked at Daddy John and I took pity on him.
“Don’t blame dad, Noris. He didn’t like what was happening either.” I told him,
“He didn’t like it but still, he made it happen!!” he shouted,
“Don’t shout at my wife!” Jefferson yelled, so I stopped him before they got into a more heated argument.
“Noris, none of us wanted this. Why not explain to yourself why you did it? So we can understand you.” I told him,
“It was dad’s fault! He should have told me that it was you that I was going to marry. I should have agreed with him, you should have been my wife. We should be happy together now, even if I didn’t have this da** company!!” he replied, shouting.
I was shocked, I didn’t know that he really liked me that much, enough to cause this much damage to their company. “So, this was all because of my wife?” Jefferson asked, angrily.
“It wasn’t because of her! It was because of you! You are so greedy that you didn’t want to lose the company and agreed to marry her. I know Celina, she’s not like any other woman who looks at any man’s pocket. It was you! You could have rejected dad’s offer because you had a girlfriend and dad would have insisted on her on me!” We are all looking at him, even the board. Then they looked at me as well.
“Stop it Noris!” Daddy John shouted. “This matter has to be discussed privately. You are putting Celina in an awkward situation. Is that how much you love her?” he added, and Noris had his head down. “Since you are not letting go of the past, let me tell you this. I offered this to you before your little brother. I didn’t want you to think that I treated him better than you. But you declined my offer and I am so proud of you. Choosing the woman you love over money is something I didn’t expect you to do. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t mean to offend you. It was because all this time, I thought you wanted to be part, really become part of the company. You worked hard for your position and I even admired you for that.”
“You should have at least told me that it was her, dad.” he said in a very low voice.
“I have no intention of pushing Celina towards you, because you already said that you had a woman that you loved. I wanted you to be really happy about that part, because I know that you’re feeling incomplete and being with your love will fill that hole in your heart. Noris, it was over 4 years ago. You have to let it go, especially when you already see how happy Celina was with your brother.” Daddy John told him and he looked at him and then at me. I smiled at him to let him know that Daddy John was telling the truth. I am indeed very happy.
Jefferson looked sad when I turned my gaze on him as he held my hand. I smiled at him to assure him that I was fine. The meeting had ended and, as my husband said, the three were dismissed from their positions in the company and were all just regular board members. They can still attend the board meeting, of course, and join discussions, but that’s all. They will be heard but they can’t have their hands on the actual operation.
