Jefferson’s POV
Celina was enjoying her work at Arts and Crafts and I was glad that she liked to be there. I thought she wouldn’t like it because of our argument, but it was only because I was with another woman. If it wasn’t the case, she would have accepted it since she would be designing. She told me about what had happened on her first day and I sulked for two days because it seems that she didn’t tell everyone that she was my wife.
Her request to bring Mr. Sunji in the firm confused me at first, only after she explained to me that I understood. She didn’t want anyone saying that she landed a project because of me, the same reason why she invited Mr. Sunji again.
I wonder what was going on in their meeting. It was scheduled a week later and during that time, she had been angry when we got home. I remember how she complained about her colleague’s attitude. “They thought highly of themselves and didn’t want to accept opinions. Because I was new and their ego couldn’t accept the fact that I was telling me that.”
“Is it always like that?” I asked.
“What?”
“The working environment among colleagues. It makes me wonder if everyone in the company was like yours too.”
“I don’t think so, they were just plain arrogant. I wonder how Dennis puts up with them,” she replied.
“I think you should tell them who you are at the company and who you are to me,” I suggested.
“Not yet. You see, I hold/ grudges.” she replied and I laughed at her, which earned me a glare from her.
Should I expect her to come to my office after their meeting just to rant and vent her anger? She was hard headed as well, but only when she knew that she was right and she looked super hot when she was in beast mode. A knock from my office door interrupted me from thinking.
“Come in,” I said, and there came in, Bree and I couldn’t help but furrow my brows. What does she need now? I had already told her to talk to Daria and yet here she was smiling at me despite the crease on my forehead.
“It’s almost lunch time, what do you want to eat?” she asked, as though she was my wife. Just what is wrong with her?
“What did I tell you about coming into my office?” I asked in a low and cold voice. I saw her stiffen for a moment but she immediately got back to herself.
“Come on, I was just asking what you wanted to eat.” she replied, still smiling.
“This is going to be the last time that you’re going to come to my office without asking you to do so. You may leave.” I warned her and this time, I saw to it that she would get the message to stop whatever she was doing. With a worried look on her face, she replied,
“Yes Sir, I’m sorry,” and left my office after. I don’t know why I had a feeling that she would still do it, so I decided to really fire her when she does that again. I kept myself busy after and stopped when Daria came in with my lunch. I smiled at her and said thank you when she placed the food on my table.
In times like this, I miss Celina so much. I wanted to eat with her and even if her office was not that far from mine, I was still hesitant to come and asked her out at lunch because she didn’t want anyone to know about us, yet. For now, all I can do is to wait for her and I just hope that she will decide sooner.
Daria took everything out after I was done and here I was ready to get back to work again when Celina called me, and I couldn’t help but smile. I feel her love for me every time she does this. You know, making the first move of talking to me and making love with me. “How did the meeting go, my Celina?” I asked as soon as I answered.
She chuckled before she replied, “Good, and Mr. Sunji still likes my work and it’s not because of you,” she answered. I already know that she’s good with her stuff. It was the main reason why I pushed to get a share in that firm.
“You didn’t get his approval first because of me either.” I told her,
“Yeah, I know that. When it comes to my work, I can judge it myself. Not to brag, but I know how excellent I am at designing.” she replied, “Anyway, are you done eating?” she asked,
“Hmm.” I hummed in reply. “You?”
“We have just finished our meeting so I will have my lunch now with Dennis and Mr. Sunji and his son, Lloyd, at the restaurant just in front of the building.” she informed me.
“Enjoy your meal, then.”
“OK, see you later. Bye,” she replied and cut the call. She didn’t even say” I love you to me? I am getting crazy, I even see that small thing. Wait, is that even a small thing? I think not. Saying she loves me will complete my day and I hope it was the same for her. I shook my head after and leaned back before I closed my eyes.
Tsk! I will just work now and talk to her later. It would be fine if I asked her to say” I love you” to me” before we end our call, right? Am I being clingy if I do that? There’s nothing wrong if I ever get clingy, right? Oh, man, why am I thinking like this? What am I, a teenage boy? Before I really get crazy, I continue working and get Celina out of my mind for a moment. I was sure that she was going to be very busy as well, so I had to give her her working time.
So, I focused on my work until I didn’t notice that it was already time for home. I looked at myself and had not received any text or call from my wife. I guess she was really busy. I stop what I am doing and start to prepare for home when I receive a text message.
‘I guess your little wife has a flirty side that she hides from you.’ said the text, and then another message saying ‘See?’ with a photo of Celina and a man who was holding her hand. My face hardened and different scenarios came to mind. I was mad and I don’t know if it was for Celina, the man she was with, or from the sender. Either way, I intend to find out the truth. I’m pissed!
