Jefferson’s POV
The trip to Kenom did great to our relationship. After we came back, we were more intimate together. Celina even initiated sometimes and I liked it. She can keep up with my needs, which made me think that she was now comfortable with me and she told me everything she wanted to tell me and so am I. Our little making out started to get a little creative as the days went on and it made me feel excited about it. She let me do what I wanted to do for her and I let her do the same. All in all, I was more than satisfied with her and I loved her so much.
We often talked about the company and her projects and I saw how happy she was whenever her clients were satisfied with her work. She was really good at her stuff and she was happy about it.
It has been very hectic in the last week because of a partnership proposal that we managed to bag yesterday. It was an architecture firm. Thinking that Celina likes to design and she was actually an architect, I thought that she would want to work there, so I tried to get a share there with some requests as well. Bree, my secretary, helped me with that, so when she requested a celebration dinner, I agreed to show my gratitude. I didn’t notice the time because she was very talkative and had a lot of ideas. Apparently, she likes to design as well.
It was 9 when we finished but I had to send Bree to a bus stop that was a little far before I went home. She said that their community was so small that a car couldn’t pass through easily. That’s why no taxis wanted to send passengers there. It was late and I got a little worried because she’s a woman, so I just dropped her off at a bus stop before I went home.
Celina was about to get up when I entered the house and I got worried because she looked sad and it was late already. Why is she still awake? She asked me if I drank and I couldn’t deny that because it was very obvious, so I told her what had happened. She’s not welcoming at all, so I got really worried about this. She was not like this whenever I came home. She turned her back at me after I answered her question, but I stopped her when I noticed that she was dressed.
“I also had my dinner,” she replied.
“Where? Why did you just get home now?” I asked continuously. Why didn’t she tell me that she was going out?
“In the dining hall,” she replied and motioned to the dining area with her head before she continued walking up the stairs and I just watched her. I felt like there was something wrong so I went to the dining area to check it out and found Susane and Lory cleaning up the table.
“Did we have a visitor that I didn’t know about?” I asked them and they looked at each other before they shook their heads. “Then what’s with all this food?”
“Celina said that she wanted to surprise you with dinner for your wedding anniversary.” Susane replied and I know that she was mad at me as well. Fu****g sh*t! No wonder she looked like that.
I rushed to our bedroom hoping that she would talk to me. I know that I am in deep sh*t and I am such an id*t to forget about it. How can I be so stupid? She was not in bed when I came in but I heard the shower running so I sat and waited for her to come out.
“Celina,” I said, she didn’t respond and just gave me a glance before she went to bed, “Celina, let’s talk.” I said again, “Celina,”
“Stop it Jefferson, I didn’t want to talk right now.” she said, and covered herself with a comforter before she turned her back at me.
‘Celina, come on. Let’s talk things over. I didn’t want to sleep with you mad at me. Please don’t make this so big.” I said and then she suddenly got up from bed, glaring at me,
“Did you think that I was making this big?”
“It’s not what I meant, I just wanted to talk. What’s wrong with that?”
“OK, what are you going to say?”
“I want to say sorry,”
“Just because you say sorry now, you expect me to forgive you and we can go and sleep soundly? You know why I didn’t want to talk? Because no matter how many times you say sorry, I am not going to forgive you.” she replied. “Did you know why?” she continued, “It’s because our wedding anniversary has been put aside for a request from a secretary!!” she shouted,
“I asked her for help so I decided to accept her request!” I couldn’t help but yell back.
“What request, giving you a bl** job? ” she asked, and if it was under different circumstances, I would have laughed at her because of the hesitation in her voice, because I knew that she was not used to those kinds of words.
“Is that what you think of me?” I asked angrily.
“Are you an id** not to think why she had to request dinner from you when she could request compensation? I thought you were surrounded by women before, so none of them made a move to invite you for a meal, showing their motives?”
“Are you jealous now?”
“You asking me that? Is that even the issue here?”
“Then you should have called or texted me!” I shouted.
“So now you think I’m an id** blabbering here and there talking nonsense to you for not doing what you had just said?” she asked and took her phone and handed it to me. It was her outgoing calls to me that started at 8 o’clock.
“You can look at the sent message as well.” she added, and did it to confirm that she texted me in the afternoon telling me to be home at 7 and text messages beyond 8 pm. I started to look for my cell phone, then I heard her chuckling, so I looked at him,
“What, you don’t know where your phone is?” I couldn’t respond to that and she continued, “So besides your d**k, your secretary holds your phone as well?”
“Celina!!” I yelled,
“What!!” she yelled back,
“You saw it, I texted you in the afternoon, so it’s either you choose to have a date with your secretary or your secretary has your phone.” She actually has the right to get angry but I didn’t like the idea that she was thinking that I was cheating on her.
“Celina, she means nothing to me, I swear.” I said in a low voice.
“Nothing that you have dinner with her?”
“It was only to say thank you for her help.”
“Then how did you say thank you to Daria? She has been with you for a long time and surely helps you many times over. She had been hit by your ex-girlfriend many times as well. Tell me how you thank her.” I couldn’t answer that because I never did anything for Daria. “Never right?” she asked,
“Yes, never.” I replied,
“So what makes your secretary special?” she asked,
“She’s not.” I replied, “It’s just that she helped me get a partnership with an architectural firm. I just thought that you were getting bored here and wanted to work in a field that you like and are happy about, so I tried to get a share in the firm. It was supposed to be a birthday present for you and I didn’t realize that I had been going overboard.” I continued with my head down. “I even forgot our wedding anniversary.” I added and looked at her,
“I’m really sorry, my Celina. I promise that I am not going to forget about it anymore.”
“I want to sleep now,” she just said and went to bed. I followed her movements with my gaze and I wanted us to be OK already, but I guess I disappointed her a big time, so I just let her. It’s the first time that we will be sleeping like this. It was much worse than when things were not clear between us and our first fight.
