Celina’s POV
How dare he? How can he flaunt his affair in public? I already gave myself to him, so why does he need to have another woman? Am I not enough? What the f*** is it lacking in me?
S** goddess my a*s. After he called me that, he even went into another woman’s lap? He is such a pervert! I sat back in my chair as I put down my cell phone. Jefferson is really something and I don’t think I will be able to understand him. I thought we were already doing OK and we were starting to live our married life.
When did it happen? Was it yesterday that he forgot to call me? Is that the reason why he did not even bother to talk to me? I felt like throwing away my phone when the door swung open. When I looked, it was st****’s face that I see which made me roll my eyes at him.
“What, are you still mad over nothing?” he asked, with a serious face. He dared to act like he did nothing wrong and asked me whether I was still mad?
“Then don’t bother talking to me if you think that I was mad over nothing.” I replied as I started cleaning the table. Gosh, it was a good thing that I finished everything before I looked into my phone. If I had found out about it earlier, I don’t think I would have been able to do anything.
“Did you already pack your things?” he asked. I was planning to do that after I’m done, but because of what I had found out, I don’t think I needed to pack anymore.
“No,” I replied, not giving him a glance. I missed him and we didn’t even talk yesterday after he left me here. I was afraid that I would forget about what I had found out earlier and jumped at him.
“Why not?” he asked,
“Why would I?” I replied.
“What is really going on, Celina?” he asked, and I could see frustration in him.
“Why are you asking me, why not ask yourself?”
“I’m asking because I don’t know and I had no idea about what was making you mad!” he exclaimed. I glared at him and passed him to go to our bedroom. Just as I opened the door, Susane was there with a tray of food in her hand.
“Oh, you finally came out. I was worried that you haven’t had your lunch yet.” she said,
“Please put that back in the dining room, I am going to eat there.” I replied, smiling.
“You haven’t eaten yet?” Jefferson yelled, which made Susane look at him and then at me,
“Just take it there.” I told her, still smiling, and she nodded and walked ahead. I followed her and ignored Jefferson, but he stopped me.
“Why haven’t you eaten yet?” he asked, impatiently.
“Because I was busy. Don’t think that it was because of you, because that’s not gonna happen. I won’t starve myself just because of someone like you.”
“And what about me? What did I do? Why the f*** can’t you just tell me what I did so I would know?” he shouted.
“Can’t you lower your voice? Why are you even shouting? If you can’t think of anything, then you did nothing!” I told him, trying to control my voice. I didn’t want the maids to think that we were fighting. I started walking away and I was glad that he didn’t bother to follow.
“Why are you two fighting?” Susane asked, “I’m sorry if you think that I am meddling with your business, but I thought everything was going smoothly between you two already.” she added and I nodded.
“That’s what I thought too,” I replied.
“Then what happened?” she asked.
“I know that you are concerned about Jefferson. You had been with him for a long time and probably treated him as your child, but I want our problem to be between us. I didn’t want others to, you know, say something that would make us feel self-pity or even add fuel to the fire.” I replied,
“I understand. For a start, that is good. You wanted to settle your problems between you two.” She said, “But I want to tell you as well that talking about whatever problems you have was good as well. I heard him asking you what was going on, so I think he really had no idea why you were mad at him. I was just saying, you know.” she added, with a smile, and I smiled at her too.
I know what she meant. She wanted me to talk to Jefferson and tell him what was going on or what made me angry at him. “Another thing. You should pack your things already. He will still bring you with him to wherever you take by hook or by crook.” she added, grinning, and I nodded at her. I ate my food as I realized how hungry I was. I’m so thankful that Susane was really reliable and knowing that she was ready to bring these foods to me was somewhat refreshing.
She cooked us food, yeah. But her actually taking care of me was new to me. I had been taking care of myself for a long time and having someone like her made me special. I ate a lot and Susane looked really happy when she saw my plate with nothing. Yes, all the sandwiches she made were now sitting on my stomach and had been digesting slowly.
“I will go to our bedroom now,” I told her and she smiled at me. I got up from my chair and walked to the stairs. When I was in front of our bedroom, I felt hesitant to get in. What if he was there? What am I going to do or say to him? Wait, why would I be bothered about that if I did nothing wrong?
He was the one who had done me wrong, so he should be the one who should feel sorry. With that thought, I decided to go in. But what I didn’t expect was to hear the conversation he was having with whoever he or she was. “You know that it was a lot easier to process a divorce in Kenom,” he said.
My eyes widened. Did he want to bring me there so we could process our divorce? Is he still planning on divorcing me even after what has happened to us already? That photo! That must be the reason why he wanted to pursue it now. My face turned gloomy but I tried not to harden it so he wouldn’t know that I already knew about his plan. He faced me and I clearly saw the shock on his face. I never thought that I would actually hear what he was planning.
