Ace stood in front of his car as he laid his back on it. He was going through his phone when he saw a car drive in, moving towards the garage to park and he was sure that was Cynthia’s car. He stood as he watched the car move. He stretched his neck to peek through to see if Cynthia had come with Sophia just as she had said she would.
Shortly, the car finally stopped moving. It parked inside the garage as Ace saw the driver’s seat door pushed open. He saw Cynthia climb out of the car as he wondered why Sophia didn’t come with Cynthia.
Upon seeing just Cynthia climb out of the car, Ace felt so bad that Sophia didn’t come. As he was about to walk into his office, he saw Cynthia talking to someone inside the car but he wasn’t sure who she was talking to because the car glass was tinted. He was unable to see clearly who was inside.
While he tried to know who Cynthia was talking to, suddenly, he saw the front passenger door pushed open. He was curious to know who it could be.
“She really came?” He guessed inwardly.
He spoke to himself inwardly and it seemed he guessed right. She actually came.
He watched Sophia as she gradually stepped out of the car and walked towards him alongside Cynthia.
“Good morning boss.” Cynthia greeted and Sophia followed. “Good morning sir.”
Sophia’s voice brought Ace out from his dazed state.
He blinked. His mouth moved but words were hard to come out from his mouth.
“We are here.” Said Cynthia as Ace blinked again. His eyes were still on Sophia’s face. He stared at her emotionlessly. He knew he was very excited to see her and he should at least give a hint of happiness but no! He didn’t.
His face was as cold as always. No smile or any form of happy expression.
“I will be taking you and the girls for a party today. A friend of mine will be coming to America and a party will be held to welcome his presence. He is a very good friend of mine.” He said as he scratched his head, still gazing coldly at Sophia before he continued to talk.
“Right now, I want you to prepare the girls and make them ready. The designer will be getting an outfit made with the same design for the girls.” He said and cleared his throat as he looked at Cynthia.
“The designer will also give you an outfit made with a different design from the girls. Put them on and make sure you all look good.” He said.
“And you… see me in my office.” He said to Sophia as he walked into the building, heading towards his office. Sophia knew he was referring to her because of the kind of cold look he gave her when he said “see me in my office.”
By the cold look he gave her, Sophia cared less. Why should she be afraid of him? She already made it clear to him from the onset that she wasn’t scared of him and giving her such a look won’t put any fear in her. Afterall, she was already used to his dangerous way of looking.
The moment Ace walked out from the two girls, Cynthia and Sophia gazed at themselves at the same time.
“He said you should see him in his office.” Said Cynthia as she curved her lips sideways.
“Let me go and prepare the girls while you go and see him in his office… whatever he says, don’t fail to tell me okay?” Said Cynthia and Sophia nodded.
“Sure!” Sophia replied as she watched Cynthia walk out and a few seconds later, Sophia walked into the building, heading towards Ace’s office.
Once she got there, she saw his office door already opened and there was no way for her to knock because she sighted Ace sitting on his table as he gave her a hand sign to walk in.
Sophia walked in quietly and shut the door. She took a few steps forward and stood at a spot without moving.
She stood and gazed directly at his face without saying a word for about 2 minutes and Ace on the other hand, did the same. They continued to stare at each other without getting tired. Sophia’s facial expression was filled with curiosity as she stood and hoped he would say something anytime soon.
Sophia was beginning to get tired of standing without saying a thing. She was also tired of Ace staring intensely at her so she decided to break the silence.
She cleared her throat which caught Ace’s attention. He slightly smiled the moment he saw that she was trying to stutter out some words.
“you…” Sophia tried to speak but her words sounded like whispers. it seemed her voice suddenly went cracked.
She slightly coughed to at least clear her throat a bit before she tried talking again and luckily, the quick cough helped out. She spoke again and this time, Ace heard her so clearly.
“You… you said I should see you in your office and I have been here for a few minutes now but you aren’t saying anything. Instead, you kept staring at me coldly.” Said Sophia as she blinked once still looking at him to hear what he has to say.
The atmosphere became calm again. Ace didn’t say a word neither did Sophia.
‘He signaled me to walk in only to ignore me? What kind of man is he?’ Sophia was damn angry and decided to just walk out from his office.
‘Fuck you!’ she angrily said inwardly to herself as she tried leaving his office but then, his cold and husky voice stopped her.
“No one walks out of me!” He said as he stood from his seated position and walked towards Sophia and stood in front of her.
He cleared his throat.
“Don’t try to be brave in my territory.” He said as he moved her hair aside and brought his mouth closer to her ears.
“Because if you do, trust me, you won’t go free just like you did the other day.” He said.
Sophia heard his words and was frustrated.
‘I’m actually doing this for you Cynthia.’ she said to herself inwardly as she swallowed her own saliva. She gazed at Ace without saying a word.
If she must fulfil the promise she made to Cynthia, she needed to tolerate him and that was what she was trying to do.
“Yeah! I asked you to see me in my office.” He said as he distanced his mouth from her ears. He took a few steps and started walking around Sophia in a circular form while gazing coldly at her.
Once he had walked around her for sometime, he paused.
“So tell me, after walking away the moment you realized I was Cynthia’s boss the other day, why did you come back? Oh, I know why you did.” He said as he held her jaw and made her look at him in the eyes.
“You actually came back because I was irresistible.” He said as he smirked. His sexy eyes were fixed on Sophia’s eyes and Sophia could not help but stay mute. She was trying so hard to hold her anger from exploding.
“The brave girl suddenly lost her voice the moment she realized I spoke the truth.” Said Ace as he took his nose very close to her neck as he inhaled Sophia deeply. He took a breath in as he couldn’t resist the attractive smell of her body.
While he inhaled her deeply, Sophia stared at him in the most disgusting way but it was fortunate for her that he didn’t see her giving him such a look.
Sophia closed her eyes tightly as she gritted her teeth in anger and frustration.
“You smell so nice. Your body smells so good and I hope you are also good in bed.” He said as he chuckled.
His words were becoming unbearable for Sophia but all she needed to do was continue to ignore him.
‘Fuck ignorance!’ she said inwardly to herself as she continued to grit her teeth and fold her arm as if she was going to throw a punch on someone if only she gets the opportunity to do so.
“That reminds me. Forgive my manners… Come have a seat.” He said in a calm tone as he led her to a couch where she sat down and angrily gazed at him without saying a word.
“I believe Cynthia already told you the nature of the job…” he said and Sophia stayed mute.
“Well, I will be offering you another job opportunity.” He said as he waited for some time to see if Sophia had anything to say but she didn’t say a thing.
“Like I said earlier, I Will be hosting a party. A friend of mine who will be arriving in America soon and… I will be paying you to act as my girlfriend until he goes out of America. Say any amount you want and I will pay you.” He said.
Sophia couldn’t believe what she just heard.
‘What does he take me for? A desperate girl?’ She said Inwardly to herself as she tried acting stubborn but the moment she remembered Cynthia, she decided to behave calmly.
“How long do I have to act as your girlfriend?” She asked.
“Until he leaves America. I already said it before now.” He replied.
“Can we sign a contract on it? A contract stating that our relationship ends the moment your friend leaves… can we?” She asked.
“Contract? I don’t think so.” He rebuked.
He doesn’t want to loose her yet. He knew of he should agree to signing a contract with her, she would definitely leave once the contract is over and he there was nothing he could do about to stop her.
“If there will be no contract signing, then, I don’t think there will be any need for me to accept your offer.” Sophia said. She said it to see what his reaction would be.
‘she is proving stubborn.’ he said and pinched the skin in-between his brows inrustion.
‘A fake contract would do.’ he said to himself and smiled.
Sophia on the other hand Wondered why he was smiling.
“Ok, fine! We will sign a contract on it then.” He agreed and continued to smile the moment he remembered he was going to give her a fake contract.
“The deal is done, girlfriend.” He said as Sophia sighed.
“Get ready. We are going for shopping. I need to buy you some expensive dresses so you don’t disgrace me with those rags you call dress.” He said as he grabbed Sophia’s hand and walked out of the office, heading towards the car.
