When he smirked, my mood darkened like the draperies on his window, and I saw blood! I was taken aback by his bravado and went away, but I came to a halt when I heard him giggle. He must have felt I was a coward since I was unable to meet his demands.
Before walking away, I cursed him and said, “I hope you get herpes soon.” Wishing someone ill was impolite, but he brought out the worst in me. I saw the bodyguard when I exited his room and ignored him. I shouldn’t take my rage out on him because he didn’t do anything wrong.
Dom grabbed my arm just as I entered my room. “Hey!” I yelled at him for being impolite.
He remarked, “That was mean, Marian.”
“What did you mean by that? When I wanted you’d have herpes as quickly as possible? Do you believe you don’t deserve it?” It didn’t bother me if I harmed his feelings. I just stopped caring, and he should know that he is the wrong one, not me!
“Now is the time for you to apologize to me,” he said.
“Apologize?” I responded, smirking at his demeanor. Why should I bother? Dominic balled his fist as I proceeded to be tough in front of him.
Dominic opted to leave out of irritation rather than lose his cool and raise his hand at me. Despite his rage issues, he remained a gentleman.
As if nothing had happened in the interim, I concentrated on my work and chose to ignore him. Of course, we’d part ways sooner or later, but I needed to prepare my heart first. I was unconsciously accustomed to his presence, and suddenly abandoning him would have a significant influence on me.
My mind was full of thoughts about my fiancé while I thawed the meat. I want Ethan to get out of the market as soon as possible to go home.
A woman entered the kitchen unexpectedly. My brows sprang up to their highest point because it was the first time Dom had let someone from the harem into my office area other than for meals.
“Do you require any assistance?” I inquired of the woman I imagined to be Hera.
“I’m starving. “Could you make something tasty for me?” She made a request.
Before smiling at her, I took a look at the clock. Then, I said, “I don’t accept instructions from anyone, sweetheart.”
She was clearly insulted by how I spoke to her as if she were nothing more than a whore! “You already know I’m not just anyone!”
“You’re not exceptional just because you’re his favorite in bed, Hera.” I made it clear to Dom’s mistress that I would never obey anyone’s orders, particularly hers.
“Wait until I marry him!” she exclaimed as though Dominic had already proposed to her, she threatened me.
I agreed with the woman with a nod and then sneered at her. I corrected her, “You are not even his girlfriend.” “Hera, if I want him, I can have him. So stop pissing me off in the kitchen with your face and leave before you regret it.”
The woman trembled in surprise as I told her the harsh words, and then she narrowed her lovely eyes at me. Then, finally, she responded, “You can’t do that.”
“Try me,” I said, daring her to do so. “You’re wasting your time arguing with me, Hera, because I’m not your competition.”
“You’re lying, Marian,” she said my name for the first time, and I had no idea she knew who I was.
“Why should I?”
“I can tell you liked him too by the way you look at him!” Then, she insisted on seeing some of my creations for his girlfriend.
She was correct in her guess. Dominic may not notice the way I look at him, but a female colleague would. I rolled my eyes at Hera because she was so obstinate. Finally, I said, “Whatever. Please leave when you’ve finished chatting. Otherwise, I’ll have to go back to my room, and we’ll all have to forgo lunch later.”
Hera scowled at me for behaving arrogantly around her, but she had no choice but to ignore me. “I despise you,” she screamed angrily.
“It’s a shared sentiment, dear,” I responded with a threatening tone, which made her flinch. “If you’re starving, go acquire your meal on your own,” I told her that we were just equal in Dominic’s place and that I wasn’t her maid.
I was able to breathe normally after Hera had left. The redhead tested my patience, and I was on the verge of losing it earlier. When I got back to cooking, I was perplexed as to why Dominic had allowed his woman to stroll around the house.
Was he trying to tell me that Hera would become his wife?
Or perhaps Hera was the only one who was allowed to roam freely. Was he smitten by Hera’s beauty? Hopefully not, since he’ll be mine in no time.
I managed to cook their lunch without incident while trying to stay calm among the raging storm inside my heart.
After setting up the dining hall, I ate alone as usual and returned to my room.
I decided to go out at four o’clock in the afternoon, but I wasn’t expecting to find Dominic in the hallway with a woman. I intended to ignore the couple, but he was the one who noticed me first and yelled my name. When his partner smiled at me, I felt compelled to return the smile, even if I didn’t feel like it.
“Yes, Boss?” When Dom approached me, I inquired.
“Are you going to the kitchen right now?”
“Isn’t it self-evident?” My eyes moved to his companion, who looked sensual in her figure-hugging little dress, and I replied sarcastically. Dominic was stunned at my crankiness, but I didn’t give a damn about his reaction and walked away.
