Vanessa’s P. O. V.
Blake’s silly jokes have made me feel ridiculously amused. I slapped him on the shoulder while still laughing.
“Hey! stop laughing! You look crazy!” he exclaimed, also laughing.
“No, I’m not! It’s you because you’re telling me some silly jokes!” I yelled at him.
The night Blake came to my house, I was overjoyed. He said that he wanted to come see me, so I let him. We just drank and talked for a while before he went home. He needs to return home because he still has a lot of work to do. I admire him for being a hard worker. That type of guy is uncommon because most men are lazy, but Blake is not one of them.
“If I’m not too busy, I’ll pay you another visit.”
I couldn’t help but smile. “Of course! Just bring a lot of food, okay?”
He laughed after nodding. “Yes I will. And so many more!”
“Wow! How much money do you have?! I guess you have a lot, and I hope I do as well!”
“You know, you shouldn’t be sad because you’re alone. You should be happy because you’re still alive. Life is very important, and many of us want to live but our bodies can’t handle it anymore, or they died in an unexpected event.”
I just smile at him. Blake was correct. I should be happy because I am still alive. I’m actually very pleased. I just can’t help but feel sad when I’m alone at home.
“A trash bag with human flesh. Its body was torn to pieces as if it had been eaten by some horrible animal. The man was identified as James, the man who raped a minor. Police do not yet know who the threw it to the side of the bridge. ”
I paid close attention to what was said on television. Then I grabbed my phone to see if anyone had posted a clear image of the man’s body on social media. My eyes widened when I saw the man’s fragmented body being shared on social media. It wasn’t just a wild animal that did it. I’m sure werewolves did it.
I suddenly felt angry. I know there are still werewolves left here. I don’t believe they’re gone. They are just hiding. I know there are many werewolves here living with us. They are not dead. I don’t believe they were killed by the people who rushed at them. They may just be hiding and living as human beings but when the full moon comes they will not be able to control themselves. They cannot control themselves to kill humans. I don’t know if they only eat animals flesh. Maybe sometimes they ate human flesh. And I think a werewolf once again ate that man because he could not control himself.
“What’s the matter, Vanessa? Are you okay?” Blake ask me with the tone of care in his voice.
I clenched my fist and walked away. Blake is calling, but I am not looking at him. I keep walking until I reach my table. I sit down and take a deep breath. I get enraged every time I hear about the werewolves. I’ll never forget how they killed my parents. I really want to get even with them, but I don’t know how to tell if someone is human or a werewolf. I’ve heard they’re allergic to silver. It’s their flaw. Maybe I can use my silver knife on my house.
I sighed and smiled as I looked at him. “I’m fine. I’m just… you know, something came to mind that irritated me a little bit.”
“Oh, what is that?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.
I just laughed and shook my head. “Don’t worry about it. It’s just nothing. It’s just about me. About myself and a problem, but it’s not a big problem. Don’t be concerned.”
He approaches me and taps me on the shoulder. “You know what, Vanessa? I can be your close friend so you can tell me your problem and I promise I’ll never tell anyone. I just want you to feel relieved, and it’s not good to keep your problem to yourself,” he said, smiling.
I put on a fake smile for him. I’m not sure I can trust him. Actually, I don’t trust anyone except myself because most people nowadays are imposters. And maybe one of the people I met one day isn’t a human at all. Maybe they’re werewolves, and I can’t trust anyone but myself.
“You’re so sweet, but no thanks. Don’t worry about me. I can handle my problem on my own and it’s not a big deal. It’s just my problem can’t be removed.”
“All right, if that’s what you want, but don’t be afraid to come to me. I’m always available.”
I smiled at him before getting to work. I sighed deeply as I remembered the torn body of a human. Who did it? I really want to meet and kill a werewolf. But I can’t seem to find them. I can’t seem to find at least one of them.
I was waiting for a taxi when a black car pulled in front of me. I cocked my brow and waited to see who was inside the car. When I saw Zeux open his window, my eyes widened.
“What?” I asked, rolling my eyes.
“It’s getting late, so I’ll drive you home,” he said quietly. I’m not sure, but it sounds good to me.
I gave him a sly grin. “No way, I don’t believe you. I can’t trust you.”
He gets out of his car and looks as if he can’t believe what I just said. I give him a bored look. According to what I know and the gossip in the office, he is an arrogant and hot-headed individual. But why is he acting this way towards me? I mean, he’s a little nice to me? Why? His employees describe him differently. And I’m not sure why he acts like a good man toward me. I’m talking about a good boss.
“Why are you so obstinate? And you just doubt me? That I’m going to harm you or do something bad to you? Why would I? I’m not a bad person; I just want to be good to you.”
My eyes grew small as I stared at him. He is astounded. “Why? Why do you want to be a good person to me?”
He gulped and then averted his gaze. “Ahm… because you’re also a good person,” he said without looking me in the eyes.
I smiled and then averted my gaze. I have a feeling he’s keeping something from me. He has a secret that I must know.
