I understood if I made any delay, I might lose Marco; I called a person and said, “It’s time we need to do something.”
Jane’s POV
Everything seems normal in the last few days, but I don’t know why I have continued feeling that something bad is about to happen.
We finished our breakfast and Marco left for the office, just when he left, I felt nausea. I ran to the bathroom and vomited; Mary stood next to me, patting my back.
After I cleaned myself and came out of the bathroom, Mary said, “Mam, when did your last period come?”
I was a little stunned hearing her; I really lost track of my periods. I asked her to get a pregnancy test kit.
After some time, Mary gave me the kit; I was a bit nervous before doing the check. I did the test, and it was positive. I was very happy; if I am not wrong, I must be two months pregnant.
I was eager to tell Marco about this news, but I have to wait till night. I was getting impatient to tell him. I want to see his reaction when I tell him that we are going to be parents.
I am feeling so happy that I am pregnant with my love’s baby.
In the evening, he called me and said that he would be a little late. I was disappointed, but I didn’t say anything and waited for him.
Marco’s POV
I was working in my office when Lucas called me. At first I didn’t want to respond to his call because of the incident at my home, because of which I hurt my Angel so much.
But he kept on calling continuously, so I decided to pick the call for the sake of our childhood friendship.
First, he apologized for that day saying that he was a little drunk, so he misbehaved with my staff, as they don’t know about my relationship with my Angel.
I had made up my mind not to forgive him, but after hearing his explanation, I decided to forgive him, as I don’t want to lose my childhood friend.
After talking for some time, he said that he had a business deal to discuss. So we confirmed the time to meet in the evening in a café near my house.
I wanted to finish this meeting fast and go home because I know my Angel must be waiting for me. After confirming the meeting, I called my Angel and informed her that I would be a little late.
I felt disappointment in her voice; I was happy thinking that she was waiting for me.
I asked Nina to accompany me as Andrew was out of town for today. He will be back tomorrow.
I wanted Nina to take proper notes of all the details discussed. So I asked her to accompany me.
I met Lucas at the decided time and location, and we started a discussion about the opportunity. While discussing it, Nina said, “President, if that incident hadn’t happened that year, we could have got this project without any other help.”
These words stuck to my mind; once again, all my injuries were opened. Lucas added, “Yes bro if you would have worked with Carter Grayson at that time…I think by now you would have left him behind in terms of wealth.”
Nina added, “Yes, President, there were many projects which we lost because of that incident.”
All these words were irritating me, I felt like someone was poking a hundred needles on my body. I was blaming myself that how could I forget my biggest dream and have a happy life with the culprit of the killer of my dreams?
I was in no mood to listen to anything more, I stood up to leave but saw it was raining heavily. All three of us came out of the café and I walked towards my car; Lucas said that he would drop Nina at her home as her home was on his way.
The moment I was about to enter my car, Lucas came running and said, “Bro, my car broke down, and I can’t even get any cab at this hour, can I borrow a car from you.”
My mood was already pissed beyond boundaries, I don’t know why I was feeling so irritated.
I nodded to Lucas and said, “Get in the car, you can pick any car from my place.”
We all settled in the car and headed to my home; it was already late at night.
Jane’s POV
It was already 11 pm, but he was still not here. I told Mary many times that she should go and rest, but she said she will not leave me alone at this time.
Soon I heard the car screeching. I understood he was here, my heartbeat increased thinking how to tell him and what his reaction would be.
I saw him walking in the living room, but two people followed him: Lucas and his secretary, Nina. I don’t like both of them.
I can see lust in Lucas’ eyes and Nina; I always feel that she is not what she pretends.
Forgetting about both of them, I ran towards Marco and said in excitement, “Marco, I have something very important to tell you.”
He looked at me, but his eyes didn’t have a love for me. I can only see hatred in his eyes. I don’t know what happened to him, and he said coldly, “What is it?”
I felt a little weird and said, “Marco, It’s a bit personal.”
He sneered, looking at me and said, “Everyone present here is my own people, if you want to say, say it in front of them.”
I thought he might be right because Lucas is his friend, and Nina is his secretary, and anyhow everyone will know about this news today or tomorrow, so I said, “Marco, I am pregnant.”
The moment I finished, he walked towards me and said, “What did you say?”
