You’re the foolish one

Book:Exclusively The CEO's Published:2024-6-2

What the CEO had meant by they should move it, he didn’t know.
Maybe he knew where the future lady of Empire World Corporation was… Stone sighed.
Danielle snapped her head to the left, trying to figure out where Emily was seated at. But she didn’t see anyone that looked like the wench.
She looked beside her and saw that Michael had also disappeared.
‘Where are they?’ She asked herself rhetorically in her mind.
‘Or …’ She looked around again but still didn’t find Emily.
Exactly!
Anderson had began moves. Danielle smirked.
A message popped up on her phone and she hastily read it. It was from Anderson, and it was a message that confirmed her suspicions.
Danielle’s smirk turned into a wide grin. It was time to move.
She stood up on her feet and took a secret exit out of the hall.
Almost immediately, Joel stood up on his feet and trailed after her, leaving some distance between them.
Danielle got out of the hall, walked towards her car, looked around to make sure she wasn’t being watched and got in her car.
“Once her car moves, move.” Joel ordered Stone as he settled next to him in the car.
As soon as Danielle switched on the ignition of her car, she revved the car slightly and drove out of the hotel. Little did she know she was being trailed.
As Stone drove, Joel gave instructions and orders to his boys. They were in three vans behind Joel and Stone, following Joel’s car closely.

Minister Lee stared at the beautiful body of the girl lying on the bed with lust in his eyes.
He had been watching Emily all through in the hall, visualizing the image of having her in his bed in his head.
He kept replaying the image of bedding her in his head. He couldn’t clear the image from his mind.
Ever since he saw Emily step into the hall, he had been watching her. Her shinny, glittering skin enticing him and giving him arousals.
He had even had a pang of jealousy when he watched her dance with CEO Joel and it was then he decided that he wasn’t going to wait for Stephanie to make her move, he was going to make his move and have s*x with the girl after the dance.
And true to his intention, after the dance, as soon as he saw Emily get up from her seat and walked out of the hall, he had waited for a while before going after her in order not to arouse suspicions.
After a while, he had also stood up on his feet and walked out of the hall. He didn’t know where Emily had headed to, so he decided to hide and strike once she was going back into the hall and that was exactly what he had done.
His men had carried Emily upstairs into one of the hotel rooms for him to feast on her. After they dropped her on the bed, they had injected a harmful substance that would make her weak and unable to move once she was awake.
Minister Lee had appraised them for a job well done and told them to stay outside and guard the door while he enjoyed his feast.
Minister Lee sat on the edge of the bed and ran his hand on the smooth skin of the unconscious girl.
He stood up on his feet and giddily, he headed for the bathroom for a thorough wash.

Michael groaned in pain, blinking his blurry eyes as he gained consciousness. He had passed out when he got hit.
“Hello, bingo!” His eyes were still blurry, so he couldn’t see the person talking, clearly.
But strangely, the voice sounded familiar.
“My stupid best friend!” Anderson spat out.
“Anderson?!” Michael couldn’t believe his eyes and ears.
His blurry eyes were now crystal clear.
Back then when Michael’s wife had suddenly disappeared, Anderson had told him one morning that he would be traveling for a one week business trip.
But even after a week, Anderson hadn’t returned. He never returned.
So, he was the one… he was the one that had abducted his wife. Michael couldn’t help but break into perspiration.
His best friend!
“What did I do to you?” He also couldn’t help but ask.
“Being a Manchester!” Anderson spat out again.
“Bu-but…” Michael hadn’t completed his sentence when Danielle walked in.
“Danielle?!” Michael couldn’t help but call out her name in bewilderment.
“You… you knew about this-too?” Michael asked hastily, he felt a headache coming.
Danielle?! They lived under the same roof… all those while, she knew but had never for once told him anything.
Danielle waved it off. “I’m sorry, Oppa.”
She rolled her eyes, and looked at Anderson. “Where is that wench?”
“But.. what do you guys plan to gain by doing all these?” Michael asked bitterly.
Anderson laughed. “Empire World Corporation, and everything else that you own.”
“How? You think Joel will release everything to you?” Michael asked again.
Anderson smirked.
He walked around for a bit before responding to Michael’s question. “Well, we have you… and if using you doesn’t work on him, we have his weakness, Emily.”
Michael went mute.
“Where is Evelyn?. Please let me see her.” Michael pleaded desperately.
“Ah!” Anderson scoffed.
He snapped his fingers and a blindfolded Evelyn was brought forth.
“Evelyn!” Michael gasped as one of Anderson’s men untied the blindfold on Evelyn’s eyes.
“Michael!” Evelyn rushed forward to her husband.
But before she could touch him, Anderson’s words stopped her. “Don’t touch him!”
Abruptly, Evelyn stopped. Trembling.
Anderson smirked as he stood before her.
“So you want to touch him?…. right in my presence?.. bitch!” He spat out venom and gave Evelyn a backhand slap on her face.
“Don’t touch her!!!” Michael yelled, struggling with the ropes tied around him.
Anderson turned his head towards him, leaving the sobbing Evelyn that had already collapsed on the floor.
“I swear once I’m untied, I will kill you!” Michael spat out.
“Hahaha!” Anderson giggled evilly.
He moved forward and sent blows to Michael’s face.
“Please stop hitting him… please…” Evelyn pleaded in between sobs.
After he was sure Michael’s mouth was dripping blood, Anderson left him.
“Wait, you are stupid-you know that?” He chuckled.
“Who told you I’ll release Evelyn to you if you bring Emily to me huh?!” Anderson asked.
“You really are foolish.” He laughed.
Danielle stood there watching the show in total satisfaction.
She looked around and found Emily’s lifeless body on the floor. She smirked and walked towards her body. She arched down her lower back and with her left hand, she removed the strands of hair that had fallen on Emily’s face.
But then, she scrunched up her face.. sometime was amiss, this wasn’t Emily.
“You are the foolish one.” A voice from the entrance of the garage startled everyone except Michael.
Elegantly and gracefully, the CEO of Empire World Corporation, CEOJoel, took long strides into the garage with his hands in his pocket.
Upon seeing him, they all began trembling. The CEO of Empire World Corporation! The man next to the heavens! The man that could make anything happen even with a snap of his fingers. Joel Manchester.
Anderson staggered backwards, his jaws, wide open.
“I’ve always known you were a betrayer and then, I warned my brother about you.” Joel blurted out softly, his intimidating gaze fixed on Anderson.
He strolled over to where Anderson was standing. “But for you to think that the Manchesters or anyone of them is a betrayer, you must be out of damn mind!”
#FLASHBACK
THE PREVIOUS NIGHT:
“Joel you are going for the anniversary too right?” Emily had asked, staring intently at Joel as they ate.
“Ani.” Joel muffled, munching on the spoonful of food in his mouth.
“Mbo?” Emily pouted.
“Oppa… what about you?” She asked, turning to Michael who was sitting next to her.
“I am not sure, I have some things to deal with.” Michael had replied.
Emily’s face then fell. “Ah…”
“Hyungnim, what will you be busy with?” Joel had asked suspiciously.
“Some stuff at the office.” Michael replied, picking up his phone and doing some things on it.
Unknown to anyone, Michael had sent his brother a message.
He was getting fed up with the whole issue and had decided to let his brother know about the messages he had been receiving.
“Good night. I need to sleep.” He had then stood up on his feet and headed to his room.
…… ….. …… …. ***
“I’ll get you something simple. A shirt and skirt right?” Joel had smirked as he stared at Emily.
That night, after dinner, they had entered Emily’s room and she told him she was going to wear something simple to the party which had been a bit funny to Joel.
“Nde.” Emily mouthed.
“Uhn” Joel nodded his head.
He sat on the bed, brought out his phone from his pocket and unlocked it and then, he had a message. It was from his brother, telling him to see him in the garden.
After reading the message, Joel narrowed his eyes for a bit, he had known his brother had something worrisome on his mind.
He stood up on his feet. He had decided to go hear out his brother.
