Two days later – Villa?️?️?️
Emily pouted as she shuffled out of the villa.
It had been two days, and the defiant CEO was still not back.
She didn’t know why, but she missed him so much.
She had just walked out the high and mighty gates of the villa when her phone rang-it was an unknown number calling. She accepted the call and placed the phone on her ear.
“Yeoboseyo?”
Vincent’s voice came on, “Pretty lady.”
“Huh?…”
Emily removed the phone from her ear and stared at it.
It was her knight in shining amour that was on the phone.
She replaced the phone on her ear and grinned, “Annyeon.”
Vincent smiled, “How are you?..”
“I’m fine.”
Emily beamed with a smile as she walked down the road.
“Deo, is this your number?” She asked.
“Uhn,” Vincent replied in a nasal voice.
“Where are you?” He asked.
“Hmm, I’m on my way to work.” She replied, approaching a bus shelter.
“Really?”
“Uhn.” She nodded her head, even though Vincent couldn’t see her.
“Okay, just called to say Hi. Take care of yourself, I’m hanging up.” Vincent bit his lips.
Emily grinned, “Hmn. Annyeon.”
Vincent hung up, and Emily quickly boarded the bus.
As she sat in the bus, she felt people’s eyes boring holes on her body, but she waved it off-maybe they weren’t staring at her.
In no time, she arrived at her destination and highlighted.
“Annyeon unnie,” She smiled as she walked into her manager’s office.
Maria stood up on her feet and took her tablet in her hand, “Emily, let’s go.”
Emily furrowed her brows, “Wae?… Is anything wrong?”
“Not at all, darling. You are hosting a TV show. I told you last night, have you forgotten?” Maria asked, arching up one of her brows.
“Ahh, anyo.”
Maria stared at Emily’s dress for a few seconds, and something flashed through her eyes.
The duo walked out of her office and headed to the presenting studio.
“Oh mai Gawd!”
“Isn’t that Empire World’s WAVE?”
“It’s really expensive!”
“Who exactly is she?”
“Please just let me faint.”
“WAVE?!”
“That dress!…”
“Wave!?
“What is the newbie wearing!?”
“Fantastic!”
Employees gushed as they watched Emily walk down the hallway. She was a rich lady or the girlfriend of a rich man.
The ladies rushed towards Emily and Maria.
One thing about the entertainment industry was that they only associated themselves with rich and influential people.
Stephanie was the queen of the broadcasting industry, and everyone adored her-they worshipped her.
She had no competitor, and she was also the highest-paid broadcaster in the whole country.
But now that there was someone else whom they thought was richer than her, they would abandon her. Stephanie was bitchy anyways…
“Sunbae,” they all chorused as they blocked Emily and her manager’s path.
Emily’s lips twitched from side to side, ‘huh? sunbae? I’m new here…’
“Uh, erm…” She stuttered, scratching her head in bafflement.
Maria rolled her eyes at the girls. She knew why the girls were like that, she knew they were only obsessed with Emily because she was rich.
She also didn’t know exactly who Emily was-she also thought Emily was a rich lady.
“Get out of the way, we can’t be late for the show.” She stated authoritatively.
“Uh, wait… is sunbae the one hosting the show with Annie Bella?” One of the girls asked.
Maria rolled her eyes, but she replied, “Uhn.”
“Uwa!”
“Wow!”
“Is it true!?”
“OMG!”
“Am I dreaming?”
The girls gasped excitedly.
“Unnie, please let me be your personal assistant. You need one!!!” Another girl cried out to Emily.
“Me too!!!!!!!!” The girls chorused.
Maria scowled, “When she’s ready to get a personal assistant, she’ll get one. But for now, get out of the way.”
The girls parted ways for them very quickly, none of them preferred to get on Mrs. Maria’s nerves.
Maria took Emily’s hand and headed to the studio.
Stephanie’s expression grew darker as she stepped out of her hiding place.
She was on her way home but had stopped and hid in a corner with her assistant when she saw the girls run towards Emily.
She had also seen the dress Emily was wearing, and she was just as shocked as those girls.
But her manager told her the girl was not from a rich family, which left her with just one thought-the girl was definitely sleeping with a rich guy.
Stephanie sneered.
“Have you done what I told you to do?” She asked Nancy who was standing behind her.
Nancy bowed, “Nde.”
“That wench will pay,” Stephanie smirked and walked away with Nancy following behind her.
Emily got dressed up by her makeup artist her manager got for her in the industry.
“Annyeonghaseyo,” she beamed with smile and bowed her head as she came to stand before the woman she would be interviewing on air.
Annie smiled back at her, “Annyeon.”
“You are the host right?” She asked.
“Yes, I am.”
“I’m in your hands now, please treat me well,” Annie replied and bobbed her head.
“The show is about to start, get on the studio floor, you two.” The broadcasting manager beckoned on Annie and Emily.
“The script…” Emily hastily collected the script from her manager and climbed the studio floor with Annie.
Soon, they were on-air. Live and direct.
Annie Bella was a well-known musician, and she had more than thousands of fans that would die for her, even though she didn’t work in Empire World Entertainment Industry(EWEI).
She was signed in Global Industry, an industry that was next after EWEI.
As soon as the show began, a lot of people hastily tuned in to EWEI TV to watch.
After introducing herself as the host, Emily introduced her guest and began her questions.
Little did she know that she was with the wrong script, a script that could make the rest of her life miserable.
“So Miss Annie, what are the challenges you’ve faced as a celebrity?” Emily asked the fourth question, after taking a peek at the script card in her hand.
Annie smiled sweetly, “Huh… well, you know there are haters; there are always haters trying to bring me down. Asides them, and a few other personal challenges, I’m good.”
Emily nodded her head in agreement with her.
“Over to the next question, we heard you aborted a pregnancy last month, and you got a medical report that you’ll never be able to give birth again, how do you feel?” She had already read out the next question before she could get a grip of herself.
She promptly looked up at Annie whose smile had disappeared and been replaced with a deep, ugly scowl.
No one in the country knew she aborted a pregnancy, how did this girl before her know… Annie tried her best to be calm.
She was convinced Emily was definitely one of her haters, she had invited her to this show, just to disgrace her! Annie’s scowl went deeper.
She balled up her fists, ‘She’ll pay for it.’
“Well, I don’t know where you heard that from…” she managed to reply expertly.
After a few more questions, the show ended.
As soon as they were off-air, Annie sent two resounding slaps to Emily’s face.
“…..” Emily gasped.
“You did that on purpose right!?” Annie thundered angrily.
“A-an-ani…” Emily muttered in tears.
Maria quickly rushed out of the control room, “Annie!”
She inspected Emily who was sobbing uncontrollably and glanced at Annie, who was boiling with anger.
“You said that purposely to tarnish my image right, to ruin the reputation I worked so hard for, uhn!?” Annie wiped the tear that brimmed down her face.
Maria sighed, “Annie, take it easy.”
“I don’t know where EWEI got you from. It was supposed to be Stephanie interviewing me. Disgusting!”
Annie walked down the studio floor.
She handed her purse over to her manager and they walked out of EWEI.
Her abortion was a huge mistake, a big scar that she had been trying to get rid of. How that girl got to know about it, she didn’t know, but Annie knew she was trying to bring her down. She would never allow that.
Maria sighed again and glanced at Emily. She sighed again for the umpteenth time and hugged her.
She squatted down and picked the script that had fallen off Emily’s hand when she got slapped, and helped Emily out of the studio, to her office.
Stephanie couldn’t stop laughing, the slaps were reverberating enough to make a person deaf.
She laughed again, “the slaps were, oh mai Gawd??…”
“Hot?” Carmen chirped in.
“Yeah.”
She pressed her lips in a thin line, “I hope that hacker has changed the time for her schedule…”
Carmen smiled, “Yes.”
“Good. Very soon, she’ll know she is not welcomed here, and leave,” Stephanie smirked.
???
“The script was switched.” Maria scowled and scrunched up the script in her hand.
That wasn’t the script. If only she read it before Emily collected it from her…
“…” Emily’s lips quivered as tears kept streaming down her face.
“It’s okay,” Maria sat on her desk and patted her back gently.
“This is part of the war I told you about. Stop crying,” She shrugged.
“You are going for an interview by four. Go home, take a shower, take a nap, cheer up, and get back here before four.” She tucked the strands of hair that had fallen over Emily’s face behind her ear.
She smiled again and handed Emily’s bag over to her, “It’s okay, take a break.”
Slowly, Emily stood up and shuffled her feet to the door.
Maria was full of pity as she watched Emily.
She shook her head, ‘Poor girl, she didn’t know what she was getting herself into. Tsk tsk tsk.’
She walked around her desk and sat on her chair. She’d find the person behind the false script.
People eyed Emily as she dragged her feet out of the industry, downcasted. Her news had spread around the industry like wildfire.
