Her fingers gripped onto the sides of the toilet as she emptied her stomach of the breakfast she had just had some moments ago. She felt ill and her stomach felt nauseous.
She threw up until her stomach could no longer empty itself, despite countless attempts to go on.
She sighed out shakily as she reached up for the toilet handle and pulled it down, watching as the contents swirled around until they were replaced with clear water before sitting back on the ground, feeling her entire body shudder.
“Emily?” Maggie, her mother, asked as she knocked against the bathroom door, feeling worried for her daughter.
Emily sighed out, running a hand through her hair as she gazed up at the bulb on the ceiling.
“Um… Is there any toilet paper?” She asked out, not wanting her mother to know she was throwing up.
Maggie furrowed her brows, wondering why the toilet paper was needed when she saw her about to throw up.
“Toilet paper?” Magiie asked and Emily clenched her jaw and she squeezed her eyes tightly, wondering what she should say.
“I had some digestive problem… I was… I have toilet paper but I think you’ll need to replace it…” She pinched her lips together as she gazed around awkwardly, though the door was locked.
“Oh… When you come out then you better have some medicine juice okay?” Maggie sighed out in disappointment.
“S-Sure.” Emily stammered as sh got up from the ground and grabbed the roll of toilet paper. She held it above the toilet and began to roll the strips into the toilet and flashing them down, reducing the roll’s size.
She flashed for the last time, making sure it wasn’t blocked before walking towards the sink.
She gazed into the mirror, staring at her panicked self as she pressed her lips together. She leaned onto the sink and furrowed her brows, trying to figure out the pattern the thinks is right.
It had been at most a month since the mating ceremony…. And her calendar had missed it’s usual date…
She gasped in terror as she jumped from the mirror and held onto her mouth in terror.
She quickly ran towards the door and unlocked it, rushing out in a split second as she ran towards the dining hall.
In the dining hall, Jason, Melanie and Kelvin remained except her parents that seemed to have gone else were, probably to do their daily duties.
“Kelvin!” Emily hissed out in a whisper, though all of them ended up glancing at her standing at the door.
Kelvin raised his brows as he got up slowly whilst munching onto a cupcake. She gestured him with her hand for him to come over quickly. He nodded and grabbed a fee more cupcakes before walking towards the door. She stepped aside and out of view from Melanie and Jason as Kelvin finally got out, still eating the cupcakes.
He raised his brows as he noticed the uncomfortable expression on her face.
“Anything wrong?” He asked after he forced the contents in his mouth down his throat. “You look so uncomfortable.”
“I threw up…” She frowned as she stared at him with a worried gaze, only to have him cringe his nose in disgust.
“Why are you telling me that whilst I’m eating?” He asked with an annoyed expression as she rolled her eyes.
“You don’t understand, Kelvin.” She sighed out, running a nervous hand through her hair. “I think I might actually be pregnant…” She frowned and he widened his eyes in shock, only to shock out on a cupcake when he was about to gasp out.
He hit against his chest, trying to clear his throat as the shock got the best of him.
“Pregnant?” Kelvin asked in terror and she nodded as she bit her lip uncomfortably.
“It’s obviously Jason’s…. He’s the only one I’ve been with-”
“Wait… You could be wrong, you’re just over thinking things.” He sighed out slowly as he shook his head. “You could just be nauseous.”
“And what if I’m right?” Emily asked with furrowed brows and a deep frown. “What are we going to then?” She asked in a whisper as she leaned into his ear. “Everyone might found out about Jason and I… What would happen then? I mean… He hasn’t even divorced Melanie yet…. It will ruin his image-”
“Look at you worrying about him.” Kelvin rolled his eyes then shoved a cupcake into his mouth, chewing it for a moment before sighing out once he swallowed. “Can’t you worry about yourself for once?” He asked in near irritation. “Everyone will think you seduced him.”
“Well…. I actually did-”
“No, I mean that in a bad way.” Kelvin tolled his eyes as she glanced down to the floor, dropping her shoulders in defeat. “Think about it. He’s a married man, you seduced a married man, people will think you’re… Somehow weird, right?” He asked and she nodded slowly. “Plus everyone knows… You’re adopted and I’m pretty sure others didn’t like the idea of you. Those type of people would want to hurt you in someway.”
“I know…” She took in a sharp breath as she glanced around uneasily. “The first day I came here, there were others that spoke against the fact that they just found a stray when there were also some kids in the pack that didn’t have their parents and were looked after by their aunts and uncles. But my parents chose me, out of the many other kids around the pack, they chose an outsider. So I don’t think I need to worry about them that much.” She sighed out and he nodded.
“But you know… It’s painful to hear it when they actually say it.” He frowned at her and she nodded slowly with an assuring smile.
“I know you’re afraid of that.” She chuckled out nervously. “I don’t want to hear it, but you can’t really stop others from saying such things right?” She asked as she glanced at him with a pitiful look on her face. “I got used to being scolded. But Jason will have fingers pointing at him… I don’t want that. Plus they’ll blame him more and assume he raped me or forced me to it, which is the same thing.” She sighed out shakily and shook her head. “What do we do…?”
