Abbie tried her best to escape, but it was useless. Michael even kissed her on the face a few times, which made her so angry that her voice trembled. “Michael… F*ck you… I’m going to kill you!”
Michael turned a deaf ear to her words because he hadn’t been so close to Abbie for such a long time. He missed her like crazy, so how could he bring himself to let her go?
Abbie kept struggling desperately, but her physical strength was no match for Michael’s.
Michael then carried her back to the sofa, which made her furious because she couldn’t escape. “Michael, what are you trying to do?”
Michael did not answer her at all. Instead, he just hugged her so tightly as if he didn’t want to let her go at all.
He hugged her for such a long time that her whole body had gone numb. “Michael, what’s wrong with you? Let go of me! I can’t move!”
It was only then did Michael let go of Abbie. Her limbs had already gone numb and she felt extremely uncomfortable. Just then, she immediately gave Michael a harsh slap as soon as he released her.
She thought that Michael would dodge, but he just stood there motionlessly as she slappped him across his face.
Abbie could see the mark of her fingerprints on Michael’s face clearly as he looked at her with a passionate gaze.
Abbie couldn’t look him in the eye at all, so she stretched her numb limbs and stood up. Michael got up as well, which made Abbie take a few steps back. “What are you going to do now?”
“I’ll send you back!”
“Get lost, I don’t want you to see me off! Let me tell you, I’ll tolerate what you did today, but I won’t let you go if this happens again!”
Abbie strode away as she said this, but Michael followed her all the way to the Clark family’s villa. Coincidentally, Richard had just reached home as well and he stopped the car when he saw Michael following Abbie to the gate.
“MIchael, what are you doing here? Are you still pestering my sister? It seems like you have a f*cking death wish.”
Michael was silent as Richard asked Abbie, “Did he bully you?”
“No!” As Abbie shook her head, Richard noticed the red marks on her hand and he suddenly exploded. “What happened to your hand? Did Michael do this? D*mn it…”
Richard was about to start a fight, but Braelynn came up from behind and stopped him. “Enough! Aren’t you too old to be fighting? What’s wrong with you?”
“Look at Abbie’s hand…”
Braelynn took a look at Michael’s face and shook her head at Richard. Then, his anger subsided when he saw the clear fingerprints on Michael’s face. “You deserve it! You should hit him harder on the other side of his face too!”
Braelynn then pulled Abbie into the house while Richard glared at Michael before following them in. After that, Michael stood alone at the door for a while before he turned around and got in the car.
When he started the car and left, he called William on the way.
He said as soon as William picked up the call, “The slap was worth it today.”
“Are you sick in the head?”
“I’m so happy that I got to hug her for a long time today. Even though she bit and slapped me, I’m not angry at all.”
“You’re so shameless!” William spat.
“William, I can tell that she still loves me.”
“How can you tell when she hit you? Would she have bitten you if she loves you?”
“That just shows how much she loves me, and I’m relieved that she was willing to hit me and scold me. She also told me that she recovered her memory.”
William let out a hum and asked, “What are you going to do next?”
“Please compliment me a little in front of Richard so that I can get close to him. I am confident that I can mend our relationship.”
William chuckled and said, “Let me remind you, Leonard is going to the Clark family with my grandfather in three days. What are you going to do about this?”
“I already have a way to deal with it.”
“Okay, good luck!”
During an auspicious time three days later, Leonard invited Fandrey to visit the Clark family with precious gifts.
After Donald and Helen warmly invited Fandrey in, the latter got straight to the point after they sat down separately.
Donald nodded. “My family is very grateful to Mr. Floyd because he saved Abbie. Mr. Ye is so young, handsome, and talented. As long as he can guarantee that he will treat Abbie well, our family has no reason to disagree with their marriage.”
Leonard’s face lit up when he heard that and he immediately said, “Don’t worry, Uncle. I swear that I’ll treat her well and I won’t let her suffer even the slightest bit.”
“Since you said so, then this matter…”
However, Richard said lazily before Donald could finish, “Wait a minute! I have something to ask you.”
Richard’s attitude toward Leonard had always been very good. Leonard had thought that Donald and Helen would pick on him, but he had never thought that Richard would cause trouble for him. Just then, he looked at Richard in surprise.
The expression on Richard’s face was very serious. “I once made a request to you, do you still remember it?”
“Yes, I do!” Leonard could not remember what Richard had requested, so he just replied casually.
“That’s good. Since you remember what you promised me, then you should know that you and Abbie are not meant to be.”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
Leonard’s face was full of shock as Richard asked indifferently, “Are you playing dumb?”
“No, I’m not! But please explain it to me.”
“Do you really want me to expose you like this? We’re very grateful to you for saving Abbie and we don’t want to embarrass you. But I’m telling you that you’d better give up asking for Abbie’s hand in marriage and get on with your life.”
“Mr. Clark, you don’t have to hide anything and you can get to the point. I have a clear conscience.” Leonard couldn’t think of any evidence that Richard could have against him, so his tone was very stern.
“Okay, I’ll say it right now. Not only did you sleep around with other women, but you also have an illegitimate child. How can you have the right to ask for Abbie’s hand in marriage?”
“You’re just slandering me!” Leonard retorted.
“Mr. Floyd, shouldn’t you verify it first before you accuse me of slandering you?” Richard sneered. “Since that’s the case, let me remind you. Weren’t you familliar with Evelyn and can you really deny the fact that you’ve slept with her?”
“This… this is…” Leonard wanted to deny that it was just a rumour. However, he knew that Richard must have the information about him and Evelyn being together. He instantly lost his confidence when he thought of this.
Richard calmly said, “This happened in the past, right? We promised that we wouldn’t pursue the things in the past, and I wouldn’t have mentioned it since your relationship with Evelyn had long been over. But you can never cut ties with her because she’s in prison while she’s pregnant with your child!”
