Michael drove away from Leonard’s villa, but he didn’t know where to go.
He drove the car aimlessly on the road and his phone rang a few moments later. Michael looked at Azalea’s caller ID on the screen and took a few deep breaths before he answered, “Hello!”
Azalea said coyly, “Michael, are you coming back for dinner tonight? I brought Auntie Meadow back home and asked the staff to prepare your favourite dishes.”
Azalea was beginning to push her luck, but Michael didn’t say anything. The only thing he really wanted to do was strangle her to death for being so vicious and shameless.
Azalea said again when Michael didn’t answer, “Don’t you want to see your child? He is much fatter now and he’s very obedient. Michael, come back and see him!”
Michael let out a sigh when Azalea mentioned the child. He had never spent any time with the child since he was born, but he couldn’t ignore it completely like this. After all, he wanted to marry Azalea because of this child. His plan with William had been carried out in an orderly manner, so he couldn’t let anyone find out that something was strange about this.
Michael suppressed his disgust when he thought of this and replied, “Got it. I’ll be back tonight!”
Michael wandered outside for another two hours and he only returned to the Davis family when night fell.
The dishes were already being served by the time he entered the house.
Meadow held the child in her arms and played with him in the living room. Earlier today, Azalea had specially brought her back home.
Wayne had agreed to accept Meadow back to the Davis family for Azalea’s sake because Michael agreed to marry her.
Meadow was naturally grateful to Azalea. When she saw Michael come back, she deliberately took the child over and showed it to him. “Michael, come and see your child!”
The child was so fat that Michael could barely see his eyes because of his chubby cheeks.
Michael averted his gaze because he felt uncomfortable, but Meadow didn’t let him go. “Michael, look at how cute your child is? He’s as fair and chubby as you when you were a child.”
Azalea had a bright smile on her face. “Was Michael also very fat when he was young?”
Meadow said, “Yes, Michael could eat a lot when he was a child. He was so fat that I could barely see his eyes, and I didn’t expect his son to be the same as him.”
Did he look so ugly when he was a child? Michael complained in his heart. Perhaps he could imagine how he looked when he was a baby if this child was really his, but this wasn’t the case. Meadow was hugging a child that had nothing to do with him, so how could she say that they resembled each other?
Were they hallucinating? Michael cursed in his heart. He was filled with hatred, but he couldn’t show it and he just sat there calmly.
Meadow didn’t know what to do. “Aren’t you going to carry your child? He’s been born for such a long time, so don’t you have to hug him and be close to him? Children have to be with their fathers in order to be smart.”
Michael was disgusted, so how could he hug the baby? “What for? I’m hungry, let’s eat first!”
Meadow had no choice but to give up when she heard Michael’s words.
Meadow took the initiative to mention the child again during dinner. “Michael, you didn’t even hold a ceremony to celebrate your child’s birth. I feel sorry just thinking about it, so shouldn’t you compensate Azalea and your son?”
Azalea looked at Michael eagerly when she heard Meadow say this, but Michael lowered his head and ate silently. Meadow didn’t know how to decipher his expression at all. She felt that since Michael had happily told Francis about his wedding day with Azalea, he should have made up his mind to live a good life with her.
She continued, “William held a grand banquet for his twins, but our family didn’t organize anything at all for your son. We’ll be taken as a laughing stock.”
“Are you afraid of being embarrassed? Do you want to compete with the Howard family?” Michael threw his utensils aside.
He said while he pointed at Azalea, “William is the owner of the Wolf Group and Valeria has a dowry that’s worth billions. Azalea and I have nothing at all, so how can we compete with the Howard family?”
Meadow suddenly went silent. Wayne, who had been silent for a long time, immediately tried to smooth things over. “Your mother is doing this for your own good. After all, this is your child and she loves him too.”
Michael sneered in his heart. He wondered how Meadow and Wayne would react if they knew that the child had nothing to do with him. However, he couldn’t expose the truth because he had an important task to carry out. He just suppressed his anger and said, “Do you know why I didn’t hold a banquet for my son? The fortune-teller said that my luck this year is not suitable for a big event. Even my marriage can’t be too grand, let alone a banquet for the child. Why do we even need to organize something like that? Can’t we celebrate his birthday after our wedding?”
Wayne nodded and said, “Michael is right. Let’s talk about the child after his wedding. A celebratory banquet like this isn’t a big deal, we can still celebrate the child’s birthday next year!”
After dinner, Azalea carried the child and walked in front of Michael while she praised continuously, “Our baby is very obedient and he never cries. Even the aunt who takes care of him has always praised him. She said that she has taken care of so many children, but none of them is as obedient as ours.”
Michael nodded, but he felt strange when he looked at the child’s chubby face. How could there be a baby that never cried? Could there be something wrong with this baby’s mental development?
While Michael thought of this, Azalea asked again, “Michael, will you stay the night?”
“I’ll stay since I don’t have anything else to do,” Michael replied lightly.
Azalea was overjoyed when she heard this. “I’ll ask Auntie to change the sheets.”
She was just about to hand the child in her arms to Michael when he suddenly covered his nose. “Why is it so stinky?”
Azalea was stunned for a moment when she also smelled a pungent stench. Needless to say, it was because the child had just pooped and she said uncomfortably, “He just pooped!”
Michael immediately moved away in disgust. “Why don’t you help him change his diapers?”
Azalea stood stiffly with the child in her arms. She had never changed the child’s diapers at all since the servants have been doing it all along. However, Azalea had no choice but to take the child to the room when she saw Michael staring at her.
Michael watched as Azalea carried the child upstairs, but Meadow followed him when he was about to leave. “Aren’t you staying at home?”
“I have something to do in the company, so I need to have a look at it. Let’s talk about this next time!”
Azalea held back her disgust and changed her son’s diapers. When she heard the sound of a car’s engine from outside, she rushed to the window and saw that Michael’s car had driven out of the Davis family’s villa. Azalea was so angry that she stomped her feet. She couldn’t catch up with Michael, so she could only vent her anger on the child. “D*mn it, why do you have such timing?!”
Meanwhile, in the Howard family. William had a social event, so he didn’t come home until 10 o’clock at night. Cade and Santhos were still awake when he came home, and they were still playing with toys in the living room.
Hayden and Lucas had been playing with the twins, and it was as if they were at the twins’ beck and call. When Hayden heard William’s voice, he looked over and said, “William is back!”
William nodded silently, but Cade grinned at him and shouted loudly, “William!”
The atmosphere was quiet for a second as Hayden looked at Cade and William before he burst into laughter instantly.
