Valeria rushed to the Clark family after breakfast, which made Helen surprised that she arrived so early. “Abbie is still sleeping because she came back very late last night and she said that she went drinking with Leonard. I was very worried and I waited for her in the living room, but she just said a few words to me when she came home before going straight to bed. She’s been quite distant to me after she came back. Valeria, please talk to her and help me persuade her.”
“Okay, I’ll go upstairs and have a look.” Valeria walked upstairs quickly after that.
Abbie was awake, unlike what Helen had said. When Valeria pushed the door open, she saw Abbie leaning against the bed in a daze.
She had a smile on her face when she saw Valeria, “You’re here!”
“Well, I’ve settled the thing you asked me to do last night.” Valeria closed the door and walked to Abbie’s bed to sit down. “The man I sent just came back, and he told me that the tenants living at the address had moved away last night.”
“What?” Abbie had already expected this, but she still couldn’t help but ask.
“Yeah, they moved out last night. Abbie, do you know the people living there? Why are you looking for them?”
Abbie closed her eyes. “I don’t know them, but I just have something that I want to find out.”
Abbie didn’t want to talk about it, so Valeria didn’t continue the topic. Instead, she mentioned Leonard. “Abbie, I have something to tell you about Leonard.”
Valeria could see a trace of disgust flash across Abbie’s eyes when she heard Leonard’s name.
She had always thought that Abbie liked Leonard a lot, but now it seemed that this was not the case.
Valeria looked into Abbie’s eyes. “Abbie, I heard that Leonard has a pregnant girlfriend abroad. Do you know about this?”
Abbie was stunned. “No, I don’t. Who told you that?”
“I heard from my husband that Leonard doesn’t get along well with my husband’s grandfather and uncle. He’s a very sinister and vicious person. My husband found out about these things when he arranged for someone to investigate Leonard.”
“Is that so?” Abbie was absent-minded. The pregnant girlfriend that Valeria mentioned was most probably Abbie. Since William has found out so much, would he find out about Emma?
Abbie thought about it and continued, “My husband’s men reported that something happened to Leonard’s pregnant girlfriend three months ago, and they claimed that she lost her baby. Do you know about this?”
Abbie’s expression changed suddenly, but she shook his head. Valeria stared at her and said, “Abbie, why don’t you know about these things when you’ve been with Leonard?”
Although Abbie remained silent, her expression had given her away and it was clear that she was aware of these matters.
Valeria continued, “When I arranged for someone to check the address you mentioned last night, I sent someone to inquire about some information. There were a few men and women in that house, and there was also a child. Could that child belong to Leonard’s pregnant girlfriend? I suspect that the child is still alive, but Leonard concealed all of her information.”
Abbie lowered her head subconsciously when she heard that. “Is that so?”
Valeria continued when she saw that Abbie didn’t dare to look at her, “Abbie, Leonard did everything he could to destroy the Floyd family, who has done a great deal for him. I don’t think he’s a good person and he must have some ulterior motives. I’m very worried that he will take advantage of you, so tell me, do you really like Leonard?”
Abbie opened her mouth and she wanted to tell Valeria that she had not lost her memory. She wanted to say that she was Leonard’s supposedly pregnant girlfriend and that her child was at Leonard’s mercy.
However, the door was pushed open before she could finish her sentence. Helen walked in and said, “Leonard is here, come down immediately!”
Leonard brought a lot of valuable gifts for the Clark family again. When Abbie and Valeria went downstairs, Donald and Helen were already talking to Leonard in the living room.
Leonard stood up and stretched out his hand to Abbie when he saw her walk down the stairs. He said gently, “Abbie!”
Valeria reached out to hold Abbie’s hand and refused to let her go. Abbie hesitated for a moment, but she still released Valeria’s hand and walked toward Leonard.
Leonard reached out to hold Abbie’s hand and looked at Helen with a smile. “I have something important to tell both of you today.”
Donald and Helen had already guessed it when they saw Leonard holding Abbie’s hand.

Leonard looked at Abbie with a gentle gaze and said, “I like her very much and I’ve had feelings for her since the first time I saw her. She’s kind and innocent. I know that I don’t deserve her and I tried not to like her, but I couldn’t help myself. After some time, I found that I couldn’t leave her. I want to ask for your blessing to marry her! I will take care of her for the rest of her life and make her happy!”
Helen looked at Donald with a solemn expression while Valeria sneered beside them. “Leonard, are you putting on an act? Do you think someone like you is worthy of loving Abbie?”
“Mrs. Howard, this is a very serious matter. I’m earnestly asking Abbie’s parents for their blessing, so please don’t be so unreasonable. This isn’t a joking matter.”
“I know that this isn’t something to be taken lightly, but it’s very ridiculous for someone as despicable as you to say this. You’re so shameless and vicious. Leonard, since you said that you love Abbie, how can you prove it? Are you just saying it for the sake of it?”

“Of course, my words are not groundless. Everyone knows that you were caught with a prostitute, right?”
Leonard suppressed his anger. “Mrs. Howard, how many times have I told you that it was a misunderstanding? I was tricked.”
“Your explanation is ridiculous. Do you think we would trust you? Mr. Floyd, not only did you hire a prostitute, but you also played with other women outside. How can a scumbag like you have the guts to like Abbie?”
