Azalea rushed to the Clark family and waited outside their villa for a long time until they returned.
Helen got out of the car first, followed by Valeria and Abbie. Just then, Azalea’s eyes widened in utter shock when she saw Abbie getting out of the car.
How could Abbie still be alive?
She personally saw Abbie’s body submerged in the sea, so how could she come back alive?
Azalea didn’t understand why Abbie could survive the ordeal, so she was terrified to the extreme when she saw the latter in the flesh.
She was the one who tried to kill Abbie at the start, so she would definitely be done for now that Abbie was back alive!
Azalea didn’t dare to stay any longer and immediately went to find Francis.
Francis was about to leave with Frederick, so he was surprised to see Azalea. “Why are you here? Where’s your child?”
“There’s a nanny watching over the child. Dad, I have something urgent to discuss with you and I need to talk to you alone.”
Francis brought her to the study after hearing her request, and she said anxiously as soon as he closed the door, “Abbie came back and she’s alive!”
Francis thought that Azalea was worried that she would lose her status, so he comforted her. “I already know about it, but it doesn’t matter. Anyway, you have already given birth to Michael’s child, and he has already signed a contract with me. He has no choice but to marry you.”
“It’s not about marriage. Dad, I want to talk to you about something else. I was the one who caused Abbie’s accident when I pushed her into the sea. I’m terrified now that she’s back because she will definitely come to me for revenge.”
Francis had long guessed that Azalea was the one who caused Abbie’s accident, so he was not surprised when he heard this. Instead, he asked Azalea, “Did anyone see you pushing her into the sea?”
“No, I was alone with her at that time.”
“Why are you afraid is they don’t have proof against you? The law requires evidence, so they can’t arrest you just because Abbie said that you pushed her down to the sea. You are now my daughter and a member of the Gurney family. You’re not helpless anymore, so Abbie has to think twice if she wants to hurt you.”
Francis’ words made Azalea sigh in relief. She was disturbed by the news that Abbie was still alive, so she had forgotten that Francis would protect her. She didn’t have to be afraid of Abbie as long as Francis didn’t give up on her.
Francis reminded Azalea again when he saw that she had woken up from her reverie, “Even if you don’t have to be afraid of Abbie, you’d better hurry up and deal with Michael because he’s our target.”
“He will definitely stay away from me once he finds out that Abbie is back. Dad, Michael doesn’t like me at all and he’s still in love with Abbie.” At this point, Azalea could no longer hide it from Francis.
“I’ve known about this for a long time, but so what? You gave birth to Michael’s child, who will become an heir of the Davis family and Michael’s only child. This is the power you hold over him.”
Azalea looked at Francis when she heard this “Dad, Michael is still young. As long as Abbie is willing, he can still marry her.”
“He will never have another child!” Francis sneered.
“What do you mean?” Azalea looked at Francis in astonishment.
“It means that your child will be Michael’s only descendent!”
The news of Abbie’s return quickly spread to the Davis family, which made Wayne and Meadow both extremely shocked when they heard it.
“She’s alive? What the hell is going on!? How could she come back alive after disappearing for almost a year?”
The butler replied, “It’s said that Leonard saved her, but she lost her memory. She just found out that she’s the eldest daughter of the Clark family.”
Wayne sneered and said, “Are you kidding me? Leonard must have an ulterior purpose for keeping Abbie hidden for so long before bringing her back here.”
The butler continued, “Leonard is so handsome, but he isn’t married and I heard that he loves Abbie a lot. Does he want to marry Abbie?”
Wayne’s expression looked terrible. Leonard was a sinister and cunning man, and it would be bad news for the Davis family if he married Abbie and joined forces with the Clark family to go against them.
As Wayne thought of this, a servant came in and reported, “Sir, Miss Clark is back with her child!”
Wayne glanced at the butler and stood up. “Tell all the servants to go to the door to welcome my grandson home!”
Azalea had gone in and out of the Davis family countless times, but this was the first time she had received such a grand welcome and she was extremely flattered.
The baby was welcomed into the house by the servants in grandeur. Meanwhile, Wayne sat on the sofa in the living room and smiled gently for the first time when he saw Azalea coming in with the baby in her arms. “You’re back! Let me have a look at your baby!”
Azalea handed the child to Wayne, who reached out to pinch the child’s chubby face and said dryly, “He’s so cute!”
He thought that he would be very happy to see Michael’s child, but when he held the baby in his arms, he didn’t feel a sense of joy in his heart for some reason.
At two o’clock in the afternoon, Michael didn’t care about his appearance at all as he drove to the central tower in the city.
Then, he parked the car and entered the tower. The doorman at the door was shocked when he saw Michael’s appearance, and he would’ve stopped him from entering if he didn’t know Michael personally.
Meanwhile, Abbie and Valeria were sitting by the window while they drank afternoon tea in the cafe on the second floor.
“Have a taste of this, this was your favourite.” Valeria put a piece of pastry in front of Abbie, who picked it up and took a bite with a smile.
It tasted as sweet as before and there was a faint smile on her face. However, she suddenly felt someone looking at her from behind just as she was about to speak. Then, Abbie slowly turned her head and saw Michael’s haggard face.
Michael rushed over when he knew that Abbie and Valeria were having afternoon tea here.
His original intention was to look at Abbie a few times from a distance, but he couldn’t control himself after arriving.
His longing for Abbie spiralled out of control especially when he saw her talking to Valeria with a faint smile and heard her soft voice.
Valeria’s face darkened when she saw Michael. “What are you doing here?”
Michael ignored Valeria and stared at Abbie while he murmured, “Abbie!”
Abbie looked at Michael indifferently, which made him feel as if his heart had been ripped open.
He would rather Abbie hit him or scold him than ignore him like this. “Abbie!”
He shouted again, but Abbie still looked at him coldly. She wanted to beat Michael up for being so shameless and to make him suffer.
However, she had to act as if she had lost her memory. She couldn’t do anything, so disregarding him was the only thing she could do right now.
Valeria frowned and stood up when she saw how indifferent Abbie was to him. “Michael, stay away from us! We don’t want you around!”
Michael didn’t want to give up, so he tried his best to talk to Abbie. “Abbie, please try to remember me. I’m Michael and I’m the person who loves you the most!”
Abbie looked at Michael and smiled. Then, she reached out to pick up the juice cup in front of her and poured it on his head.
“Who do you think you are? How dare you say that you love me!?”
