“Come in now!” Francis was not happy.
Evelyn pushed the door open and walked in with a look of joy and pride on her face.
Francis couldn’t care less why Evelyn came to him, and the first thing he wanted to do was to scold her. “You piece of trash! You kept refusing when I asked you to be with Thomas, but he turned out to be the eldest grandson of the Floyd family. Aren’t you regretting it now?!”
Evelyn was shocked. “Thomas is the hair of the Floyd family? Are you sure?”
“Why would I lie to you?”
Evelyn felt a sense of pity in her heart when she heard this. She didn’t like Thomas at first because he didn’t have a powerful background. Evelyn felt that no matter how capable Thomas was, he was still a worker that couldn’t compare with any of the rich and powerful families.
If she knew that Thomas was the heir of the Floyd family, she naturally would not refuse.
Francis was still scolding Evelyn angrily when she held her belly and said, “Grandpa! Stop scolding me and listen to what I have to say first. I’m pregnant!”
“What? Have you gone mad?!” Francis looked at Evelyn in shock, and Frederick was stunned as well.
“Grandpa, I know you find it hard to believe, but I’ve just done a pregnancy test and gone to the hospital for a thorough examination. It’s confirmed that I’m pregnant!”
“How can you be so shameless?!” Francis was so angry that he wanted to slap Evelyn.
Evelyn took a few steps back. “Grandpa, don’t you want to know who the father is?”
“How dare you say that? I’ll strangle you to death myself!” Francis was so angry that he was trembling, and he was about to rush over again when Evelyn interrupted, “The father of my child is William!”
Francis had already rushed to Evelyn’s side with his hand raised to hit her. However, he suddenly stopped and his face was full of disbelief when he heard this. “You and William? How is this possible?”
“How is it not?” Evelyn asked proudly, “William isn’t a saint after all. I’m so beautiful, so isn’t it natural for me to be with him?”
Francis still looked incredulous. “Don’t you know that he has a wife and a child?”
“Of course, but I’ve worked so hard to try to be his wife. Isn’t being the daughter-in-law of the Howard family better than marrying into the Floyds?”
“You must be daydreaming if you’re planning to marry William!” Francis regained his senses after a brief moment of shock.
He was not as naive as Evelyn. William had punished her so badly for Valeria’s sake back then, so how could he marry Evelyn? Wasn’t that a big joke?
“It was a fantasy before this, but it’s different now that I have his child!” Evelyn did not hide her purpose. “Grandpa, I want you to help me marry William!”
Francis was not that stupid. “That’s impossible! He has a wife and children, so how could he marry you?”
“Grandpa, you could do so many things for Azalea, so why can’t you do a little favour for me? I’ve already planned everything to have his child and there’s only one step left.”
Francis sneered and said, “Don’t you know that you are worlds apart from William? Don’t be ridiculous!”
However, Evelyn had a confident look on her face. “Grandpa, have you gone senile? William and I are closer than ever, but there’s only one person between us now. There won’t be any obstacles between us if you help me get rid of her, right?”
“How could you actually come up with this idea?” Francis glanced at Frederick, who was standing next to him. “Do you think Valeria is so easy to deal with? Are you out of your mind that you’re thinking of committing murder?”
“Grandpa, you don’t have to pretend to be innocent. Do you need me to remind you of what you have done in the past? You’ve killed people to expand our family business, so why can’t you do this for me, your granddaughter? It’s not a bad thing for me to marry William, is it?”
“Of course I can help you, but it’s not easy at all!”
“If you refuse, I’ll ask Grandma, my parents, and my brother to help me!” Evelyn threatened.
“Grandpa, I’ve already lost the chance of marrying into the Floyd family. I don’t want to lose the position of being the daughter-in-law of the Howard family as well. I hope that you’ll help me! After all, you’ll gain benefits from it as well. Anyway, I will find a way myself if you refuse because I have to do this. I will definitely convince William to deal with the Gurney family if I fulfil my wish, just like Michael dealing with the Davis Group!”
“You…” Francis pointed at Evelyn and gasped heavily. “Okay! I won’t stop you from digging a grave for yourself!”
The Floyd family’s announcement of Thomas’ identity was announced three days later, which shocked the business circle.
The Floyd family acknowledged that Thomas was the only heir of the Floyd family in a company announcement. Callum and Fandrey transferred 15 per cent of the company shares to Thomas respectively.
Thomas had held five per cent of the shares before this, and he suddenly became the biggest shareholder of the Floyd family after receiving 30 per cent.
Leonard was silent for a long time when he looked at the announcement issued by the Floyd family. His assistant stood aside and carefully observed his expression. “The Floyd family only gave 30 per cent of shares to Thomas. It seems that they don’t trust him that much.”
“Do you still think that’s too little?” Leonard glared at his assistant. “Callum is still so young, and Fandrey isn’t senile either. They wouldn’t have much control over the company if they give all of their shares to Thomas. Do you think they will be so stupid? They need to have their own share of wealth too since it won’t be easy to take it back if they gave it all away.”

The assistant also calculated that there was indeed a difference of fifteen per cent in the shares after he heard what Leonard had said.
“Did they give it to William?” The assistant guessed.
“It will be very beneficial to the Floyd family if William takes over their company, and they would definitely include it in the announcement. With William’s support, the Floyd family’s stock price will be much higher than it is now. I’m sure they’re smart enough to do that as well.”
Leonard furrowed his brows tightly after analyzing the situation. 15 per cent of their shares amounted to a huge sum of money, so who exactly did it belong to?
This matter had to be investigated thoroughly, so he ordered his assistant, “Send someone to investigate this matter. We must find out who owns the rest of the shares!”
