In the Clark family, Anna yawned and went downstairs. When she saw Richard sitting in the living room, she said, “What a rare sight of you being in here at this hour.”
Richard looked up and down at Anna and said disdainfully, “I heard that you like Andrew?”
“Who told you that?” Anna asked.
“It does not matter who I heard it from. I just want to ask you if it’s true that you like Andrew?”
“More or less. I’m very satisfied with him and he likes me very much too.”
“How confident. Are you sure Andrew really likes you with that attitude and true colour of yours? Do you know the consequences if he found out that your gentleness and softness is fake?”
“What consequences?” Anna asked.
“Andrew likes gentle women and he doesn’t like women who fuss. You huff all day, and you’re so hot-tempered that you get into fights all the time. It would be weird if he still likes you after he found out.”
“Bro, why can’t you see the good side in me? Valeria is our cupid, and even William knows about it. They didn’t even protest against it, so why are you behaving this way?”
Richard snorted. “That’s because they don’t know your temper. If they knew, they wouldn’t be the matchmaker for you anymore.”
“Who says he doesn’t know? Valeria doesn’t know that I have a bad temper, but William is well aware. He even knows that I smashed Michael’s head and dealt with Raymond, and he did not stop me.”
Richard looked at Anna in shock. “When and how did you teach Raymond a lesson? How come I don’t know about this?”
Only then did Anna realize that she had spilled the beans. She smiled awkwardly and said, “Oops, my tongue slipped. Anyway, William knows who I am and it’s none of your business!”
Richard remembered he saw Raymond’s forehead bandaged and laughed at him. At that time, Raymond’s look made him feel guilty. “So the wound on Raymond’s forehead was caused by you? Why did you hurt him?”
“Because I can’t stand him!” Anna spread out her hands. She couldn’t let Richard know that Raymond saw her naked. She had to let it go. “Bro, let’s not talk about this, okay?”
“You’re really messing around!” Richard was helpless when it came to her.
He was happy to deal with Michael, but Raymond was different. It was okay if he didn’t know, but if he was aware of it, he had to at least give an explanation.
Richard glanced at the time and waved at Anna. “Hurry up and go upstairs to change. I’ll take you out.”
“For what?”
“Eat!”
Hearing that they were going out for lunch, Anna immediately went upstairs happily. Richard picked up his mobile phone and sent a message to Raymond. “Lunch is on me today. See you at the usual place.”
Anna went upstairs for less than ten minutes and came down. Seeing that she was dressed in a casual way, Richard didn’t care about it anymore. He stood up and then walked out.
Anna quickly followed him and reached out to hold Richard’s hand. “Bro, where are we going for lunch? I want spicy hot pot!”
“Let go!” Richard glared at Anna’s hand that was holding his arm. Anna stuck out her tongue and withdrew her hand. “You’re so petty. It’s just holding hands. Do you have to be so angry?”
“I have a girlfriend now. Other than my girlfriend, no one else can hold my hand!”
“Tsk! Who wants that anyway?” Anna snorted and opened the car door. She sat in the back row and ordered Richard, “Drive now!”
Richard glared at her from the rearview mirror and they went directly to the restaurant. The two of them went to the private luxury room. After Anna sat down, she reminded Richard, “Bro, aren’t you gonna call your girl out for lunch too?”
“She doesn’t have time, as she needs to see her client today,” Richard replied.
“Busy? Then it’s just the two of us?”
“Of course not. I’ve also invited a friend. You’d better behave yourself later, okay?”
“Huh? Why? Are you afraid that I might eat a lot and embarrass you, or that I might say something wrong? Nah, it’s impossible for me to not eat much ’cause I did not have breakfast this morning and I’m literally starving. As for saying something wrong, well, I’ll just pretend to be mute.”
“Nonsense. I called Raymond over. You hurt him so you have to apologize to Raymond, okay?”
“Apologize? You want me to apologize to Raymond? Is there anything wrong with your brain? Nah, I won’t apologize even if I die.”
Richard glared at Anna, who did not admit defeat, and looked at him. “You can ask Raymond and see if he dares to ask for an apology from me.”
“Fine. You ain’t obeying me, right? Then pack your stuff and fly back this instance!”
As Richard spoke, he picked up his phone and called his secretary. “Book a flight ticket for Ms. Taylor. I’ll send her off later today.”
Anna was dumbfounded. “Brother! You can’t do this! I just wanted to have a good relationship here. You can’t just ruin my chance for a marriage.”
Richard didn’t say anything and just looked at her coldly. Anna gritted her teeth and said, “I’ll apologize, okay? Geez!”
Raymond pushed the door open and entered the private room. When he saw Anna sitting in the room, he was shocked and suddenly stopped.
Richard stood up and said, “You’re here! I just knew that she had hit your forehead. I’m sorry. She grew up abroad and has no principals at all. I brought her here to apologize today.”
After that, he pushed Anna. “Apologize! Hurry up!”
Anna said with a bitter face, “I’m sorry, Mr. Saunders!”
Raymond originally felt guilty. He thought that Richard knew that he had seen all of Anna naked, but he didn’t expect that it was Anna who apologized.
He was in a good mood and said generously, “It doesn’t matter, Ms. Taylor. Next time, don’t hit people like that. Richard and I are friends so it’s fine. But if it was someone else…”
“If it was someone else…” Anna gritted her teeth. “If it was someone else, they would have been sent to jail right, Mr. Saunders?”
Raymond knew that he couldn’t go too far. He smiled embarrassedly and said, “Right. Let bygones be bygones. Lunch is on me today!”
Raymond had a good meal, but Anna was full of anger. She couldn’t bear it. If she didn’t do anything, she would feel sorry for today’s humiliation.
Anna wanted to pick up her phone and go out. She had to find a way to teach Raymond a lesson.
Anna stood behind the flower stand in the corridor and frowned, trying to figure out a way. The sound of a wheelchair rolling could be heard. A woman who looked like a nurse was pushing another woman with heavy makeup over.
The two stopped beside Anna. The woman in the wheelchair ordered the person who assisted her. “Go to the rest place first. I’ll call you if I have something to do.”
“Yes, Miss Clark!”
The nurse agreed and left. The woman in the wheelchair took out her mobile phone and began to dial.
Of course, Anna would not stand here and listen to the phone call. She was about to leave when she heard the woman say to the phone, “Michael, I’m at the corner of the second floor. Can you come out?”
